I'm crashing out so fucking hard, I'm about 2 xanax away from impulse buying a Lexus.

>Save up money
>Buy CT5-V Blackwing
>Fucking amazing car
>At train tracks fucking piece of train FALLS THE FUCK OFF AND DESTROYS CAR
>Insurance pays out a fat check
>Go to purchase 911, maybe Panamera GTS
>Serious budget stretch but parents have a 911 and it's sick
>Literally no GTS around, all they have are hybrid shit
>Go next door, couple M8s in stock
>Go back to purchase one the next day
>Both M8s were sold after I left
>Watch videos on Raptor R
>Go buy a Raptor R
>In shop getting fixed for LITERALLY 3 FUCKING WEEKS IT'S A FUCKING LEMON

I am this fucking close to buying a fucking IS500, RCF, or other Jap 5L NA v8 and exiting the car market for the next 20 fucking years. This can't possibly be real. How the fuck is this even within the realm of possibility.
>>
>>28663764
Why not get another CT5-V brother
>>
>>28663767

It was fun but the ride was shit and it depreciated $50,000 in 6 months. If the insurance hadn't paid me replacement value and instead had given me KBB value I'd have been fucked. They're fun cars but they depreciate worse than BMW
>>
>>28663775
2022s are going for $85k to $95k. Insurance fucked you bro or you bought it for way too much. They are nearly even money for the first 25k miles. Or your story is total bullshit. Im guessing its bullshit because they ride very nicely.
>>
>>28663795

Purchase price was 135k for a 2025. KBB value was 89k. Insurance paid 132k. I was being somewhat hyperbolic but these things depreciate like a fucking rock. Pretty much every performance car does if you buy it new, which is fine, but there are limits and I'm at mine. Still would 100% recommend it to anyone who wants a manual RWD sedan Powerful as fuck and the best stock exhaust I've ever heard.
>>
>>28663764
Not much of a BMW fan but maybe consider an M2.
>>
>>28663808

Honestly it's a really solid option. I don't know what the fuck at this point I think my car interest is becoming schizophrenic or some shit because I want a diesel pickup one minute, a manual coupe the next, a C8 corvette after that, fuck it all buy a lambo, nah bro get a 911, nah man fuck that buy a Lexus.... I'm circling
>>
>>28663807
It also rode like shit? By all accounts they are one of the best riding cars out there.

Also, Kbb means absolutely nothing for cars like that. Look at what they are actually selling for. 2025s and 2026s with less than 10k miles are selling for over msrp.
>>
>>28663764
>buys new blackwing with $40k of options in addition to the motor itself
>the only option not chosen was the enclosed shipping carrier
does your dad work at nintendo too
>>
>>28663813

While it was being repaired I shopped it around because even if it had been perfectly repaired I wouldn't have wanted it. I got written offers from several dealerships in the 90-95k range, and that is without taking into consideration the damage (at the time the carfax only listed a break-in oil change). I'm sure I could have gotten a bit more on the direct to consumer market but no way I'd be getting over MSRP. Doesn't matter, I'm happy with the payout and I don't want another.

Oh, and yeah the ride was shit. Super fucking harsh. Not as bad as a GT3RS but definitely not something I'd want to road trip in. Daily is fine tho as long as it's under like an hour.
>>
>>28663812
I've been there. Find it helps to pick your favorite cars within a certain price bracket, find a common theme within those you picked, and narrow it down from there.
>>
>>28663814
I'm pretty sure Anon means he was at a train crossing, not that the car was damaged in transit to his location
>>
>>28663812
You need to take a chill pill brochacho
>>
>>28663807
Bare bones kbb value of a 10k mile ct5 v blackwing autocratic is $93k in "very good"condition which is one down from the best condition available. Why do you come here and make up blatant lies?
>>
>>28663819
insurance isnt going to pay you replacement cost otherwise
>>
>>28663817
Insurance doesnt buy out the car if the car isnt totalled and gets repaired. You have to be 18 to post here.
>>
>>28663817
I also call bullshit on the ride being super harsh
>>
>>28663764
pill popping retard would buy a lexus
>>
>>28663817
Did it get totalled out or repaired?? Its one or the other bro. Get your stories straight before you come here and make shit up
>>
>>28663814

You're illiterate.

>>28663834
>>28663825

When your car has serious damage it is taken to a shop. The shop then begins a process which is called "repairing the vehicle" and during that process they discover the full extent of the damage. If the damage is severe enough the insurance company will total it out. This process takes time, in my case nearly a month.
>>
>>28663842
No. When a car has serious damage an adjuster comes and assesses the damage and decides whether or not to total the vehicle out or pay for repairs before any parts are purchased or repairs are performed.
>>
>>28663822

My highest offer was 95k on 135k MSRP. That's 40k depreciation in under 6 months. Again, that's what I'd expect for a performance sedan, but that combined with the ride and meh, not really interested in doing it again. There are better vehicles out there.
>>
>>28663846

When a car is high enough value they send out one adjuster, then another, then another, and escalate it up the chain. This takes time. There's a big difference between totaling a 5k shitbox and a 500k Cullinan, and a large spectrum in between.
>>
>>28663823
But if OP never drove the car then how does he know that the ride was shitty? Something seems off here...

Are you telling me OP is fake and gay as always?
>>
>>28663849
They still dont start repairs until the decision is made except under extremely rare circumstances. I deal with insurance companies for a living man. On vehicles ranging in value from $25k to $350k
>>
>>28663764
Get the hybrid Panamera with fancy suspension, or get a giulia, or get something like a gently used dbx
>>
>>28663849
And we still havent figured out how youre the only person on the planet who thinks that car has a harsh ride. Give it up man none of this ever happened

Post your raptor r key and maybe we will believe you. Let me guess. You left both of them at the dealership
>>
>>28663862

Panamera is seriously tempting. It's probably the best sedan currently on the market.

>>28663861

I guess that explains why the carfax didn't show anything. Process took forever.

How do these cars have so many owners?
That's a new owner every 6,500miles on this one.
>>
>>28663965

Because they're super fun but shit to live with.
>>
>>28663957
No it doesnt explain shit. You are still full of shit. Fun larp though
>>28663965
Wrong. Contrary to your retarded claim that they depreciate like crazy they actually hold value really well so that car was probably flipped once for a profit. Then someone drove it for 20k miles and sold it for even money and bought a new one with the precision pack
>>
>>28663764
Why not just buy a Honda Accord and live the worry free life?
>>
>>28663965
That particular car looks like it was leased, owner bought out lease at 18k miles. Drove another 2k miles then traded it in to a bmw dealership. Probably for an m5 and probably hates life right now
>>
>>28663868
Dinosaur named ahh truck
>>
>>28663965
owner 1 (dealership)
>bought solely to punch the sale at MSRP so they could resell it way above MSRP without penalty
owner 2 (first owner)
>serial car trader
>thought a manual Blackwing would be sick
>getting too old for this clutch shit, his legs aren't what they used to be
>trades for something easier on the knees
>car now has 2400 miles
owner 3
>actually a good owner for this car who will give a shit and appreciate the machine
>>
>>28663979

Why are you butthurt over someone criticizing the CT5VB?
>>
>>28663979
Wrong reply bruh.
I'm not that other anon.

>>28663971
That doesn't make sense.
The CTS-V Gen2s are great daily drivers
Comfortable but also have hella power on tap from a LSA 6.2L
>>
>>28664004
I dont have a dog in the race for the ct5vb I just like to call people out on their obvious bullshit.
>>
>>28663764
Fords are factory lemons. I bought a new 2024 and new 2025, both had tons of issues, each one had a serious NHTSA recall, fatal engine defects causing coolant leaks, defective driveshafts and transmission output shafts, body fitment issues, window trim leakage issues, the list is literally endless. I swear Ford factory workers are all high on Meth or Fentanyl.

Germoids are much more "fun" than Lexacunt but you'll pay up the arse for that. However, if you're rich enough, it may be totally reasonable to burn $10-20K/yr on depreciation in order to have a fun car.

Many rich guys blow $100K a month on hookers. Others waste their money on woodworking, big game hunting, or some other stupid hobby. So if you like cars, it can be totally sane and smart to burn money on sportscars.
>>
>>28664008

Believe what you want lol. Fuck, go buy a Blackwing, maybe you'll love it. Lots of people do. The ride is kinda like a stiffer M8 comp with zero play. It's very composed, but it's very stiff. Maybe the old ones without the Precision Package are softer, but I doubt it. It's a really good car, but you won't be floating in luxury. Expect a performance focus.
>>
>>28663764
I take Dexedrine and Xanax
>>
>>28663991
>>bought solely to punch the sale at MSRP so they could resell it way above MSRP without penalty
you do realize that sales tax is a thing and has to be paid. a dealer isnt going to piss away $12k in sales tax just to be able to sells this for a bit above msrp
>>
>>28664024
Yeah they actually will all day, sales tax for inventory is a business expense that gets written off.
>>
>>28664025
you must be retarded neet because you dont understand how taxes work.

> sales tax for inventory
there is no such thing you retard, items for resale arent subject to sales tax.

> gets written off
thank you for proving yet again that you dont understand how taxes work. you're retarded statement, even if it were true is the same as saying you should spend $12k to save $3k

stop masturbating to anime and get a real job so you have a tax return to file for once in your life
>>
>>28663764
How long do you plan to keep the car for?
What’s your budget?
Do you do your own repairs?
What’s most important to you, speed comfort, etc?
Are you looking for new, lightly used, old?
>>
>>28664417
Im not the poster you were referring to and you are right that that anon doesnt understand tax write offs.

The reality is though with some of these high demand vehicles the dealer owner will often have the dealership buy the car. The dealer owner will then drive it themselves as a demo until something new comes along then sell it as certified used at msrp. They could care less about the sales tax the dealership pays its pocket change for them and they have a constant supply of cool cars at no out of pocket cost to them
>>

>>28665043

I'll keep it until I'm bored. Actually, I'll probably keep it longer; maybe save up and get a C8 Z06 or something. Maybe a C7 actually, I miss driving stick.
>>
>>28665287
>metal keys touching the hood

i'm having a seizure on you'are behalf
>>
>>28665383

When you drive down a dirt road and some gravel gets kicked up does your fucking twat start bleeding?
>>
>>28663764
You can't go wrong with the c8, any trim, desu
GT500/GT350/Mach 1 or ZL1 1LE or ATS are also top options
If stiff rides are a problem then a Panamera GTS would be more of the same, like practically everything else advertised as having 'track tuned suspension'
On that note, the ITS should probably be in the conversation
I don't think there's anything wrong with the IS500, either
All good choices
>>
Lmao at all the busriders in this thread telling OP they know better how his car rides. It's the sportiest package of a sports sedan, of course the suspension is going to be stiff as fuck. The only variation you'll get is between just "harsh" and "absolutely bone-shattering".
>>
>>28665410
I don't drive down dirt roads, Cletus.

And yes I get nosebleeds when my tire dips into the shoulder slightly and the loose pebbles there get kicked up onto my rear quarters.

I installed mudflaps on my sportscar (looks horrible) to minimize such rock chips.
>>
>>28668491
>I installed mudflaps on my sportscar (looks horrible) to minimize such rock chips.
you've caught the bug anon, before you know it you've got a sick safari build
>>

Soft. If your car gets damaged repair it or pay someone to repair it. Don't live life on thin ice, that's pussy shit.

>he bought a new ford after 2020

did you like not watch any videos on tiktok or social media

broncos going into shops over and over until they got lemon lawed

f150s constantly having supply chain issues

f250s getting the tail lights stolen and them costing $1000+ to replace

ford bragging about how theyre locking down the ecus on mustangs for tuners and how its impossible to hack

like what the fuck made you think that was a good idea buying a ford after 2020 is as good of a idea as a new jeep wagoneer
>>
>>28668544
stupid fucking zoomers man jesus christ
>>
>>28667160
Not busrider but I definitely didnt believe OP. Props to him for coming through with Bread on hood. Still suspicious but there are plenty of rich retards out there so its possible hes not full of shit
>>
>porsche with 4 doors
>>
>>28669443

Oh I'm definitely retarded. Don't misunderstand me: The Blackwing is a fucking phenomenal vehicle, but it is not a luxury cruiser. It's a track-focused animal with a bit more leather than plastic on the interior. If I buy another one I'll wait a few years and pick one up after it depreciates into the 50s or 60s.
>>
>>28669672
Maybe go with the non precision pack. I think it will be awhile until they get that low but who knows
>>
>>28664417
Like >>28665063 said, dealerships take loans out on most cars and any depreciation is literally a tax write off. Also things listed for resale *are* subject to sales tax you fucking moron. Used car dealer still sell cars with sales tax.
