How often do you actually check your mirrors?I only do it when I'm changing lanes or merging, but some people swear they check every 5/10 seconds continuously as they drive. What the hell are you looking for back there? You're moving forwards, not backwards
>>28645717Establishing spacial awareness, so that if I have to do something in an emergency, I have an idea of what's around me before looking.
>>28645717i have ADHD, extreme paranoia coupled with ridiculously good peripheral vision and I ride motorcycles AND I have a CDL. I check my mirrors a lot but also get a pretty good feeling for when cars are coming up on me and can usually spot a retard from several hundred yards ahead of me so I know who to watch out for when passing.
>>28645717you're a bad driver.
>>28645717Yeah then you change lanes and hit someone and say you "never saw them"
>>28645717im basically constantly staring into my rear view mirror op thanks for asking
>>28645717Always. That and my instrument panel.
Yeah i also look behind me too much, not sure why maybe just autism
>>28645717at a certain point you're just using every mirror unconsciously to keep a mental map of your surroundings updated right
>>28645717I'm looking out for cars that are generally driven by specific demographics who can't drive so I can keep a mental map in my head whom to avoid and how to create space. I don't want to crash because the follow up takes up too much time or be injured/die.
I usually just wait until I see movement in on of my mirrors then check to see what it is. Although that’s really only the driver side and rear view. I never look at the passenger side unless I’m moving to the right.
>>28645717I operate heavy mobile equipment and drive backwards more than forward so it is habit.
>>28645967Dullards don't have the mental bandwidth to do this.
>>28645803>>28645967exactly. I don't time myself because I'm not an autist, but I do regularly check mirrors while I'm driving for better spacial awareness. it's also nice to know with some degree of certainty when people are directly adjacent me if I have to perform an emergency swerve or braking without needing to first check my surroundings in that immediate momentI'll admit I'm often lax with my rear view because I'm frequently going faster than the majority of traffic when able
>>28645717you never know when some vaxxie npc has a stroke out of nowhere and starts flooring their 5 ton cuckover EV at full speed right in your asshole
>>28645717Constantly scanning. I wpuld say that within every 10 seconds span, I have checked each mirror at least once, and have head checked to one side or the other.
>>28645717Jesus you're a retard, please sell your car and just take an uber everywhere.
>>28645717>I only do it when I'm changing lanes or mergingThat's dumb. You should watch other vehicles more. You can tell when bad drivers are around just by glancing at the mirrors. People drive all retarded and cross lines, on the phone, etc and you can see it before they make it you and your insurance company's problem.
>>28645717Probably every 5-10 seconds. I'm used to driving big vehicles with lots of blind spots and it becomes a habit. I also do it because I'm speeding 99% of the time in my personal vehicles and am constantly on the lookout for cops. This is why I don't get speeding tickets. Also the average drivers brain is so rotted and driving has got so bad that you constantly need to be on the lookout at all times. It's got to the point where you need to be looking at the race, gender, make and model for every vehicle within your vicinity, not just what you see out the front.
>>28645717Constantly and that's why I rarely get pulled over. Not checking mirrors is NPC behavior and why people hog lanes driving too slow in them.
if Im in the fast lane I check to see that there isn't somebody barreling towards me at 100+ mph
