Got 15k saved to buy a weekend/summer carCurrently dd a mk6 gti on stock tune in New Englandis the z4 the way to go? seems to be the only thing in my area not riced to shit in this price range. Worried I might be disappointed since its not significantly more powerful than the gtilooking for something RWD, preferably a power increase. An s2000 seems to be ideal for me but all the ones near me are upwards of 20k.should I just tune the gti and save some more?any suggestions welcome

$15k puts you solidly in ND1 territory. It's the same performance as your GTI but more fun and reliable. For something RWD that's a upgrade in performance your only choices are S197 5.0 or 5th Gen Camaro SS if you find a decent one in manual in that budget or your choice in C5 Corvette. A Z4 3.0 isn't really going to be much faster than a ND1 or a Mk6 GTI.

Tear everything out of your GTI including the A/C and speakers, put an ebay bucket seat in it, RPF-1s, a single exit catback, a cold air intake, and get a tune from the cheapest shop you can find with decent google reviews.That should entertain you for another year while you save for something faster.
