my shitbox camaro has a dual side exhausts, similar to the mustang in pic related. i bought a CO detector and I'm reading relatively high levels at times (upwards of 100ppm if idling for a while at a red light).Has anyone here had issues with side exhaust pipes blowing exhaust back into the cabin, either through open windows or cracks in the door seals? My seals are fucked up so it's possible. It's entirely possible that there is a leak in the shitty welds somewhere too though but I want to make sure it's not a fatal flaw of the side exhausts before ripping it apart
>>28686442should add, its a 82 camaro berlinetta that had been modified by some street racers before I bought it. the exhaust manifold and its gasket looked fine to me from as far as I can tell, and there are no obvious holes in the floor which is what makes me think it might be an issue with the door seals
>>28686442Have a friend tape the doors shut and see if it makes a difference, easy thing to rule out
Side exit shouldnt be an issue. But ill bet you have rotted seals on the firewall and more than likely h-pipe leaks.
>>28686442That's why sidepipes and exhausts that exit in front of the rear wheels are banned in many states. If it's a T-top car, start looking there - they flex a lot.
