I just want a small, light-weight EV coupe. Doesn't need more than 150 miles of range, but I want a fuckload of power in it. Doesn't need a super fancy interior or tech or whatever. Just two powerful electric motors, a decent battery, A/C, heat, and decent bolstering.

Wait why didn't he back up?
>>

Why back up when you can just risk a lithium fire?

I don't think you can have both. I'm not an engineer but battery output has something to do with capacity. It's why EVs get slower the more they decharge. So a small battery with powerful motors would only have maximum output for like 20 miles then it would just get slower and slower as the percentage dropped off. Like the McMurty Speirling needs to be recharged after every quarter mile to get the 7.9s time. Although I don't think anyone has ever tested it to see how much slower it actually gets. I do know that the Plaid goes from 9.2s at 100% to 9.9s at 20% so it's not like they get THAT much slower.

it's ma'am

If only there was a way to mechanically reduce the load a motor sees... Like I don't know.... Maybe a multi speed transmission? Oh but we can't to that because it's too complicated, right? Oh a 150lb transmission is too heavy better use a 2000lb battery pack instead.

this is not how electric engines work, anon.
the RPM band of an electric engine is way more broad and constant than that of an ICE, hence why ICEs need a transmission.

>A/C, heat
If you wanted them then an electric car makes little sense. Both deplete you battery. I don't know what the range reductuon is but inevitably more than a real car.

Maybe they also need to cool their batteries, IDK.

It's a bait pic.
The Tesla is towing something

There should be a law where any car that doesn't have A/C and heat carries a fine of $100,000 and the sub-human barbarian owner gets jailed for a year.

generally the harder something has to work the shorter its lifespan will be. one of the reasons why in a given vehicle picking the bigger engine option isn't always a bad idea

Based ignoramus. It’s about 3%, makes no real difference.

I also want this but it needs to be a drop top
it committed to not being practical when it was a coupe with a 150 mile range. might as well actually be fun
>>
>>28668423

I'm fine with that honestly. I want a blisteringly fast little EV that I can fucking blast around in, launch control every light, etc.
>>
>>28667431
There's a few half-assed initial attempts at EVs using old platforms, like the Mini and 500. They're probably plenty fast for their size but the range is abysmal. I guess the Honda e2 kinda counts if your cuntry got them.
For new, everyone is just making crossovers instead of anything interesting. Only Jag has shown off a coupe concept but we all know how that went.

Man up and make your own... This is sub 2400lbs with a 6 speed manual and a clutch pedal. It only has ~120hp so it's not very fast and only has around 60 miles of range but it's what you have to deal with if you want a lightweight EV.

So how was special class sport ?
>>
>>28667431
The market has no interest in producing the car you're describing. It probably never will.
>>
>>28670991
This is due to everything being hyper focused around efficiency of scale now. All we're ever going to get from here forward is generic mass produced vehicles designed to satisfy as many consumers as possible with as few models of vehicle possible. This is why 90% of the market is pickup trucks, suv/crossovers, and sedans that are hatchbacks. There are no specialty cars any more. There are no low production run cars any more. There are no niche cars any more. Hell, the market hardly even has any coupes any more. And nobody is interested in making lightweight cars anymore since that's way easier and cheaper to just slap more power on it instead. The current car market is abysmal and I doubt it's going to get any better because capitalism only pushes markets further in this direction, not away from it.

>Special class

You are a foreigner.
>>
>>28671000
oh, don't worry anon! ultra wealthy people will still be able to choose from over a hundred different pure, lightweight sports cars made just for them

ok

That's the same as a fucking 3rd gen 4Runner.
