I bought Pic related. Damn, its good.
>7 seats
>Every seat in the car can be flipped down and you have about 2000 litre trunk space
>Diesel 5 cylinder lacks power but sounds great, is reliable as fuck and gets around 50mpg when using cruise Control
>Leather seats, auto climate Control, Xenon headlights
>5 star crash test - literary one of the only cars in which you will survive getting hit by a semi truck

I got it cheap for 5000 bucks with 250.000km's. All I had to do is replace the AWD controller and some gay-ass steering angle sensor in the column.

Anyone else here team Volvo?
Thinking about getting the V8.

Want one of these. I think it came with a 3.2 or something as a replacement to my Honda pilot. The pilot is heavy abused and lacks maintenance yet still drives. Would the Volvo do the same?

Well the base like suspension and frame is really tough. Depending on the trim the car has alot of gadgets with electronics that will need some love if you get a used one. If you got everything running with new fluids, belts and filters you should be good to for a long time. If you get a Diesel you shouldnt stretch out the oil change more than 15.000km's at max. The 20 year old engine already gets 0W20 from the factory.

I think the Volvo would drive without maintenance but in the long run you would damage alot of shit and some systems would stop working after some time like AWD (Haldex Gen 3) or stability Systems (lots of sensors)

If you want a car that drives without maintenance you should stay with japanese. Something like a Hilux. Or maybe US make like GMC.

A family member pushed a odyssey to 250k routinely running it out of oil. Whatever you're doing to it isn't a problem

My pilot has 300k miles and is used on the farm. Off-road use everyday, towing 300gal of fuel, and pasture romping. Hit 2 deer and got hit by a rowdy bull a few times. Ran it out of oil and desu don't think it ever had the timing belt done. She's fucked up but it truly is one hell of a car tho.

I'm in America so it's a bit different.

I had an 04 t6 with the 3.0ttI6 and 4 speed automatic. I think it had 45k miles on it when i got it and 126k when it was traded.
I actually didnt like the whole automatic awd thing anytime below freezing.
Problems were the brake relay thing in the rear fuse panel causing them to not work, an easy fix with a small hand near by, and the sunroof seal causing the drains to clog and water working its way down to the ecu and ruining the ecu and harness. Common problem im told but volvo fixed it for free so i wont complain.
I lucked out with the transmission apparently they are junk on this particular model.

Dad has one. The thing is pretty decent but you can already feel the lack of repairability in modern cars with this one.
>Reaching some coolant-related areas on D5 require literally sawing off pieces of metal off the engine to get a good reach, unless you want to take engine fully apart
>Broken onboard computer is a common issue with Volvos, soldering the faulty stuff doesn't necessarily fix it
>Broken tail gate latch is very hard to fix with fat fingers
>OBD doesn't help much with diagnosing AWD issues, for whatever reason the step recommended to start off is going ahead and replacing ABS pump before having a look at anything else

Volvos are bulletproof IF you follow the maintenance schedule.
