>is still the best vehicle

What the fuck?
>>
>>28679810
The Scirocco looks better.
>>
>>28679818
Maybe if you're poor
>>
>>28679821
I accept your concession.
>>
>>28679810
In what way? It's certainly the most numb feeling "sports" car I've driven, I guess that's an achievement
>>
>>28679838
>"sports" car
>golf

Why the fuck do people think this? It's a hot hatch, it's not going to handle like a fucking lotus. It's supposed to carry your groceries from point A to point B faster than your average commuterslop car, not win the fucking Imola GP.
>>
>>28679873
Hot hatches are supposed to be fun, good handling is fun. Plus plenty of other hatches handle better. Obviously it's not going to be a lotus, but it's closer to a truck than a coupe
>>
>>28679810
Yeah it's quick in a straight line, the computer shifts at lightning speeds, and has a "drift mode", but real people don't actually care that much about that
>>
>>28679810
Honders are the best.
>>
>>28679898
>it's closer to a truck than a coupe
you're fucking retarded
>>
>>28679810
this car is completely ruined by its driver base in the states, possibly worse than modern STI/WRX owners
>>
>>28679947
lol this, most retarded faggy ass community ever thinking their tarted up golfs are God's gift to the world

toyota is better

Misha just leaked some Golf R 5-pot intel.
It’s real and will likely BTFO the RS3 because VW and their factory driver Benny Leuchter are putting lots of work and R&D into it. They want to make it an absolute monster.
I’ll buy one
>>
>>28679873
while it’s not a Lotus Elise these hot hatches handle better than your 4000 lbs „sports“ cars from the likes of BMW, Merc, Cadillac, Nissan GTR etc.
>>
>>28680327
>understeering VAG heldex shit
It wouldn’t even hold a candle to a rental spec Camaro.>>28680327
>>
>>28680327
Most hatches do, the GTI and Golf R definitely do not
>>
>>28680327
>>28681027
No they don't lol. My full size family sedan handles better than any hatchback. It's more luxurious too

t. wrenchlets
>>
>>28681029
Shut the fuck up, wheelgapspic. Your 5 series is smaller than the current gen Honda Accord.
>>
>>28681081
gayhonda needed the extra space to figure out how to fit a faggy 2.0l 4cylinderlet hybrid or a 1.5l turbo into that?
Lol BMW got a 4.4L TWIN TURBO V8 with 666+ horserinos in a more compact -- and faster and more luxurious -- package
>>
>>28681092
Irrelevant nigger babble; your bullshit isn't a full size sedan.
>>
>>28681029
Kek in your dreams nigger
>>
>>28681098
And yet my full size family sedan handles better (and is faster and more luxurious) than any gay little "hot" hatch
>>28681099
That's a good song Walter
>>
>>28679810
>Volks faggin
>>
>>28679810
To be honest I think it looks quite good on the street. They really up the ante aesthetics wise on the newer golfs.
>>
>>28679810
It really isn't

My SUV can do it just as fast while being roomier, more comfortable, safer all while getting me bitches.
>>

It can't even haul a grocery cart full of food in one go

>my 3500lbs (3600lbs if not base model) FWD commuter totally outhandles dedicated sports car because they are slightly heavier
The ramblings of the insane never cease to amaze me.

My friend has one of these and wants something actually FUN
You know, something REAR-WHEEL DRIVE
>>
>faking a conversation
just how desperate is the BMWfaggot?
>>

My idiot brother kept buying these ugly homosexual Golf cars. They spent more time at the mechanic's than on the road. Supremely uncomfortable to drive and the back seats are pure hell. Ugly as shit too.

Took him four (4) months to get bored of it

Oh lol i guess it was only 3 months heh
>>
Should’ve gotten the superior Elantra N instead
>>
>>28681188
You're right, I've never driven an Mk VIII R, but I have driven an Mk VII R and it was nowhere close the sports car I've driven in the past.
It felt just like my GTI but quicker off the line with a significant amount of turbo lag (that could have been a shitty tune since my friend had it remapped by some guy he found on a forum)

I hope it doesn't BTFO it too bad, if it gets more expensive than the RS3 there's no point
>>
>>28681275
im not overpaying for a jetta SE
>>
>>28681092
It also starts at almost $20k more than a Golf R
>>
>>28682944
The type r[ice] is $70k? Lol what a fucking ripoff
>>
>>28682959
I'm talking about your "faster more luxurious" 5 series
>>
MK7.5 Golf R, FK8 Type R, or STI?

Trying to stay around 35k USD or under. I have drove them all already and a GR Corolla (fun car, but too expensive for what it is), and honestly unsure on which. They all are so different it's tough to choose.

Leaning towards the Golf R, but STI would be more fun.

Golf R if you're not comfortable behind a wrench. You can find a Mk7 S3 or a pre-facelift 15-17 STI for $15-20k. Type Rs are way too expensive but they're good cars. Would sooner do a 22-23 Elantra N.

Personally it would be between a 18-21 7.5 Hardtop GTI, S3, or a pre facelift STI if it was me. I chose the STI because it was stock but it still had some issues, namely needing a new steering rack and shifter bushings (a bitch to do on that car). The STIs are the best bargain ATM for a performance car since it's the cheapest but also the least reliable without getting into the exploding engines bit. Just shitty seals and rubber.

sti, more like usg
