Is it better to just get a Ford F550 or Ram 5500 or a real 18 wheeler truck? What kind of jobs are these trucks good for where they might be better than a big rig?

Horsefags use them to haul their one or two horses and snowbird boomers use them to haul their big ass fifth wheels. They kind of bridge the gap between a 450/550 and an actual semi tractor. They won't feel a 20k+lb trailer where a 450/550 will but they're easy to drive as a bobtail.

If you have $40k and need a vehicle, you can buy a $40k truck but instead you can buy something for $30k and spend the $10k on renting a supercar and a track for a few laps ($500) which will certainly be more interesting automotive experience than driving a truck, trips to Asia ($2k), Africa ($3,5k) and South America ($3k).
