The Dacia Hipster!
>>28659826/Thread
For the people who aren't all-electric fans, Dacia will launch a brand-new powertrain for its Duster and Bigster compact SUVs. It's a 4x4 hybrid powertrain which uses both gasoline and LPG (for an estimated combined max range of about 1400 km, or 900 miles). On the front axle, a 1.2 liter turbocharged engine with 140 HP, sending power through a 6-speed wet DCT. Tank capacity is 50 liters for each fuel. On the rear axle, a 31 HP electric motor sending power through a 2-speed e-clutch gearbox. An electric motor with a multi-speed gearbox is a novelty for a mass-market segment car. This will undoubtedly become the most expensive power unit in Dacia's offer, but it will help bring a bit of refinement to what is widely considered a budget brand.
It actually looks kinda neat
>>28659905>Bigsteri still can't get over this name, i love it.
>>28659933Have I mentioned that one of the models in their lineup (a reasonably successful one, at that) is called the Jogger?
>>28659817I would rather walk
>>28659944>JoggerBased Vlachs
Dacia had its place as absolute poorfag transportation brand that made easily fixable cheap cars. Now with their attempt to move up market (like all others) they become just one of many. Absolutely no reason to buy them anymore. Completely lost the point.
>>28659822Holy fucking shit does anyone else see it?We literally moved back in time 100 years with car design. We'll get 1980s cars again in about 50 to 60 years.
>>28659981Horse enjoyers, our time is near (again)
>>28659984horses are already having a come back in foresting work since they're cheaper to run, easy to maneuver in forest and do not fuck up the ground like heavy machinery.
>>28659984this mogs like 99% of all cars today.
>>28659981This was my exact thought when I uploaded that side shot. We Model T up in this bitch.
>>28659986And their "exhaust" actually helps the soil, instead of poisoning it.
>>28660026Technology literally peaked with horses. It just want all downhill since then.
>>28659817Feels like all this overdsigned shit actually increases the price while also reduces the interior.Dacia is supposed to be the People's car anyway and hipsters aren't people.
>>28660038I think it's supposed to be a sub-10k € kei car for a market where a minimum spec subcompact shitbox now goes for 15k or so. If that ever goes into production, they'll likely end up simplifying it a bit.The problem with these cheap people's cars is that they're meant for people with low standards, and for them the market has plenty of old French hatchbacks.
>>28660050>it's supposed to be a sub-10k € kei car Renault and Stellantis are lobbying for the introduction of a new Eurokei class, in-between the current "quadricycle" class (Citroen Ami) and the A class (Fiat 500, Suzuki Ignis, Toyota Aygo etc.) The Hipster was specifically designed for these new regulations (max length 3.4 meters, max width 1.5 meters, max height 2 meters).
>>28660057Yup. Wasn't the class also supposed to have reduced requirements for the mandatory "driver assistance" crap?I wish they'd just relax the assist requirements for anything below 1.5 to 2 tons. Shit works very poorly or is outright dangerous in places with snow, worn out road markings, and the sun lingering low above the horizon for most of the day. Everyone I know turns them off immediately on start because driving a car that's beeping and trying to steer itself into a ditch or into the center of the road kind of sucks.
>>28660078>Wasn't the class also supposed to have reduced requirements for the mandatory "driver assistance" crap? It is. The specs aren't final, but it's something like 2-4 airbags, ABS/TCS/ESP (they're a single module nowadays), reverse camera, and front radar. No lane departure warning, no blind spot alert, no driver awareness monitor, no rear radar etc.
>>28660038>while also reduces the interior. The Hipster was designed by Romanians, so it had to pass the "quarter pig" trunk space test. Admittedly, you can't use the trunk with people in the back, but the rear bench folds flat, and the resulting storage area has a massive volume for a kei car. Also, there was a car youtuber, a 6' phat phuque with size 12 shoes, who was able to relatively easily squeeze himself into the back seat, while a Renault presenter (also 6') got in the front passenger seat. This is because the front seats themselves are 2008 era office chair tier, tensioned mesh over a frame, no cushion or back shell. This adds about 1.5 extra inches of space for the rear passengers' legs. Also, the front seats are actually a pseudo-bench thing, joined together on a sliding rail (the passenger side folds forward to access the rear bench).
>>28660032Digging up oil is so much cheaper than growing fodder for a horse, so we only use cars for economic reasons. The actual technology is worse.
Total honda element victory
>>28660200grass just grows. for free. literally 0 costs
>>28659822Needs a little more glass. Looks good otherwise.
>>28660231This. In a tropical environment if you need to keep somewhere looking decent you just grow grass with a few ornamental trees and shrubs here and there. Maintenance is just cutting the grass once every other week during wet season and trimming the shrubs/trees once every 2 months. If you try the wild growth that people are touting these days you need to be in it every week for at least four hours because shit grows so fucking fast your whole house would be overgrown and termite ridden before the end of the year.
>>28660038>Feels like all this overdsigned shit actually increases the price while also reduces the interior.damn, you managed to "feel" completely wrong. impressively retarded, anon.
>>28660300The cheapest Sandero, which is an actual car, costs 13k€.How much is this 1/3 of a car going to cost?I'd rather buy a twingo.
>>28659817>hipsterlmao
>>28660318 >13k€It's about €15k without dealer rebates.
>>28659974>their attempt to move up marketDoesn't exist. They still use 10 years old Renault drivetrain. Everything they've added to their baseline poverty specs is required by law. The Hipster in OP is supposed to be a budget City car, one step above the Citroen Ami
>>28659817Looks good, but the name is godawful and I would avoid buying it solely because of it.
>>28659817>copying design from mediocre videogameit's not even funny at this point
>>28661398>They still use 10 years old Renault drivetrain. The hybrid 4x4 system launched this autumn for the Duster/Bigster is completely new. In fact, the only other vehicle in Renault Group's lineup which uses a hybrid 4x4 system with an electric rear axle is the Rafale flagship model.
>>28661436>cp>mediocre
>>28659986Hippie shit. Horses are absolutely horrible. Imagine being dumb enough to let your boss triple or quadruple your workload under the bullshit reason if ATVs not being maneuverable.
>>28660231>grass just grows. for free. literally 0 costsLol no it doesn't. Grass is the most cultivated crop in the world. You mother isn't paying Pedro JUST to pipe her down. The yard needs upkept too.All lawns in the US are a waste btw and would do more for the planet than banning all cars if we banned monocrop yards.
>>28661447take another copium pill, anon
>>28661453>Lol no it doesn't. Grass is the most cultivated crop in the world.Because americans are fucking retarded with their status symbols and absolutely NEED european grass in their lawns
>>28661453>>28661471Amusingly, a uniform lawn is a sign of terminal arrivism. Real richfags had manicured landscape gardens.
>>28659981>Born too late for 1967 Camaro>Born too early for 2067 Camaro
>>28659817>>28659818>>28659820>>28659822I'm genuinely impressed by how fucking ugly this is. It would be difficult to make a car this ugly if you tried.
>>28662161I'd rather have a violently ugly car than another eggslopmobile.
>>28659817Looks pretty fun as a cheap car to get around. Obviously a lot things make it impractical for a lot of journeys, but I could see my mum getting one to go shopping or something.I think cars like this are ideal for old people.
>>28662548>looks pretty funjesus please go back
>>28662550I dunno man. I had a little electric quad bike as a kid that went like 4mph and had plastic wheels, and riding that thing around occupies a pretty significant amount of my childhood memories. So, I kinda imagine it's just like that but bigger.
>>28662574>some gay blog shit i didnt readtight
>>28659822But does it have full self-driving so that I can be chauffeured around like a 1920s oil tycoon?
>>28659817>conceptSo the actual car will look like any other soap shaped shitbox.
>>28659817Somehow cool and ugly at the same time. Give it cat ears for max homosexuality.
>>28659905you're not a man if you drive a car that has smaller displacement than most bikes
>>28662596They have to keep the 1910-era-style two-box (literally) design, in order to maintain interior space.
>>28661449Haha damn rightOh sorry guys gotta stay late again mr horse needs brushies. Horses in forestry exist but its super niche hippie shit
>>28662522I'd rather have a twingeggslopmobile.
>>28662706That will be launched next year.
