With the Escape cancelled, dealers are desperate to get rid of them before the end of the year and are offering crazy 30% discounts. And yeah, I know, "but its GAY! it's a KEKOVER! it's other BUZZWORDS!" But it's also a great daily driver with a decent suite of features, a bulletproof 250hp engine, and the depreciation is already knocked off. I could drive it worry free for 5 or 6 years and still sell it for probably 18-20k.

My ex has a 2013 Escape she got new and it's been a pretty solid vehicle desu. I think you're a little overly optimistic about the resale value though.

>With the Escape cancelled
It evolved into the Bronco Sport. But it is a pretty okay solution, and I also think that the hybrid Escape is actually a RAV4 in Ford clothing.

>30% off
>still $25,000

waaay too much
>>
>>28655674
>No ventilated seats

why should you buy one over a mazda cx50/cx5

no seriously
>>
>>28655860
>no seriously
If the discount is steep enough, that's the only reason. It's not a particularly strong seller for Ford.
>>
>>28655860
I've had ventilated seats in multiple cars and it's so severely overrated. Never once have I ever been glad to have it.

If you're looking for a new car for your girlfriend, this is a good deal. Otherwise might as well get anything else. Small compact cars get better gas mileage, there's better, roomier crossovers and SUVs out there for about the same price from other "meh" tier brands on the same quality level as Ford, like Mazda, Subaru, etc. And no, no one is gonna pay you 18-20K for this thing in 5 years. You'll be lucky to get 14K

There's a reason why they stopped doing them, it's not just Ford being stupid.

Pretty much. It's a car that does car things. It's completely outshined by other competitors like the RAV4 and Outback to the point where people don't even know this car is still sold to this day.

>I could drive it worry free for 5 or 6 years and still sell it for probably 18-20k.
That's what they want you to think
>>
>>28655674
nigga at that price i could buy 3 used cars and live off them for the next 10 years, it doesn't even get exceptional gas mileage
>>
>>28656444
At that price, most of your used cars are nearing end-of-life anyways.
>>
Bulletproof motor and a glass automatic transmission. These are a very easy skip
>>
>>28656480
I'd spring for the hybrid though. It's essentially a cloned Toyota planetary gear CVT.
>>
>>28655674
fuck off sneed ford of kansas, im not buying your shitboxes
>>
>>28655995
as a fatass I love my RX’s ventilated seats
>>
>>28656476
if they are toyotas they are middle aged, even if i only got 75k miles out of each of them its still cheaper than buying a new car
>>
>>28655674
there's like 20 land cruisers on bat under $25 rn...
>>
>>28656534
>sneed ford
still waiting for a local anon to jack some of those plate frames
>>
>>28656571
Are any of them under 150k miles?
>>
>>28656582
is your internet broke?
>>

I'm tired of shitty old cars. I have two right now. Why have 3 shitty old cars that are constant pains in the ass when you can have 1 nice reliable one and then 1 shitty old car on the side for whatever
>>
>>28655674
>250hp
Weed eater motor
>>
>>28657132
It's a commuter crossover. Not a racecar. Plus the 2.0L is a brilliant engine and you can get 300hp from it with a tune. I had a Focus ST for years before upgrading to a RS. It's one of the best 4 cylinders of all time.
>>
>>28655674
>25k
Nah, make it under 20k

The base models are around 20k but they only have the 3 cylinder and obviously no options/worse interior.

Anon, we're trying to stop this retard from spending money on meaningless vehicles. Not trying to get him to waste his money on an even more meaningless vehicle from a brand that is a meme for rich people.

>6k redline
>Peak power just off idle
Lol fuck that shit
>>
>>28655995
From what I hear noone except Lincoln does ventilated seats that are noticeably good.
>>
>>28657749
That's a nice stock dyno imo. Power actually translates to acceleration more as it takes engine speed into consideration. Peak torque is just off idle where you want it and peak power is at 5k. Learn math.
>>
>>28655860
My wife wanted either the CX5 or an Escape. I drive a Focus and we got the Mazda because it's flat out better than the escape. CX50 Hybrid would be great, but traded that CX5 in for an Odyssey. Wish Mazda made 2014-2016ish hybrid version of their MPV.
>>
>>28657749
>Peak power just off idle
are you actually critiquing a powerband when you don't know the difference between power and torque?
>>
>>28657840
anon's buspass fell out of his pocket
>>
>>28655674

I had a rental base model with the base 3cyl engine and it was gay as fuck. maybe a good car for a teenage girl but thats about it

Four years ago I was joking about most common Murican car being Ford EcoSport, now V8 Mustang SUV is more likely.
