Putting a cherry bomb on my 96 ranger. Should I bother welding? Are clamps good enough or will welding offer a significantly better connection?
>>
>>28649988
Yeah clamps are fine with properly fitting pipes, a lot of exhausts used to com that way back in the day and I've had some that were very hard to pull apart even with the clamp removed.
Actually I think that's probably the main reason everyone moved to flanges.

Doesnt matter.
You'll never be able to hear the leak over the God awful hollow fart noise.
>>
>>28649999
I second that clamps usually bent the fitting together making them just as permenant as welding, usually easier to use in tight spaces than a welder

Mine was held on by a ratchet strap.

nice idea, did you come up with it yourself? no ones ever come up with sawsall'ing their perfectly functioning exhaust to stick on a glass pack, not even any tail pipe or anything. everyone will be super impressed with your 4 cylinder screaming even louder down the street, especially the ladies.

ok so instead of being the retard that puts a glass pack on their rusted exhaust, get a new oem exhaust

Clamps. Easier to remove when it rots off the car.

Just use some zip ties.

Even if glasspacks added 5 hp, i wouldn't run them, the sound is awful.

Anon, don't be a bitch.

Get Purple Hornies instead.

What's the difference? I'm reading through and they seem to be pretty much identical with the purple being a bit louder
>>
>>28651733
there is no fucking difference, the only thing they did that was unique was they would sell you one with the 3" header flange already welded on to the muffler which is a race-car only thing, however everyone else selling glasspacks does this now so now they're not really special at all.
