most of my pads are for advance left turns, and are positioned about 3/4 of a car length behind the line, and they don't all have secondary sensors. if you pull up properly to an intersection, it'll only trigger if a second car is also behind you waiting to turn. I confuse the shit out of people by actually stopping on the pad, which is stupid far (visually) from the intersection. lucky for me, it'll get me the advance green nearly every time

If it's a left turn lane I'll pass the NPC on the left and make the turn when oncoming traffic has a gap. No I don't care about "making it dangerous" for NPCs.
