The GTS is roughly equal to an M3. Sorry anon. It’s just a fact. In terms of character and intent and philosophy it’s just how Porsche does it. The 7 series and a turbo are also the same. Big power in a luxury car except the 911 is a 2+2 and small. BMW doesn’t offer a similar car. The GT3 is developed by an completlyy different team and is closer to a race car than a Carrara. BMW doesn’t sell anything like that either. The GT3 is as close to a super car as Porsche will go and truly the RS models are the only ones I’d consider to be in that category simply due to the 911 using cheap steel all the way up the price ladder until the RS badges appear. Even a seven series has carbon fiber in the chassis why doesn’t a 911? Well the answer is because people pay for the badge and not quality. Sorry dude. Nothing about an un optioned base 911 is actually better than an M340i. Even if for some reason you value the rear engine over the bmw front middle you’re still open diff and lower power. Currently you cannot option a 911 much bc if simplifying the production line but you could use n old days get all the options on a base engine (911 T) and have a decently cool C2.
