you buy what wins, you dont buy what loses. despite what people say, EV's are too heavy and when they are really pushed to the limit of their capabilities they cannot take first in their class. you would be better off getting a porsche or a corvette. or even competeing in a lower class with muscle cars, BRZ's, Miatas or even shittier cars. ultimately if racing is about taking first place. the tesla cannot do it. enough said. if i go racing i would reference the chart to see what wins in what class, thats not a tesla.
tesla's make too much horsepower to be put in a lower class with muscle cars. but they are too heavy to be agile enough to get better track times. you have to have a lot of power to get momentum going. its ultimately the crux of all EV cars because the battery is so heavy they have to use extra metal to reinforce it. so its very unlikely that they will ever find a way to make it quicker and lighter because these 2 things are at ends when it comes to electric cars.
