has anyone ever amde a sleeper echo/platz? such a light platform i feel like if someone knew what they were doing they could make something really special out of it. A lotus elise engine swap in particular seems interesting.

Yaris platform right? I think you could get those with a 1.8 from the factory in some places, so it might be possible to do something like that with mostly OEM stuff.

I've never seen a Yaris with a trunk.
A Yaris is some tier below a Prius but it will out live you.

the main thing i think id be worried about is the tires and fwd train

the tires because theyre very thin on the orginal echo, so running more power would mean thickening them which could cause some issues with them not fitting properly

and the fwd issue just being that its boring :/

Ive been thinking about doing a volvo 240 as a platform instead sinces its rwd and i like old volvos but i really want some sort of lotus elise drive train and the echo seemed like the best way to get it outside of a celica or matrix.

theyre ugly but ive heard surprisingly good things about them as cars, apparently there pretty fun because they weighed nothing and came with a manual.

>tires and fwd train
Is the fun bit.

That's why I mentioned the Yaris and its bigger factory options, they probably came with bigger tires.
Not that you need a shitload of tire to put <200hp down, since that's what a stock 2ZZ-GE makes.

i have a fwd car rn and im bored of it, i miss my old rwd cougar and want something that gives me the same feeling of "slow but very fun"

>>28643470
this is true but the yaris is just ugly i find the echo fun ugly.

But since it's a Yaris platform, it's entirely possible that stuff for a Yaris (like transmission mounts and suspension components) will fit the Echo, that's where I'm going with this.

ah i understand, apologies for my initial confusion
