Most people either don't have the garage/driveway space to store their previous cars as they wait for someone to buy it. They also may not have the funds to afford a new car without using the old one as collateral/down payment, or just think the old car is too much of an eyesore to keep around
>>
>>28660873
its mandated by law in a bunch of states

I don’t remember the last time I saw Matilda, probably 15 years but it was my first thought when I saw the image

Means manufacturers don’t have to deal with all the hassle of sales, warranty work, and recalls.
nobody ever acts like it’s weird that you can’t buy cheerios straight from general mills and have to go through a grocery store. Same with cars and a dealership.

How does Elon get away with it?
>>
>>28661172
it's state laws, not federal. the FTC actually recommended states allow direct sales in 2015.

>>28661389
he simply lobbied in each and every state for an exemption

Dick suck the president and never speak about epstien and youll be able to worm your way into anything.

>>28660873
The idea was to protect consumers from manufacturers doing fuckery the issue is it only made the fuckery happen from a new middleman rather than the source.

The federal laws around it was good intentioned, but terribly executed.

>Who even thought that selling cars via useless middlemen was ever a good idea?
The same people who thought getting your provisions from a supermarket, rather than having to go the the baker, the farm, the abattoir, the hardware store, etc etc
>>
>>28662101
People don't care about him, people care about
>hey people, a heinous crime has happened!
>but we aren't going to do anything to punish the perpetrators :P
>anyway, here's a bunch of new legislation to protect children ;)
