For some reasons Wagons got into luxury car pricing, and they're just okay inside with poor performance. Then collectively GM and Volvo look around declaring nobody wants wagons so they kill them all off.

Its just like automakers declaring nobody wants manuals so everything is flappy paddle or automatic. Well yeah when your options are a Toyoburu, Mustang, and $100k+ sports cars, you're just not going to move many manual transmissions.

Because the only reason to get them over an SUV (or even better, a minivan) is perceived status and possibly some benefits to handling. The people who buy them want a premium product, so obviously they're specced and priced for that market.
My Carnival has over 2x as much cargo volume as a V90.
