As someone not part of discussion, I got to give it to ZX4RR because it underpromises and overdelivers. R7 underperforms and is being presented as something it is not, it will always have the shameful stamp of a fraud on it even if it's not a bad bike.

Like a bored tryhard trying to beat dark souls with bananas as controllers, small cc bikes are only prioritized by experienced track riders because they want to challenge themselves by putting MORE effort to TRY and keep up with bigger bikes.

Beating dark souls with banana controllers doesn't make dark souls more fun, or make you a better dark souls player, etc. All it does is challenge yourself to achieve the exact same thing. Also bananas for a controller is cheaper than an actual controller so, if you broke and wanna larp like rossi then by all means ring out the tiny bug bikes.

It's a well known fact, anon. Maybe try to Google more. Track times are identical, the R7 makes more power when tuned and it's more reliable. An SV650 at the Isle of Man was seen like 10 years ago for the last time, MT-07 killed it, R7 cemented it

Engine is good, but it seems to be put to better use in something like MT07, T7 or Tracer 700, which all have a lot going over the R7 in different areas. Having tried MT07, I was pleasantly surprised on how smooth it is in comparison to Kawi's Z650. The only claim to fame R7 potentially has over other CP2 bikes is going faster, but why bother if you get completely mogged into oblivion by 20 year old shitbikes.

Oh and to get back to the topic, I find it amusing that the uncucked ZX4RR seemingly has higher top speed than R7. A bike with relatively large engine and fairings, topping out so low? A bit of a waste.

I like their sound and pull, but what puts me off mostly is how easy it is to start lugging the engine by dropping RPMs a bit too low, ironic for machinery that supposedly shines down low. I ride an old Bandit 600 and the thing remains smooth even when you fuck something up. Not to say the whole thing isn't just a skill issue.

>>28659008
No, just saw a screenshot posted by someone in an older thread. But why are you so defensive in the first place, justifying your purchase? A good sportbike usually has it's strengths on it's sleeve, you know what liters give you and you know what small cc screamers give you, this one just ain't either of those. I can honestly give all the same critique to something like Ninja 650 DESU. However, that one has comfier ergos, so you could say it somewhat fills role of a sport tourer.

>>
I don't get ADV helmets.
My friend just got a 2015 V-Strom 650 and he went full ADV Boomer. ADV Helmet, extra expensive ADV boots and jacket, and popped some boxes on that costs almost what he paid for the bike.
He mostly just rides to work like me, so that means he's 99% on the pavement, primarily highways.
The wind catches that stupid visor and pulls his head up. It's a little bit more annoying to attach a headset, and the aftermarket visor support is worse than most normal "street" helmets.
Seems to me it would make more sense to just have a normal street helmet made for faster speeds, and also have a dedicated off-road helmet and goggles for the one day of the year you take it on a gravel road.
Is it really just style? Seems to me it is.

Alright, bros. I finally chose a direction for the R6. I ordered an FZ09 clutch and throttle cable, dirt bike bars, and a longer front brake line. I want a sportsbike twin 100-150 hp. Insurance is the only limiting factor.
The RS660 is an option.
The Ducati Supersport 937 is pricey but just barely within reach.
The early baby Panigales 899/959 are what I really want but insurance is out of touch.
What do? Considering a vfr as a compromise because it's still a bit twinny sounding. Part of my soul says just park a Panigale in my house to keep ornamentally

kek. That's NPC mentality.
7.6% of the American population is gay (hundreds of thousands of people) so does that mean you're gay too?

Think about it. If you don't crash into people then you don't need insurance so focus on not crashing into people. Use your self-preservation instinct to not crash because if you do crash then you will get hurt because you're riding a motorcycle and not a steel cage on wheels. You do want to live don't you? You'll live a lot longer if you simply don't crash. So don't crash.

Thank me later.

Many stores including gas stations will ask you to remove your helmet if they can't see your face, so it saves you carrying it if you can't store it on your bike. Also having a quick drink or something to eat, a smoke or vape. Good for talking to people too, many a time I've pulled over to talk to a stranger about something and it's better for them to hear me and makes them more comfortable when they can see who they're talking to. And finally they're a little easier to put on.
>>
>>28659223
No man, you need insurance with bodily injury because if you DO go down, the first thing they're going to ask as they're loading you up onto a stretcher is who your primary care doctor is, and if you don't have bodily injury insurance, every microsecond past then will cost exponentially more than the bike is worth.

>JUST DON'T CRASH

>>
>>28659299
I take off my helmet and leave it on my mirror when I go inside a gas station. It just slips on and off over my head. It isn't hard to do. The effort is neglible. If I'm hot I just lift the visor and the wind blows through. If I want a drink or smoke it's going to take long enough I wouldn't want the helmet on anyway. Talk to people? I don't do that. I don't see any benefit of adding weight and complexity to a helmet so I can keep it on instead of taking it off when keeping it on is less comfortable than taking it off and taking it off is so easy already.

If you're helmet easily slips on and off then it may be a bit too large. Unless you're a fair weather rider there will be times when there's dirt on your mirrors, and if it's raining you might then be putting your wet head inside your helmet. You're also not going to leave your helmet on your bike when you go inside a store for more than the couple minutes it takes to pay for gas.
>I don't see any benefit of adding weight and complexity to a helmet
People like to bring this one up a lot, yet my modular helmet is lighter and has higher safety ratings than many full face helmets.

If it doesn't work for you, if you don't see the appeal, then that's fine. I was just explaining the reasoning that I and many other people have. They're not a solution in search of a problem, they have legitimate advantages.

Shoeis and Arais are just status symbols and I'm tired of pretending their not.
There are tons of helmets that are just as safe and you may find fit your head better or deal with wind noise better.
Take it from someone who got a Shoei in Japan because they were cheaper and has since just moved back to my regular Bell Helmets even though it should be good for another year since I got it a little under 6 years ago.
I've never had an HJC, but I have a friend that does and I've never heard him complain about wind noise during regular riding. He's had 3 or 4 HJC helmets since I've known him, so they must be at least good enough.

If you like how the HJC feels and it's safety ratings are at least comparable, get that instead. Even if wind noise is bad, a 20¢ pair of foam ear plugs will solve the problem for cheaper.

300cc and 400cc are plenty for most purposes unless you want to go 130mph+ I started with an XT250 and its like 73mph top speed and I still have tons of fun on it even on road. The bike I upgraded to was a CB500F and I get like 115mph out of that if I max it out but only have done once cause even 60mph is plenty fun if I'm going down twisty roads, you will get used to going fast in a straight line and it will feel the same way 60 did before you started speeding in a straight line.

- Goat leather, more pliable
- palm slider
- pinky webbing, if available, its good
- knuckle protectors
- CE rating, look for CE homologated, not CE rated parts.
- Full gauntlet, more protection, I got the short ones.

Let us know what you choose and good luck.

Cagie try to take less than a century just to change lane challenge: impossible.

>>
>>28659897
That sucks I know that feel. The more you do it it’ll become easy and fast, though. Don’t get discouraged
>>
>>28659983
No them changing lanes slow is legitimately a good thing. It makes them wat more predictable. Far better than inner city Atlanta with people contesting for lanes, Ice been hit and ran on twoce throufh there from people changing as fast as possible without checking their blid spots. I wouldn't take my bike through there.
>>
>>28660003
It can be, but there is a point where they become so slow that its an unpredictability in itself. Cagie in my video had his turn signal on from even before the start, and had room to move into that lane the entire time, honestly if he hadn't turned his signal on I could have just gone around him on the right and been out of there 10 seconds earlier.

I trust turn signals less than I trust car language, I've had people signal right and turn left. With a cagie any signal is a maybe.

Also you have to know whats going on ahead and where people want to go, on that street I know people are desperate to get into the right lane for the right turn, but also I know it always backlogs in the right lane, so people who don't want to take that right get stuck and are looking for any lane change to the left, its a risky area in general. Maybe the negros in a place like Atlanta are totally unpredictable, but the /pol/niggers think Jeets are worse, and thats all the people in the cars I was riding next to.

He did it the correct and safe way. You on the other hand need to ride smoother and more in flow with traffic. Also the speed is too high and gaps too narrow to lane split there. Don't become arrogant.

Nah, you can tell by how slow and gentle the turn was, cagie was just comatose like they always are; when you scare a cagie by splitting they usually react in two ways: they totally freeze, or they violently swerve away. The ones who aren't scared usually slowly drift towards you because they are watching you through their mirrors, which naturally makes them pull the wheel in that direction, part of why not being noticed by them is a good thing. You can see in the below vid that the cagie on the left notices me and makes the third split a lot tighter because of it:

https://litter.catbox.moe/1ap11ol8hmp2o4l6.mp4

Sometimes they will drift away from you when they notice, those are the better drivers. I think some of the cagies on that road are starting to recognize me though jej, I've seen a few start pulling way off to the side of the lane from like 100 feet away jej. Hopefully I catch it on camera next time, because it made me laugh like hell when I saw it happen like three times in less than 2 minutes. Like Moses splitting the sea of cagies through the process of daily traumatization.

Holy overconfidence. Nigger stop what you're doing immediately, you need to build up some good habits from ground up before you get gibbed. It's understandable when you have rough control over bike if you're new to it, but going way faster than the traffic inches away from you is just asking for it. The slow cagies ironically put more thought behind their actions than you do.

I guarantee I control my bike better than you, feel free to post how you ride in tight spots like this:

Honestly the stuff I've been posting is at pretty relaxed pace, haven't been in a super speedy mood lately ever since the rain came in for a bit there.

But anyway, I personally don't split, I filter. Think of it as you will.

>>28660088
Filtering is fine and you do crawl well, but I wouldn't blame cagers for mowing you down because of the way you do sharp braking after picking a lane.
>>
>>28660107
Filtering just works also getting in filter possition seems to answer my issue of lights not turning. If a car comes in there, it isn't an issue anymore and the light will change.

I'm thinking of inventing a crocs giblet that fits into one or two holes on your left Croc and protects it from getting abraded from the shift lever. It would basically be a plastic or foam pad just to be like armor in that small area. We all need something like this, right?
>>
So uh, what yall do to practice filtering

The only issue I have is accidentally clipping my mirrors with someone else's. No I won't delete them, I just gotta Git gud but I have yet to hear anyone lay down some tips on mirrior collision prevention. I can go inbetween things and around things great, but for whatever reason my spacial awareness kills itself when considering the two antenna protruding out
>>
>>28660202
>No I won't delete them,
NGMI Iass.

Can you not even turn them in? I know most people do that, I just got rid of them since they are useless anyways.
>>
>>28660202
If you clip your mirrors it doesn't matter. They're designed to fold in when that happens and won't break. Just keep driving fast in case you scratched the car's mirror so he doesn't catch you
>>
>>28660202
just fold your mirrors in? if they don't fold and they're that big of an issue get different mirrors that fold in

>I wouldn't blame cagers for mowing you down because of the way you do sharp braking after picking a lane.
To be fair, when I sharply brake in front of them I give myself only like a foot or two space in front of the next car, so really the cagie should have to do nothing out of ordinary since I'm only adding about 7~ feet of distance to whatever car was in front of them. Its why I'm right up in that dump truck's ass or the person in the first video, gives me less reaction time, but more for the comatose cagie behind me.

>>28660228
They fold, but when folded the mirriors interact with my bars a little too closely so they mess up my abililty to turn when folded. I also torque my mirrors down so the V twin doesn't back out the screws from vibrations so if I collide with something it will suck.

Maybe there's lower profile mirrors that still retain a decent amount of mirrior? I look over my shoulder but in a pinch glancing down at properly adjusted mirriors helps ALOT when hooning

Why would KTM do this.

I mean does pic related really suggest you would have to order 6? Who would need just one (1) dampener? Fuck brehs, I don't want to wait another gorillion years for this just to replace my fuarked ass chain and sprockets.
