this is my first time playing the franchise, i didnt have much expectations (how do you game-ify highway pulls?) but its alright/10. majority of the gameplay the game just decides if you win or not. very little to no skill is involved and many races just end like webm related.

I remember there was a track in NFS High Stakes ( I think it was Celtic Ruins) and to get ahead I always just plowed straight through the first corner when all others were already braking and since NFS opponents usually drove almost exactly the same especially in the first seconds I always plowed into one of the first guys in the curve to neatly

It's alright. It's really cool seeing TXR finally come back, but there is a lot of these niggly details that keep it from being one of the all time greats of the series. The over all balancing and difficulty is pretty disappointing, it's not that these games were ever super difficulty but the full release now definitely feels a lot easier than the EA. There is also the car handling and balancing with how tiered and arbitrary they are. I'm not a huge fan with how tiered the cars are, and how it really limits them and their upgrade potential, and it all feels so arbitrarily decided. I know it's an arcade game but still, the older games had much more reasonable performance and upgrade potential, for example in TXR3 the 180SX or S13 are both starter cars, and they can last you almost most of the game as long as you upgrade them, in TXR2025 they will always just be stuck in low tier now matter what. It's even more egregious when you consider cars like the old Skylines or the old Supra that by all expectations should be viable end game cars if upgraded but now they are just mid-tier cars, not even good mid-tier cars either, they get beaten by the Yaris. Also not having any working aero, or having hoods and front bumpers improve engine cooling is really disappointing.

Another thing is the "AI improvements", it's not that they ever improved the "intelligence" of the AI during the EA to make them avoid traffic and coalitions, it's just that they gave the AI near infinite grip. The way they can swerve and change directions now just looks ridiculous, and it takes a lot of the excitment out of the races when the AI now has near perfect traffic avoidance (unless you manually push them in to other cars) and it makes the racing feel a lot more artificial.

Because I've been thinking of a sim rig for a while now. About to pull the switch. CSL DD R2D kit is at 400 euro. Is this a good starting point because I can stretch it more if it's worth it, I borrowed my friend's G29, it was fun but if it's the absolute entry one then the other ones must be great.
And I don't know about everything else, I'm a bit of a lazy ass to construct a cockpit for myself so I would probably buy one.

I'm in stage 4 in TXR, I decided to start from scratch after early access.
I can't even remember the last time I was so addicted to a videogame.
