Have you ever been radar trapp'd?
How much did you have to pay?
>>
a hammer, bullet, or can of spray paint all cost virtually nothing compared to a speeding ticket

this but unironically

No, but I've had 9 speeding and 2 reckless tickets. Fuck cops that run laser. I ditched my radar detector and haven't had a ticket in 11 years now.

somewhat related, i would love to ask those nutjobs that tried to take down the 5G towers what they think about the literal cameras watching the road that for all they know could be recording their each and every movement without them ever knowing

fun fact: filling the box with spray foam also destroys it

>>FUCK anyone trying to enforce safe and reasonable driving
if you truly wanted to fuck them you'd just put more marked cops on the roads.
>>
>>28657887
Average US city has 2.3 cops per 1000 residents, meaning when you factor in desk jockeys and shift timing, you've got like 1 officer per 5000 people. Could dedicate all of them to just driving around in traffic and it still wouldn't be nearly enough coverage.
Speed cameras are a cost- and personnel-effective way of ticketing niggers. Punishes them for their shitty retard driving and funds the police without it coming from my tax dollars.
>>
>>28657891
your tax dollars still pay for the cameras though. and this all just tells me it was never about safety to begin with lol.
speed cameras only punish after the fact. the kind of maniac that does 80 in a 25 zone in the first place more than likely isn't gonna give a shit about some ticket in the mail two weeks later.
>>
>>28657901
A camera is leagues cheaper than employing and equipping a cop.
All law enforcement punishes after the fact, that's how it works. This isn't Minority Report, you don't get arrested for shit before you do it. Even the densest nigger either eventually realizes that his reckless driving is costing him money, or gets his license/registration suspended and ends up arrested for it.

>Hmpfh I am a WHITE MAN!
>I do like needless government intervention that only serves to pad their own wallets!
You're not white, you're a sissy who wishes to have less rights
>>
>>28657910
yeah no shit cameras are cheaper, that's why they use them, because safety was just the perfect excuse to plop one down and watch the cash roll in. regular people just slow down for speed cameras then speed back up again after. compare that to how people drive when there's a cop in their midst
>>
>>28657861
I live in the boonies. There's never traffic. What's dangerous to other people about going 130 on an empty road? I've never hit anyone in 20 years even with that ticket count. Honestly, what's wrong with that? You just look for excuses to call people niggers on an anonymous board and are scared of driving, bitch.
>>
>>28657916
>needless
The point is keeping browns like (you) off the road
If you'd ever driven somewhere not full of niggers or Americans (spiritual niggers) you'd understand
>>
>>28657919
>I haven't hit anyone yet, that means I will never hit anyone and it is impossible for me to envision a situation where I might hit anyone
nigger-tier lack of hypothetical thinking

Alright, then what's your problem with the cameras? Surely draining money from retards too stupid to slow down for them is better than that money coming out of your pocket in taxes, no?
>people just slow down for speed cameras then speed back up again after
This can still be a safety benefit if the camera is well-placed, at a specific spot where going too fast is an issue. In front of schools, etc.
>>
>>28657929
The white man loves being micromanaged by the state
>>
>>28657943
Yes, this has always been the case, and it's a good thing

School zones i have no problem with. At that point the annoyance is when it's outside of school hours and people still think that they'll get a ticket for doing 35 in a 35 zone. Or at least here, when it's school holidays and people still slow right down for a school zone that isn't even active.
But to be honest I think it's better to just drill into kids to respect automobiles and the road, to not get complacent around them.
But the gripe that myself and everyone has with them is that they are - way more than they aren't - placed in spots where they KNOW people won't be paying attention to their speedo, they're watching the road ahead and the surrounding environment makes them feel like they're going slower than they actually are.
People will drive at the speed they're most comfortable at; if everyone on a particular stretch of road is speeding, the limit needs to be raised, not a speed camera.
>>
>>28657951
>placed in spots where they KNOW people won't be paying attention to their speedo
Yes, because they're there to remind you to pay attention to your speedo
Same reason they put "no loitering" signs in places people loiter
>>
>>28657957
they're not paying attention because there's not much reason to - visibility is good, there's no real reason to drive as slow as they have to. but the limits that were set when the korean war was in full swing won't be touched so it's an easy cash cow
>>
>>28657962
Agreed on all points.
>>
>>28657962
There's always reason to pay attention while driving. If uncomfortably slow speed limits are what it takes to get people to look at the fucking road, then it's a good thing.
>>
>>28657985
>If uncomfortably slow speed limits are what it takes to get people to look at the fucking road, then it's a good thing.
all that does is increase frustration and by extension the chances of road rage incidents or reckless driving
>>
>>28657307
Got caught doing 95 in a 65 (was actually slowing down from 110+), paid less than $50 because the ticket printer wasn't working so I got a fix-it ticket for an "obscured license plate".

Which one is the most and which is the least safe?
>>
>>28658174
Trick question. None of them are safe compared to looking at the road ahead of you so you can predict the next 5-10 seconds of traffic/hazards and adjust your driving accordingly
>>
>>28658203
It isn't. First option does not require you looking anywhere besides the road, that's why I added it.
>>
>>28658246
Sure, but it's paying attention to your speed IN RELATION to your driving conditions that really matters.
While the speed limit for most roads is annoyingly low under normal circumstances, there are many situations that warrant going significantly slower than the limit
>>
>>28658258
Exactly. But you don't need the speedometer readings to make sure you're not going too fast for the driving conditions. You only need them to conform to the speed limits if they are strictly enforced.

Good luck doing any of that shit to a mobile radar
>>

>But you don't need the speedometer readings to make sure you're not going too fast for the driving conditions.
sometimes that means you settle at 140-150 when the legal limit is 120
>>
>>28658569
Yeah, and in places without strict enforcement it's not going to result in a fine.
>>
>>28658567
apparently in nsw mobile speed camera operators would regularly get harassed and have their vehicles vandalised. kinda surprised me to be honest given how people here tend to not take things into their own hands. i guess that's why when i saw a job listing for one the pay was like 80k a year or some shit
