Volkswagen is a failed brand. They gave up after the Touareg didn't sell in America (and it didn't sell because they cheaped out and used an ultra-heavy steel chassis instead of an aluminum one). They realized "Porsche" which is just tarted up VW's usually on RWD platforms makes much more money and they can sell individual options for thousands each to fools with more money than taste who want branding and prestige so they just gave up on VW and Audi and the only cars they even half-try on are Porsche still and even then Porsche is an ULTRA conservative brand and so it's pretty muted.

They clearly have the capacity for high fashion designs, but they gave up. Dieselgate didn't help but that was regulators' fault for making diesel regulations too strict and requiring expensive urea refills super often (every few thousand miles if you tow), and everyone else who sold diesels was cheating too .
Have you seen the "new" audis? No new platforms for combustion models (PPC is not new its a revised MLB version 3), interiors are slightly nicer VW spec and the current VW spec is dismal and corporate.

A r36 swap to an r32 is a wild way to spend money.

MK4 looks SO much better though

Like that matters to americans. It was too expensive, a premium VW. And small. You need big and cheap (atlas).
My mom just bought a diesel tiguan btw ask me anything

>It was too expensive
they wouldn't have cared if it were aluminum and thus not quite so porky and gas guzzling
>and small
it wasn't that small?
tiguan is fucking awful just slop as a car

I drove a TCR a few months back and had a blast in it. I'll be getting a mk7 or 7.5 R soon, just not sure which. Anything in particular you don't like at all, or something you liked that people typically don't mention?

I have pic rel since 2022 and it's a mk7, i would recommend you that you get a mk7.5 and try finding TCR or performance pack.

>something you liked that people typically don't mention?
Man it's very versitile, i'm a videographer so i can full the car with camera equipment and after 5 hours it's back to normal and you can go on dates. I like it a lot.

Fuck yeah, anon. Very nice. All of my cars have been black and I'm torn on whether to get black or white (if I had the choice). Black is real nice on these. And I agree, the overall space is great and interior and exterior design are top-notch. Far too many cars are too busy or 'aggressive' which I abhor. The versatility as you mention I agree, hence why I'd like to get one when I sell my current beast (as much as I love it, 10 years of coupe V8 ownership, time to move on). But for sure getting 5 door. I refuse to get a 2/3 door again that has seats in the rear too.

Does yours have the digital or analogue dash? I'm still torn on this but IIRC they're rather interchangeable but I haven't looked into it in depth.

Dates? I drive the mk6 golf variant and get no hoes. I got the diesel version too wtf gives
>>
>>28647291
They don't make 2 door mk 7.5 here in NA. I don't know why I ever bought a 4 door GTI. It doesn't look bad and it functions the same but the sleek, cool factor is totally killed by it. I never have passengers either
>>
>>28646464
Lmao imagine turning this in as a school essay or leaving it as a note on someone's door without any context
>>
>>28646464
Imagine going through all the work of swapping an R36 engine into an MK4 just to get gapped and raped by a yobo in an MK5 with a shoddy tune.

also I think they incorporated more aluminum into the body of the next-gen (gen 2) cayenne it was just the first one that was super heavy along with the touareg and phaeton I think they all shared a platform
