I think what a lot of people don't get is that manufacturers around 2010~ maybe were required by European safety regulators to add a bunch of soft plastic to the front of a car to lessen the impact for pedestrians at low speeds and basically some car manufacturers decided if they were already building out the grill they might as well try to make it stylish and not just like a plastic egg crate insulation.Also, Toyota is coasting on a reputation for reliability with crude engines, rough rides, and sub-par bland cheap interiors.
