I'm really shocked he's doing as good as he is. He looked like his entire upper half of his body was annihilated in the hospital bed.
The fact he's able to walk a little bit for PT is proof he will recover. It'll take like 10 months before he can stand up but that's not too long.

>It is usually more advised to increase on the rear since you will increase the contact of the chain itself with the extra teeth
Ah, that makes sense. I know a lot of stunters just go 60t in the rear without a change in the front, and I was curious as to why they did that.
>Then you might as well buy a used DS or MX bike
Here in 'Nada you can't turn a dirt bike into an insurable vehicle, so not that great of an option in that regards, but also all the good stunters use street bikes, although sumos let you hit jumps , stairs, etc which is cool.
>The Kawasaki dampeners seem to work great on KTMs
Had no idea you can swap different brand dampeners like that lol, doesn't cause any long term issues?
>I don't think you will have to change them just yet.
I do, I've got like a mm of wear left until the wear marks are gone, probably be worn to nothing about the same time my rear wheel hits it wear mark as well. Also the front brake squeaks like crazy right now for whatever reason, which is annoying, I think they need a grease behind the pad, probably do that when I change the pads to HH sintered ones.

The Honda Metropolitan isn't available in my market and it looks cute as fuck. But only 50cc so pretty worthless and impractical.

The first thing I thought of when I tried to compare my bike to something after riding it for the first time was a nasty big block. It reminded me a lot of an old (at least 75 and earlier) muscle car. I think you could get close with something with a hot V8 and an old four speed. Mehcanical linkage not hydraulic clutch. short gears with a limited slip or a spool. wind leaks and no sound deadening will get you 80% of the way there lol. A proper death trap to give you the panty shatners you crave.

Sounds like you have a civil case on your hands anon. Call a lawyer immediately. Don't think in the least that you may not be able to afford it or that you may not be worth their time. They will work pro-bono because city payments are cash money and there isn't an attorney who would say no to this case, it's open and shut first amendment and fourth amendment violation.

That is, if you're telling the truth and this isn't a LARP.

>>

It probably is in America with some spiteful police department, but those are known in America as the "redneck lottery". Because when uppity cops start tramping people's rights to face their accuser, rights to represent themselves in court, and rights to search and seizure- That's otherwise known as the city Casino rolling all 7s at Vegas.

If he was smart he would have had a lawyer with him that same day, not even as representation but just as a witness. The court record alone could net him several million.
>>
>>28669571
>civil case
>Lol
Yes you fucking idiot. They just violated multiple of your rights. You have a right to attend your own trial. Now, since you're probably LARPing, you won't go call a lawyer and get a big fat paycheck. If, for whatever reason, you genuinely believe that a Civil Case in the act of a speeding ticket "doesn't count" because of whatever gaslighting you received in school: Ask a fucking lawyer. They do free consultations. Let THEM be the one to tell you if it's worth it or not because you could afford a whole fleet of bikes if it is.

Based take it to a lawyer TODAY. Stop posting, call a lawyer, they just incriminated themselves and "Feeling intimidated" isn't a reason to exert her authority in a court room. A court room is supposed to be neutral (we know that's bullshit) and a good lawyer can net you a paycheck. Go, now.

Dude, he's not in the free world.
>>
>>28669581
Also court proceedings have their own records that are kept separate from police records and are done in front of non-partial witnesses for a reason. If you were wondering who tf all those other people were in the room that weren't the police and weren't the court, that's who they were. Each and every one can vouch for your story and a lawyer will know how to find them since their names are public record (they are notaries).

Call, do it.

>Dude, he's not in the free world.
Listen m8 Common Law is the same in Britbong or the US. We inherited the British's court system. While he doesn't have a first amendment, he does have a right to a fair trial.

https://lawforcitizens.com/the-right-to-a-fair-trial-in-the-united-kingdom/
>In the United Kingdom, the right to a fair trial is protected by both domestic legislation and international human rights law. The right to a fair trial is enshrined in Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), which has been incorporated into UK law through the Human Rights Act 1998.
Again stop talking to us about this shit and go to a fucking Lawyer.

>>28669600
You don't have to deliver food, you could deliver solid gold bars for what a good Lawyer can get you. Just go ask a lawyer if you have a case. It's free.
>>
>>28669600
that's just it m8, you're never gonna have peace again, they have a target on your back and any time your scooter or bike is out in traffic you can expect at least 10 bobbies to be stalking you because you're now a person of interest.

hate to be the bearer of bad news but they have units dedicated to just stalking people they've brought in and fingerprinted.

Whipped past a lamborghini who was going 95 and i’m glad he didn’t try to race me bc i’d probably be dead. My bike performed admirably, not a hiccup and everyone thought it was cool. There was a toddler and he thought it was the coolest thing ever. There was a babe who rides a 300 and was also impressed. i failed to convince the (blonde, french) canadian border guard to give me a cavity search but i’ll get her next time. love me hondly davidsa.

People tend to mistrust chinese-made stuff when it comes to reliability. From what I understand they're decent-ish bikes, but good luck finding a shop/dealership to service them and I think they have some strange quirks like having to take a bunch of stuff off the bike to change the oil. Also /o/ in general hates chinesium because they have a record of inconsistent quality, fit, reliability, etc.

I'd say they seem ok but relatively unproven, and if you can find a jap/euro bike for a similar price I'd go for that instead. Look at the KTM 390 adventure R or even the poo-made himalayan 450
>>
>>28669883
Theres still a bit of anxiety with a lot of chinese bikes about part availability even among people who are normally pretty open to chinese manufacturing.

Niggers tongue my jANUS
>>
>>28669781
No they can't. They can't even make thumper in house and buy a chinese motor.
>>
off topic but the Janus truly proves American manufacturing is truly and utterly dead. Americans get together to make their own Motorcycle brand and they throw together a mock-up that's still using 1930's bike construction because no one in this country anymore can operate or create machinery to make a decent motorcycle. And at the end they have to go to China for an engine anyway.
>>
>>28669924
Usually they do, CFMoto its on par with Bajaj in terms of quality though, since both of these made the bikes for KTM, sadly the 790 camshaft was the ones CFMoto was making, yet now I expect that to be actually solved, even more now that CFMoto released their own 790, which is the 800MT-X.

Still fuck em tho, what they did with the T-box subscription is fucking unforgivable, don't bother on ever buying that shit, it works like ass anyways. Also some people with the 450 Ibex recommend adding a tooth on the front sprocket to make the engine not rev that high, a complete 180 compared on what you would want to do with a KTM 390, the new ones do come with a 14t sprocket now I think, but still tend to stall at low rpm, bikes come just too fucking lean.
>>
>>28669826
>fire everyone and sell all the branding to China and Indi
Would be a weird move in tbe current American political climate. If anybody but Trump was in the White House I'd say that was inevitable, but I don't know right now.
Would be hilarious if the private equity firm was a front for HDMC and they turned it into a budget marque, except with a full-cowboy retro Big Chief in the CVO lineup.
>>
>>28669931
You might be retarded, man. The entire point of the Janus is that it's a boutique retro piece of shit. The market is the same people who ride penny farthings and use moustache wax, alongside collectors who will never actually ride them.
>>
>>28669901
Quality varies hugely. Stuff actually brought over tend to be the ones people actually like with the exception to qlink and some specific models of extremely cheap bikes coming to amazon. Qj and kymco have the best honda engine clones cfmoto had the most success with Kawasaki engine clones when catching up. most of them compy the same 6 engines though.
>>
bike owners on marketplace might be worse than boomers selling their "classic" cars. I'm trying to get my first bike before it gets too cold out but these motherfuckers think their 2015 300cc is worth $4000. Does anyone have tips for low balling when it comes to motorcycles?

Small bikes are trendy right now because The Algorithm made a lot of new riders this year so there's a trend tax placed on them. The Algorithm is not a coincidence either, 2007 is a baby boom year and they just turned into adults during a time of great financial insecurity, so many of them are seeking alternative transportation and that is creating a feedback loop of The Algorithm pushing motorcycle content on YouTube

Been riding officially 3 years now. No wrecks. A couple of major close calls avoided. Done about 35k miles in 3 years.
If I can avoid having a crash for the next 3 years, statistically that means I'm pretty unlikely to eat the pavement and die, right? Even given the way I ride? Barring some sort of freak accident.
I am going to have kids sometime in the next 5 years and I don't want to stop riding. I will probably tame down the cutting through traffic and lane splitting just for good measure.
>>
Hey, I got the Nolan helmet someone recommended, but it's not DOT certified. At least I don't see an ECE label on it. What gives? Is it some weird thing where it's certified to some Italian standard or is it because it's a modular that it can't pass any certification?

It's a little late to be riding but if you're looking for a winter project you can work on and ride in spring go for an oldie
Or maybe you like in a place that doesn't get winter like it does in the north east, then I'd say get a used bike you know will run so you can focus on riding and building skills. My first bike was an old bike that I got to ride for a summer but constantly broke down and I spent way too much time and money trying to fix and by the time I did get it running I was very out of practice and had a dumb low speed crash, so I ended up just buying a new bike and basically had to relearn how to ride by that point.
>>
>>28670090
I couldn't tell you. I rode with a couple people the other day, and they were riding very chill. They weren't splitting or filtering, and they were going the speed limit. I didn't even know that was an option. It made me aware, however, that you can ride without trying to kill yourself. I think that's how a person is able to ride for fifty years doing six million miles without a crash.
>>
>>28670110
I'm not a good rider. I forgot to add that.

There are three great lies, lies, damned lies, statistics.
You not getting into a wreck up until now doesn't cast a magic spell to keep you from getting into wrecks, it means you're now experienced enough to where getting into a wreck is unlikely. You can still eat fender just as easily as you could before. Arguably, people who are quite experienced and get too complacent are the kind of people who get in wrecks the most.

I agree.
If I had it my way, speeding fines would be calculated against a set of criteria so the context can be taken into account.
Something like
>Location
>Listed speed limit
>Time
>Conditions
Doing 20 over in a school zone during school times? Big fine and demerit points. Putting kids in danger is not acceptable.
Doing 20 over on a 110km/h highway with little to no traffic? Essentially a warning, can't prove it's actually dangerous.

I'm talking out of my arse, but I imagine most speeding fines are handed out by mobile speed cameras and no by police pulling people over.
The one and only time I was stopped by cops for speeding they lowered the recorded speed down a bracket so I didn't loose my licence. My mate who's a cop said he doesn't bother anyone doing less than 15 over.
Maybe the solution is less mobile speed cameras.

Do without the seat if you can. If you really want the seat get a traditional scooter.

I would agree, handling isn't best.
But I'm poor, and don't want a BIG heavy moto.
And even some of the light sport moto's would not work for me i think.
I want the small and light. Even if it has some issues.

I'll look out for that, and don't think it's been a problem for me yet.

>>
>>28670838
>It's basic physics
Lol no, your average pothole is harder on the suspension than a wheelie. And ask the clutch-up guys how many times they have replaced their clutch? Zero? Hmm.
>>
>>28670839
I wheelie dirt bikes, not street bikes.

But go on wrenchlet, pivot away from the simple fact that popping your clutch and slamming your suspension on landing causes heightened wear and tear on the components.

>Spoiler: You can't. Retard. But that won't stop you from flapping those spic lips from lying
>>
>>28670892
You don't wheelie shit bud, if you did you would know that you gas it as it begins to fall so your fall is gentle on the suspension. End yourself dumb larper.
>>
>>28670850
Storage space is between your feet? If that's enough, have fun. If you are going to go in traffic lanes get yourself one of those automatic taillight / brake light combos, the kind that turn themselves on when you decelerate.

It's actually the same tier of wear.

>>
>>28670898
>On landing, it's literally equivalent
No, when you land a wheely the vertical speed is a 2-3 miles per hour. When you hit the edge of a pothole the vertical speed will be a function of your road speed, if the pothole is deep enough it will be more than a third of your road speed, for example 20MPH if you are going 60MPH.
The forks won't bottom in either case, but their is a lot more peak impulse force in a pothole than a wheelie.

Even if One-Wheel-Ronalds wore out the clutch, it's not a big deal. They're easy to change and relatively inexpensive. Unless you're slamming down something really heavy really hard, I don't see the big deal. The bike can handle it. It isn't made of glass.

Remarkable how this board is full of people doing wheelies on the regular and redlining daily and yet their bikes still run. The suspensions are straight. The clutches still clutch. Amazing.
>>
>>28670923
Are those not wear items and consumables? If they're worn out, you just replace them.
>>
>>28670751
wheelie is hard on bikes no doubt. some bikes are prone to oil starvation or getting oil in the airbox if you're holding one for a long time. can wear out the clutch a bit faster. can bust front fork seals if you slam it down.
but honestly mang when you're just cruising down the empty road floating it and dipping it back, there's no way to describe it.

If you have the skill of that you would have installed the clean air mod though. Clutch wear is the same as if you gas it at an intersection, and front seals blowing from you smashing it down is user error.

A clean wheelie should really have no real extra wear on a bike, things like stoppies are way worse.

see a lot of anons talking about wheelies, no idea who to respond to, but here's what i've found.
i'm on my 3rd clutch pack on the klx. they cost like 75$ and it's easy to replace, so i do them when they start slipping when popping it up in 3rd. they probably would last much longer for normal use, but wheelies definitely will wear the clutch out faster.
i have not experienced blown fork seals but if you bang it down hard expect that to happen. it's easy to avoid by just revving it as you set it down, though.
rear tire wears out faster because it spruffs some of the rubber off during lift.
front tire wears out faster because it stops spinning eventually and when you set it down it spruffs up to speed which makes my knobbies into little triangles.
on my MT i'm thinking it's gonna wear the chain & final drive faster but that's completely expected as well.
...
at the end of the day there's nothing like floating it down an empty road, though, so for me it's worth it.

You'd be replacing clutch packs regardless on dirt bikes because clutch is used in the dirt at slower speeds way more. Also just for giving it beans at stops, which kills tires as well. Doing anything beyond plebbitdad speed limit shit will eat consumables, wheelies are no worse than just riding hard.

Why do you have to do that? Every time this comes up, you get turbo passive aggressive. Even with anons that are just speaking with you like a normal person.
>>
>>28670982
The video was literally just my first day of practice breh, already told you that.

Also nah I don't ride dirt, but I know how they ride from watching them, and its a whole lot of stop and starting that kills clutches like no other unless "dirt" to you means some grassing rolling hills. The only way wheelies hurt clutches is if you are sitting in lots doing them none stop, and thats because you are doing stop start over and over again. Gymkhana will also wear clutches "fast" because of the same idea. Wheelies don't hurt clutches, the entire premise is retarded.

Clutch wears from being used, spamming stop start launches in a gymkhana course will wear your clutch the exact same way as sitting in a lot doing wheelies would. I've already proved I can wheelie, but if you can't figure out an argument I guess this is your default response.
>>

No, it's when dipshits like you pretend that stunting has 0 drawbacks then parrot that slop to the unsuspecting making them believe the false framing you lay down.

Stunting is nothing like riding hard and you gotta have one fantastical imagination to believe the nonsense you push. It's crazy making and it would be funny if it was a clever rage bait but you midwits genuinely believe the bullshit
>>
>>28671022
>Stunting is nothing like riding hard
You're right, its probably easier on bikes than riding hard is. I don't know any stunters who do full fluid flushes every single lot day like some track riders do lmao.

Its just one of your excuses for why you can't stunt or wheelie yourself, dumb /pol/nigger.
>>
Why they keep doing it?

https://files.catbox.moe/eunmnz.mp4
>>
>>28671026
Now you're just lying through ya teeth, I know my abilities but clearly you can't cope with the idea that someone doesn't need attention like you do. Track riders flush their forks to load the dice in their favor by constantly having a healthy baseline for their suspension in order to set the best laps. Just because your average stuntard doesn't maintain their shit like a track pro doesn't mean there's less damage kek

Keep chirpin'
>>
>>28671035
There are track riders who will flush ALL fluids: brakes, coolant, oil, the whole lot every single session because you are pushing literally every single part of your bike to its limit. The average stunt is a clutch up and then twirling around at speed, maybe some burn outs being the worst strain on the engine they do, but burnouts are only for shows, no one has the money to throw away tires for lot practice.
>stuntard

So what you're saying is motorcycles weren't designed to sustain track riding but are designed to sustain stunt riding?

Get ahold of yourself faggot. Not every track event is the suzuka 8 hour ball crusher 9000. Stunt riding wears the machine in ways it was not designed to endure.
>>
>>28671060
Bikes have less things to wear down, so your framing is objectively retarded.
>>28671064
>I didn't du nuffin
Yeah you did ya fuckin weasel
>>
>>28671073
Things are designed with limits, and track riding is all about tapping out your bike's limits non-stop to achieve its highest potential, stunt riding is not. Balance point is inherently about not having to strain your bike to keep it in position, track days are infinitely worse for your bike than a parking lot session.

The only reason stunt bikes get clapped out is from dropping them nonstop or rev limit spamming, you'll eventually total your bike riding track from the constant lowsiding and rare highside, so its hardly anything to bring up in a comparison.

And Honestly, I think for 30 mins, I could do a BIG backpack, when needed.
But I have thought about some
"storage attachments"

automatic taillight / brake light combos
I'll look into that. I'm sure the scooter bike comes with something basic.
But I know i'll probably need some extra light stuff anyways.
If worst comes to worse, I guess maybe a high power flashlight in my backpack could be used.

But I plan to try to be a safe driver (keep my distance).
I'm not a biker that trys to squeeze in and fast change lanes or crazy stuff.
