Used cop car just a money pit or a good investment?
budget for a cam swap and top end rebuild or get a detective's cara georgia policeman once told me that the chargers are very well liked performance wise but they just aren't very durable and the idle hours fuck the cams. on the other hand they are otherwise better taken care of than a crown vic because they spend more time in the shop.
>>28647823>Part Deuxwait where was part 1?anyway yeah they're great. r*dditors like to cry about high idle hours but it's actually not that big a deal (exception to some big city dept's that put truly unholy amounts of idle hours on cars). 5.7 chargers are great. It's likely already had cams done already if they were an issue, and if they weren't an issue then they're unlikely to go bad. The who idle hours eating cams is a bit misinformed, Chrysler had a batch batch of lighters that affected virtually all cars & trucks with 5.7 engines (something like 2.5-5% of all engines were affected in total).
