>150 hp with low-down electric torque, so plenty peppy
>RWD, and can turn off nannies to ride it raw
>double wishbone on the rear
>has achieved cheap shitbox status and even has aftermarket
It's baisically a 21st century Miata. Why don't you buy one and drift it on the twisties? It's a great return to the golden 90s, before you got 300 horsepower Camrys and 600 horsepower Teslas running around. More than enough car to have fun with.
>>
>>28657313
It doesn't have enough range to get to my fun roads.
>>
It had like an 85km range. The point of a city car is that you can leave the city once in a while. It was also like 45k
>>
>>28657313
Not sold in US sadly, I love how cute it looks
>>
looks like shit, same problem as any car made after 2005

Rather disappointing compared to the concept they showed.
>>
>>28658186
Holy shit, the whatever shitbox we got is much better looking than that monstrosity.
>>
>>28657313
>less than 80km range
Just walk, you fat bastards! Use that money to buy something else. This thing can't go anywhere.
>>
>>28657329
>The point of a city car is that you can leave the city once in a while.
The point of a city car is to get people slowly used to the idea of 15 minute cities and entry/exit permits. Short-range electric cars are just another part of the plan.
>>
>>28657313
they don't sell it here + it's expensive + minuscule range
>>
>>28657313
>expensive
>electric, so heavy and more expensive to repair
>no manual
>shit range
I'll admit it's cute but it's a hard sell when a regular car can still do everything this car can but better.
>>
It was immensely expensive and had very short range. The good looks couldn't really cover those drawbacks.
>>
>>28657313
It has no fucking transmission it has 1 gear only. That torque will feel like a vehicle with 2/3rds of it but 3 speeds.
Get fucked.
>>
>>28657313
Needs a K20.
>>
>>28658186
Looks hideous. Also zero chance that such a thin roof and pillars could survive a rollover.
>>
>>28658450
15 minute cities sound great. Who wants to drive half an hour to get something?
>>
>>28658954
cars are much stronger than you think
>>
>>28658450
Oh no, living and working in your local community, how diabolical.
>>
>>28658918
>It has no fucking transmission it has 1 gear only.
>retard doesn't know what a transmission is
>>
>>28657329
>>28658450
People don't buy city cars as their only mode of transport if they don't have a reliable way of traveling outside their city when they need/want to, unless they're just fucking retarded. My car works great as a daily and for road tripping, my wife only drives her car at most 10-20 miles a day. We don't need two cars for road trips.

Ironically the retards who screech the loudest about how these types of cars are a scam by the jewluminati to lock them into their cities are inevitably poor uneducated retards who just can't fathom the possibility of something like owning two cars.
>>
The concept version was soulful as fuck with the sharper lines evoking the old Civic, that ultra high visibility with the glass, and that sexy fuckin full bench seat. I hate that good designs never survive to production.
>>
>>28658993
>>28658186
>When you want the donk look but can only afford 18's.
>>
>>28657313
they do not sell it where I live. If they did, I would have a honda E and not a cedric GTU. It's rare I need to travel more than 50km a day so it would work fine for me, and I thought it was cute.

>only viable as a vehicle if you believe in breakthrough in batteries in nearest future
>like 2.5 units sold worldwide
I see no reason to buy one. Maybe find some in factory new condish to resell it 20 years later to some crazy collector, but if i liked to gamble that much i'd go to vegas.
>>
>>28658450
Since nationally supported car companies powered by nationally owned or supported oil companies, driven on publicly funded roads and requiring a national drivers license are an example of technology that isn't tied to government policy and ability to control movement.
>>
>>28659020
>only viable as a vehicle if you believe in breakthrough in batteries in nearest future
no idea what in the actual fuck you're trying to communicate here ESL-kun. Are you just attempting a poor dig at electric cars in general, or are you somehow implying that if battery technology had a breakthrough after you bought one of these it would magically make the car you already bought "viable" ?(whatever you mean by that, since the vehicle already exists and works as advertised)

ok, let's say that you are right and this IS indeed a modern Miata
it's the fucking battery, guaranteed about 15 years, and it was released in 2020
so about 10 years of fun then out into the dumpster

no thanks
>>
>>28658207
I've seen a grand total of TWO of these faggot cars here in Osaka in the years since it was raleesed. It's dog shit and expensive as FUCK for the Japanese market. Nobody wants to spend 6 million when they can just get a Sakura EV for like 2 million.
>>
>>28658207
the screenmeme shit that was never going to survive the concept aside, the body design there is choice you faggot
>>
>>28659576
>so about 10 years of fun then out into the dumpster
Or just rebuild the fucker with all new cells that will be cheap as balls by then. And that's assuming the battery is actually degraded enough to need to by then, being out of warranty doesn't mean it's just gonna stop working the next day retard.
>>
Damn that shit weighs more than my 2019 WRX base which already feels like a million pounds off the line with 100 more hp
>>
>>28659603
EVs don't feel heavy coming off the line because they shit all their torque out right from go. Even a FUCKING LEAF can gap all the but the highest end shitboxes going zero to like 40ish before they're catch it and overtake.

They turned it into a kei car with a normal dash.
The cost is a bit more sane, but it's still nearly double the cost of the non-electric variant.
>>
>>28659596
N'wha, they even use a basic Lithium-ion
IT WILL DIE
THEY HAVE A SPECIFIC LIFESPAN (regardless of how it was stored)
after market? completely dead (naturally) after 10-15 years, so the ONLY option here is to modify one with whatever the market is using after a decade from now (probably soudion-ion) if that is even possible

Just wished Honda decided to update it with newer batteries instead of just killing it. It's one of the best modern EV designs, but now the Renault 5 gets all the glory.

>>28659747
That's pretty cool.
>>
>>28660056
batteries don't just die because of age, they die because of improper storage and/or total charge cycles. It's entirely feasible for a battery to be kept in good working condition long past its estimated lifetime depending on how it's used and stored, but regardless it will always be possible to replace the battery cells in the pack. The common Li battery chemistries of today are not going to just suddenly disappear one day even if something else becomes the new standard in the future, at worst they might become harder to source but there will be suppliers, and in the VERY WORST case, you could replace the whole thing with a new chemistry and shove a new BMS in there as needed. These things really are plug and play if you know what you're doing, the car ultimately does not care what is supplying it electricity as long as you have everything hooked up to talk to each other properly and the nominal pack voltage is correct.
>>
>>28657313
twistie roads are not worth driving without the ability to downshift and nobody can change my mind. Autotragics and EVs are so fucking soulless to drive.
