How did you feel after junking your first car?
>>
>>28676763
Why the fuck would you junk your first car unless you totalled it?
>>
>>28676763
Slightly aroused
>>
>>28676773
op trusted the dealershit quote for repairs, got talked into a trade-in for scrap value.

many such cases!
>>
>>28676777
>>28676773
I worded it wrong my bad. I meant to ask how you felt the first time you junked a car. And no one talked me into anything the engine went kaput.
>>
>>28676779
I would rebuild the engine on my first car before scrapping it.
I've never scrapped a car and never will unless it's fucked up beyond the point of being reasonably repaired
>>
>>28676788
In my case it was. I was extremely poor and the engine bays for a 1992 mercury villager are extremely cramped. I wish I could have saved it.
>>

Automotive enthusiasts don't junk cars, we conceal defects and sell our junk to unsuspecting buyers for max profit
it feels great
>>
>>28676763
>>28676779
i haven't had either of these experiences before. I still own my first car and my second car.
>>
>>28676763
I take care of my cars so it's not an issue. I resold my first car 8 years ago after owning it for 10 years, and the person I sold it to just traded it in to a local dealership.
Judging by the pictures and Carfax, it's basically unchanged aside from an extra 70k miles on the odo

>Automotive enthusiasts act like jews
No.
>>
>>28676789
Bunch of bullshit excuses
>>
>>28676773
The rust meant it was on borrowed time to start with.
>>
>>28676763
>first
nothing, i got the exact same car for parts and i ended up fixing that up instead.
>junkin that car
i was so tired of opel then it was a breeze to get rid of it, even got the seller of the ford i bought to meet me at the junkyard, i drove the junker there and bought another car in their parking lot.
it was again junked in 3-4 years but that was my parents doing it i was in jail at that time.
>>
>>28676763
i still own it
>>
>>28676831
Was an old Astra far gone in rust. Poor cooling. And I crashed it.

C'est la vie.

Still on my first car after 16 years. It just works. It's old enough where repairs creep up, but it's never enough to justify another car. The repairs are easy, cheap, and don't take much time.

At this point, I just treat the car as a means to learn how to fix cars and make my mistakes on it with little risk.

I was rear ended by a 3/4 ton truck in my focus. I felt horrible in loved putting e85 in that thing. My neck will never recover.
>>
>>28676763
didn't junk it, sold it on. Cost me £500 (peugeot 106 xs), sold it on after a year for £500.
No issues on the MoT neither. I liked it.

Unironically a 1994 lancer 1.6 just keeps on going
>>
Never did, I'm 40 own my own home out right and have 3 other cars. I'm sentimental.
>>
I junked 4 of my first 5 cars (own #'s 14-18 rn).
>all of them totaled by women failing to yield to me while turning left at an intersection where I had the right of way to turn
>07 Focus ZX-5
>99 Acura Integra
>97 Miata M edition
>03 Honda Civic EX
The only one of the first 5 to make it out alive was my 90 CRX because it had a knock and I sold it to a beaner who spoke 0 english

I had the silly bastard for 9 years, and still sold it to someone (it was 26 years old at that point)
>>
i bought a 300 dollar parts car
stole a bunch of shit off of it
i think if I really tried I could've put it back on the road as it was my dream car but it was wrecked and raced hard.
sold it for 300 dollars and im pretty sure the guy said he was going to hull it out and scrap it.
kindof sortof wish I still had it.
>>
It felt good after selling my first shitbox to carmax for $3000.
It was so fuckin trash. Like a weight lifted off my shoulders. I was literally a pedestrian for the next few months and i still didn't mind, before i got my REAL car that i currently own.

it's not a shitbox if carmax is paying $3k for it. when carmax just says no is when you have an actual shitbox.
>>

if you get into the exact same accident 4 times, have you considered MAYBE you were part of the problem?
>>
i felt pretty bad when my father got rid of his audi 80/90, no clue what he did with it
>>
>>28679410
The first 2 of them had the other person at fault for blowing through their red light and I won the insurance claims, one was "no fault" for either of us because their light was not operating on the other side of the road (still got the insurance claim), and the last one was a hit and run, person didn't have plates on the car and was driving a white crown vic (in 2014) so I was told the only option was through my own insurance policy. I have been in one accident since and it was my fault, backing up in a parking lot in my miata and a fucking cyclist ran into my trunk, tried to sue me personally for "loss of happiness" since the old bitch broke her foot. She lost her suit against me because she was using an electric assisted bike in excess of the speed limit in the parking lot but I still was found guilty of failure to yield in traffic court.
>>
>>28680667
I should also add that the old woman who ran into me on her bike hurled cursewords at me the entire time in front of the officer and the CVS manager whose parking lot it was. She made the cop call an ambulance for her foot. She then, had to *ask* the paramedics to put her in a crash cart because they weren't sure what was wrong because she could stand up. The CVS manager was a complete white trash grandma but she thought the old woman on the bike was a bitch and emailed me the exit door security footage that showed the bike going way too fast and going in the wrong direction in the parking lot lane that won me my suit literally right after she filed it.

>>
