Dear EV idiots,

I'd like to take a moment to advise you: AI data centers will consume exponentially more electricity every year from now on. The poorly maintained and under-built electric grid won't be able to handle it, and prices for consumer electricity will sky-rocket while you experience rolling blackouts and ever increasing surcharges and property taxes while local government scramble to cobble together more infrastructure.

If you are planning on buying an EV you are a retard.

i have solar at home though

>human brain runs on approx 20 watts of equivalent power
>AI data centers are in the gigawatts.

Until they can get AI computing to utilize nano-tubules to like the human brain to act not only as a processor, but also an antennae to the universal field of consciousness, then the power requirements will be astronomical. And that’s assuming AI could even access or interpret such data, as it isn’t a natural outcome of the fundamental formation through perception the way natural things are.

Does the country have the physical capability and technological knowledge to build more nuclear, along with sourcing the uranium to power it? Does the country have the physical capability and technological knowledge to maximize under-utilized hydroelectric capacity?

If the answers are yes, then the government can literally just fund more power generation.

>If the answers are yes, then the government can literally just fund more power generation.
Or we could force the Data Center idiots to build the required generation and water reclamation infrastructure capacity for their industry to not place undue burden on commons resources.
>>
>>28680772
The answer is No.
the NRC has done such a through job of making it impossible to build new nuclear power plants that any of the engineers who could do it are long since retired and newbs are too fucking stupid. The competency crisis is (and has been) hitting infrastructure before it hits the rest of society.

On top of these circumstances you'll find a political system that also makes it impossible. For every person who wants to make it happen, there are at least 1 or 2 who will oppose it, instead demanding stupid "green" options like solar and wind. Plus you'll always have NIMBYs who will oppose it.

BTW, uranium is shit. We need to be balls deep in thorium, but the existing uranium industry will lobby to make sure it never happens.

What's cool is that I am financially stable so I can buy an EV right now to enjoy cheap electricity prices and low maintenance costs now. Should this situation change, I can switch back to an ICE in the future.
>>
>>28680797
Yeah, I don't really buy the "competency crisis". It sounds like a narrative cooked up by MBA parasites to justify their rent-seeking over existing assets by blocking newly created assets.
>>
>>28680653
>low IQ leftist FUD again
>>
>>28680675
Are you calculating the power needed to grow, transport and cook the food needed to power a human brain?
>>
>The world will turn into Mad Max because muh AI
This bubble will burst hard in a few years eliminating most players except a select few. Meanwhile EV battery improves so much every year that by 2028 only an idiot or sports car enthusiast would buy ICE over BEV.
>>
>>28680811
>I'm financially secure so I can piss money away on stupid shit.

I think you may be lying anon, and you have garbage taste if a cuck box is appealing to you in any way.
>>
>>28680881
>AI is a bubble!
>EV battery density improvements will accelerate with no end in sight!
Lmao.

>Physical capability and technical knowledge

You need to work on your reading comprehnsion
>>

>>
>>28680864
No. Just the demand. Power demand to power demand.
>>
>>28680937
Yes thanks for repeating me
>>
>>28680653
Only a problem for the US with their stupidly inadequate infrastructure.
>>
>>28680864
A complete human needs around 250 watts when idle. A wee little kettle, more efficient than most modern graphic cards, and way smarter. The only problem is that human brain is locked in, it has extremely limited I/O capabilities, so it thinks a lot but keeps it all to itself. The moment we get proper brain implants, we'll need mere milliseconds to 1girl.
>>
>>28680797
>BTW, uranium is shit
compared to current power generation methods it's still great. what's shit about it?
>>
>>28680836
But leftoids love EVs though, they just don't like Tesla and Musk.

>what's shit about it?

1. it produces waste that remains radio active for practically forever
2. it can be used to create nuclear weapons
3. reactors using uranium can melt down

Thorium is better on all counts, and it's cheap and plentiful.
>very little waste produced
>can't be used for weapons
>meltdowns are highly unlikely, even with no intervention
>>
>>28682002
isn't the issue with thorium the corrosive nature of molten salt reactors?
>>
>>28682011
Which one? There are something like 5 different molten salt formulations.
>>
>>28682002
Fuel waste is remanufactured into other fuels that are usable for their entire lives
And "muh nooks" is a non issue with how autistically obnoxious the purity needs to be.
And lastly don't be a retard and it's a non issue for everyone
>>
>>28680669
Do you have batteries or does your solar go to the grid and you just get a credit from the electric company?
>>
>>28680653
EVs can be recharged with solar cells, petrol powered cars need massive oil refineries. EVs represent freedom. Theoretically at least, because you need large scale industry to manufacture batteries that degrade in a few years.
>>
>>28681892
You do realize that gas stations also require power to run right? Same with gas production? ICE car fuel doesn't just magically appear in your car's gas tank. A massive blackout causes bigger issues than you not being able to drive.
