looking at relatively inexpensive sedans and I came across a couple of these fuckers. I have never driven a BMW (noted for reference, bc idgaf if it's a fake bmw) and just need a shitbox that isn't ancient or rusty, but I've hated every corolla and civic I've sat in, and most other options seem like piles or slow pieces of shitpros>sedan>reasonable price >excellent engine (for a 4 popper)>faster than most alternatives>awd to appease wife for "safety in the winter">nice build quality and handling against alternatives >not a wrenchlet so I don't care about maintenance that muchcons>still fwd, but everything is at this price point/model year>still a 4 banger>bmw insurance tax, which is gay for this model>debatable in the looks department talk me in or out of the 228i as a dd. any known issues or planned large maintenance with these things?
the interior is garbage, get a kia insteadyou want power? get the 1.6T
>>28642306>get a Kiano. also I'm not considering a fucking turbo'd gamma engine over the B48 for reliability or power
>>28642349then enjoy your horrid interior and outrageously priced repairsyou are paying for the look of the mini, if you are willing to overlook all the other flaws, that's your decision
>>28642354>doesn't actually read post technically im paying what a slightly lower mileage turbo civic will run in my area for a 228i, but okay
bumping for suggestions beyond just get a kia lmao
>>28642301>awd to appease wife for "safety in the winter"tell her AWD doesn’t help stop or steer.
>>28642301>I've hated every corolla and civic I've sat in, and most other options seem like piles or slow pieces of shit>Fast>Cheap>ReliablePick two.
drove great, has books with dealership maintenance, and got prime rate financing, so fuck it I bought it. time will tell if I'm retarded, and if so, how retarded>>28644093yeah it's pretty stupid, but she stands by her opinion. yet I've been stuck in less snowbanks/driven into fewer ditches in my lowered sedan than her crossover>>28644328better than my current shitbox which is not reliable, not fast, and currently quite expensive to keep running
