Sorry! But I simply will not be buying your car
>>
blind spot warnings are genuinely useful
electronic parking brake is mildly annoying but a manual brake takes up space
dial shifter is annoying, touchscreen controls are annoying (I just want a screen to look at a map, gimme real buttons and a full keyboard)
start stop is awful but you get used to turning it off and you can't avoid it
the rest is genuinely helpful
being able to drive with your hands in your lap is great
>>
oh no. the auto industry is in shambles. whatever will they do without your one individual purchase.
>>

You don't like driving, you're a retard who likes sitting in chairs
>>

i like seeing pretty gorges and nice museums
driving sucks yeah i wish the car you just punch in a destination and it takes you there.
>>
>>28641531
Keyless ignition I gotta disagree with.
It’s actually quite nice having keyless entry (ie the door handles detect the fob in your pocket) and push start ignition. Never having to fish around for keys in your pockets.
Not a deal breaker by any stretch (my 213 fusion had that, whereas my 2010 mustang does not), but it’s a decently nice thing to have.

>>28641553
sacrificing tactile feedback and mechanical action for shreds of "convenience" like this is the mark of a lazy slop-fed paypiggy corpo goyim slave
people with souls will find the "effort" saved by not spending 0.5 seconds putting the key in the ignition to be completely negligible compared to the enjoyment of turning the key to start the car
>>
>>28641562
To each their own anon, coming out of the store with a handful of groceries is a more common occurrence than deriving some kind of pleasure from turning the key in the ignition/door/trunk lock
Rest of op’s list I completely agree with though.
Are you a poorfag looking for an excuse, or is it a legit preference? Just curious.. what do you drive?
>>
>>28641531
The electronic parking brakes really gets me. In autos I only ever hear it referred to as the "emergency brake" because it was the lever to pull if your regular brakes failed. Now it's been relegated to a retarded hill park switch instead of a physically linked secondary brake lever.
I think this is a step backwards in auto safety and I intend to write my congressman about it.

>TCS
You might wish your car had it one day. You're not as good of a driver as you think.
>lane assist
Comfy on long highway road trips if it's the kind that steers and lane-centers for you. If it does nothing but vibrate and/or jerk the steering wheel when your tire touches paint, it can fuck off.
>"adaptive cruise control"
One of the best inventions ever for highway driving. Impossible to match the speed of traffic without it.
>dial shifter
The trans is already autotragic. Who cares how you switch from P to D?
>touchscreen controls
These suck.
>keyless ignition
Pushing the start engine button makes me feel like I'm in a spaceship so it's based.
>power liftgate
It's at this point that I know you're trolling. Literally no downside.
>auto start-stop
Good in hybrids and mild hybrids, otherwise it sucks.
>blind-spot warnings
Heightens your spatial awareness. Good to have, bad to use as a crutch.
>electronic parking brake
These also suck.

It's an automatic. I don't need a larp stick. The dial is quick, easy to spin, has tactile feedback and takes up minimal space compared to a shifter.

>snap all the way to the right to drive, snap all the way to the left for park
Ez.
>>
I agree 100% with OP.
I don't want any of those things, my current car has none of these, nor did my last. OK my current one has traction control but I disabled it 5 years ago.
I simply pay attention to the road and don't find gimmicks to be luxurious or desirable - I find them to be distracting or annoying.
>>

that seems a lot worse for manual shifting than a stick automatic

Gay as fuck. Stop pretending it's something it isn't.

its not really for fun its to keep the engine in the power band around curves and on steep grades
otherwise it just goes into 8th/top gear for fuel economy

Hit the throttle.

I only buy thing with 1980s Japanese marketing acronyms

If you don't have YEIS, YICS, KIPS, ACIS, TEMS, ATTESA or MIVEC then I do not want it.
>>
>>28641876
When applied all those acronyms make drunk driving safe. I wonder which drunk drivers think those are a good idea.

>Impossible to match the speed of traffic without it.
This fucking board lmfao.
>>
>>28641911
Go ahead retard, pinpoint your throttle or cruise setting to exactly 70.1237 mph just like the uncalibrated dodge caravan in front of you is going. I'll wait.
>>
>>28641531
TCS is fine and no manufacturer makes it hard to turn off. Lane assist is shit. Adaptive cruise is very nice if it's programmed well. Dial shifters are ass. Remote keyless is nice until there's a problem, at which point you will curse every man involved with the idea design and installation of it. Power liftgates shit especially if the safety sensor that prevents it from opening freaks out about shadows (fucking ford fucking junk). Start stop needs to quietly disappear from all new models and never be spoken of again. BSM is helpful. I like electronic brake mainly because i like brake hold function. I use brake hold all the time to rest my ankle. This isn't a big deal for commuting but, if driving is your job, brake hold is as valuable as cruise control to avoid repetitive strain injuries.

How the fuck are you supposed to do multi-point turns with these things?

>Oh excuse me while I look down and delicately pinch and adjust my car's little chastity-caged clitty a few times so I can navigate this tight parking space outside the Basedporium
>>
>>28641995
It's very easy. You don't need to look. Park is far left, Drive is far right, Reverse is just one click over from Park. It has tactile feedback, you can feel it click through each selection. The backup camera also pops up on your screen whenever you enter reverse so that is an additional indicator that you're in reverse.

This board really is full of room temp IQ boomers and brownoids. Holy shit.
It's an auto. Who cares?
>muh multipoint turn
Might be a valid complaint if it's a touch screen shifter or some shit. Most are physical switchgear that give tactile feedback for every gear change, just like your larpstick.
>muh manual mode
Stop it. Get some help.
>it's bad because... it just is!
You people are completely deranged.

>tcs
Prevents women and nu-males from an heroing themselves off bridges
>lane assist
Close enough to hands free cruise control.
>dial shifter
Takes up less room than a conventional shifter. Literally a non-issue since your autotragic shifter hasn't been physically connected to your transmission in years.
>touchscreen controls
Easier to clean, harder to break.
>keyless ignition
Don't need to take my keys out of my pocket. Why is that a bad thing.
>power lift gate
Only valid complaint on here but can still be useful when your hands are full.
>auto start stop.
>>buying a pure ICE car in 2025
>blind spot warnings
Easier to tell when Stacy flings her shit into my lane while I'm cutting up traffic like an absolute menace.
>electronic parking brake
Takes up less interior space than a manual parking brake, no cable to stretch and fuck up.

Bonus points for having a giant fucking 17" touchscreen iPad in your car for no reason.
>>
>>28642229
I feel like I'm missing something. What is there to complain about with a power liftgate?
>>
>>28641531
Keyless ignition is incredible. I had a car with it, then my next car didn't have it, and I never got over the inconvenience and barbarity of sticking the key in the ignition even after a year or ownership. Traded it in for another car with keyless. It's simply the best thing they've come up with since power windows.
>>
>>28641588
You can still pull the electronic brake to stop the car if your brakes fail
>>
>>28641956
I have that x2 in poverty box form. The Element doesn't even have keyless entry or cruise control. Apparently that was optional in 2003.
>>
>>28641588
It was always a parking brake. Not one autotragic driver in the history of the US has ever used it as a parking brake so in their confusion they began to call it an emergency brake as it was the only explanation for the existence of the device that made sense to them. Reason #178301 why manual drivers in the US are so smug
>>
>>28642282
1. Slow as fuck. Let's say my hands are full and I can't get my keys out of my pocket. Okay now I press the button and stand there like a retard staring at my trunk opening taking forever. On my old Kia I could literally just throw it open and throw my shit in.

2. Underground/garage height issues, could easily slam into the roof if you're not careful. Manual lifting you can still hit it but it's easier to control.

3. You overloaded the cargo area. Old car? Just slam that shit shut. Nu car? Oh no sir that pillow and blanket is providing too much resistance on the electric motors so I'm not actually gonna close.

If they made a power liftgate that could just be opened as fast as a normal trunk I wouldn't care but it's just slow as fuck for no reason.
>>
>>28642400
The grass is always greener, I guess. I can't even pop mine from the driver area, much less power open and close or open it with my key fob. All those things would be nice to have if you ask me.
>>
I remember a trend about a decade and a half ago where niggers would brag about their cars having "push button start" in their raps. Make America White Again, you won't have this problem of automakers stuffing their cars with niggertech anymore.
>>
>>28642316
This would be even better if the doors opened a bit wider.
>>
>>28641531
>power liftgate
You're retarded for this one. I own multiple classic cars and go to shows frequently and even back in the day they had spring-assisted trunk and hood lids as a normal feature on practically every car, because metal was HEAVY. It's actually the other way around; every time I have to open a car hood or trunk and have to push it upwards I get *annoyed* because cars weren't like this until they started cutting corners to make shitboxes like (You)rs.
>>
if your car doesn't stab you in the throat for missing the apex, you don't have a car. you have a padded cell
>>
>>28645326
STEEL is heavy, my aluminium hood is not.
>>
>>28645326
A spring-assisted trunk can be opened and closed in half a second. Powered liftgates leave you standing there for 10 seconds waiting for it to slowly pull itself open.
>>
>>28645508
Then just say you want them to be faster, don't say that they shouldn't be there.
>>
>>28641531
Dial shifter is fine in autos. Electronic parking brake too.
I'd want a physical handbrake in a manual though.
