Why don't they sell these in freedom land?
>>
They tried but no one wanted to drive a frufru french car.
>>
>>28657710
They do with rebadged Nissans.
>>
>>28657710
They used to. Renault had a deal with AMC to sell their cars through AMC's dealer network, which came to a halt when Chrysler corporation bought AMC, and eventually terminated all their brands except for Jeep.
>>
Their cars are simply not cut for the american market. The biggest Captur can't fit a single american.
>>
>>28657804

Funny how when ever I go to America I am always looking down on even the whypeepo, however my first car was a Renault Clio
>>
>>28657710
>Why don't they sell these in freedom land?
They used to in the form of the Smart Fortwo since the last gas propelled iteration was based off the shared development of the Twingo.

In there people only buy the biggest truck or SUV they could find at the dealer, small econoboxes don't sell well there, although if gas prices were the same as in europe, almost all american car brands would disappear overnight.
>>
>>28657710
The names alone are so fucking gay that most people would never consider one. Really? A Clio? That sounds like a fucking vibrator.
>>
>>28657732
/O/ldguy here. I remember when they were being offered.
They were decent cars, but they had terrible product support.
AMC almost treated them as an afterthought, and a lot of dealers just would not work on them. Yugo's were treated the same way.
The independent shop I worked in always had issues just getting parts for them, and factory service info was unobtanium.
>>
>>28658329
Did you get the Forfour? That's what they rebadged the mk3 Twingo from.

Mutts can't appreciate a good small car because they're all so fat. The smallest thing they'll touch is a BMiniW or a nuBeetle which btw everyone in Europe agrees they're both too big. You tubs of lard can't even squeeze into a GR Yaris, forcing Toyota to rape the Corolla into a faux rally vehicle so you won't get envious.
>>

Ponder the aroma.
>>

No one cares about Europe, they can't even afford cars anymore.

>>
>>28659965
Still better than paying annual tax for literal air.
>>
>>28659969
Who the hell is paying for air in Europe?
>>
>>28659991
Almost everyone?
Most of these countries base annual road tax (and sometimes import tax and other duties as well) on CO2 emissions with hundreds of grams per kilometer in some test being "high". While every person breathes out ten times that every day.
>>
>>28658310
It's a goy thing mate, don't try to make sense of it. They're so obsessed with keeping up with the joneses and projecting status that they absolutely need the biggest cart they can, even if they must go in debt for it.

>>
>>28660006
Human CO2 output is part of a very short loop within the biosphere. Fossil fuels and their combustion products are not. Comparing the two is meaningless.
>>
>>28660060
>uhhh it's akshully completely different
Is that the cope they feed Yuropeons with?
>>
>>28660072
Nope, that's basic logic and reason. If that is beyond you, you may cope by calling it whatever you wish.
>>
>>28660085
>Nope, that's basic logic and reason
Something so "basic" should've been discovered long ago, but even in the 1980s it was "global cooling" every eco-shithead was so afraid of. Don't pretend it's just a scam to make people feel guilty and extract more shekels, and the next step would be to tax people themselves for breathing. I mean who needs trees? They are carbon traps too, and carbon is suddenly bad.

It also not a concern that other regions of the world or even singular countries produce way more tree food than Europe (per unit of area, per capita or just in total, you name it), or that all passenger cars combined produce way less than other industries or even modes of transportation.
It's purely because European (((politicians))) tricked the citizens into guilt, and the said citizens have something they can pay with, especially those who still can afford personal transportation. There is no other reason for it. Everything else is just an excuse.
>>
>>28659927
americans know that a big car is more comfortable and luxurious regardless of the size of the driver.
euros are buck broken and think anything luxurious must be bad for the environment and therefor banned and shunned.
>>
>>28660150
>negros and assorted turdoids shit up the environment so it's ok if we do it too
This is negroid thinking, anon. You can do better than that. You should be able to do better than that.
>>
>>28660060
How much CO2 did the volcanic action of Greenland produce last year?
>>
>>28657710
They got no dealer networks and besides few Americans who remember them from the 80s no one knows what Renault even is.

Even Peugeot and Citroen won't expand to USA even though they could much more easily, since they could just sell their cars at Stellantis dealers.
>>
>>28657710
That reddit shit normie white racism meme about le gross french
>>
>>28660348
>the volcanic action of Greenland
>Greenland
Does Greenland have active volcanoes now? If you meant Iceland, it was like 1-2% of annual human emissions, at least according to readings from NASA monitoring satellites.
The claim that volcanoes emit 100x what humans have ever produced is from a boomer Facebook disinfo post that seems to have mentally contaminated a significant number of semi-literates who care more about feeling right than being right.
>>
>>28660237
>it's okay to pay for turdoids' bad behaviour instead of making them pay or getting rid of them

You're huffing some copium if you believe that map is real, I pay 158€ per year on my Toyota MR2 and that tax is based solely on engine displacement
>>
>>28661503
It's got to be mixing up different kinds of vehicles, or confusing sale tax / VAT with annual vehicle tax, or something. I live in one of those countries, and my annual vehicle tax is about 100 euros. I don't know who would pay over 1000, certainly no average car owner.
Though considering what seem to be his other posts, the anon may not be too concerned with facts or accuracy, only "winning" his retarded arguments---by spraying his cognitive diarrhea over the facts until everyone else's stepped away in disgust.

Why do I need to pay tax for my car just sitting here?
>>
>>28662986
Can't you just unregister it if it's just sitting there?
>>
>>28663060
Is that legal?
>>
>>28661053
How old are you ? Seriously dude, you can identify yourself as "Superman" or "Spiderman" but that doesn't mean you should jump from the top of a skyscraper you know... You know what ? Do it, it should be fun.
>>
>>28663060
You can sorta do that if you know it's gonna be off the road for a while, but then you can't just leave it sitting in a public parking spot either
>>
>>28663067
It is in some countries. In my country it's easy enough: Log into the Ministry of Transportation's web site with some kind of strong id, select your car (it's listed there already if you legally own it) and click "Decommission". This will also pause its insurance. You can just click it back into commission later.
They might want a small fee for that + re-commissioning it later, but it's probably less than taxes and insurance.

>>28663102
Yeah, I think most people who do that have their own garage they keep their summer car / winter beater in when they're not using it.
>>
>>28663060
Doesn't it cost money and tax to register it again?
>>
>>28663222
Entirely depends on the country
>>
>>28662986
Because you obviously have more money to spare than people who don't own a car.
>>28663060
In some countries yes, but usually it's inconvenient or costly enough to prevent you from doing it more often than like once a year.

retard here, is it a tax for owning a vehicle or for registering/buying one?
>>
>>28663879
"God tier" is a bit much but I salute your taste : it's a very good small hatch, and one of the best bang for the buck in France.

2 drawbacks in my opinion, though :
- 4 banger
- FWD
And they don't make them anymore (fucking CO2 taxes)
>>
>>28664429
This tax has to be paid once for the life of the vehicle : first time you register it.
So there's no loophole anymore : if you bought a car and didn't pay the tax then (purchased used in Germany for exemple), the next owner will have to pay the tax (new owner = new registration in France).
This will fuck-up the second-hand market BIG TIME, especially for nice cars.
>>
>>28664358
Yeah, this is beyond retarded... Imagine buying a second-hand 911 and having to pay €70k in tax in addition to the price of your car...

there is no motor tax in france. this map is a lie
>>
>>28664358
So this is what actually prohibits any vehicle above 150 g of tree food per kilometer from being imported and registered in France. Almost any fun vehicle in other words.
I'm sorry for you Froganon, I hope you have some exemptions for classic vehicles at least.

>>28664429
In >>28662156 it's "registration tax" if once per owner or once per vehicle in a specific country/the entire EU and "annual tax" if it's every year. If not specified it's better to get to the source: https://www.acea.auto/files/ACEA_Tax_Guide_2022.pdf, I think that's the most recent one published. It's mostly accurate, but sometimes lacks detail.
>>
>>28664590
This map is what governments collect per registered vehicle per year on average, it includes other taxes as well as the road tax.
>>
>>28657710
I'm sure they will before too long. Brics makes NATO look weak. The NATO countries need to step up their game. Especially weak ass America that's about to self implode because of their orange tyrant.
>>
>>28657710
because they're shit?
