The important part of driving is the braking, steering and road awareness. The flow. I learned on a manual and have a manual license but there is nothing about it that an experienced automatic driver could not pick up in a couple of days later.Most new cars are automativmc now anyway. They need to relax about some of this stuff. It is not a core skill. Although I think clutch control does make you a better driver.
