are copper flare gaskets for brake lines just not a thing in aus? hell, not even aliexpress has them; they have them for every size but 3/16" for some reason.
>>
>>28689941
Does he hate them because he keeps losing to Teslas?
>>
>>28690007
not because they're a symptom of the globohomo scheme that lessens the industry standards for anyone else

Wut. Surely you mean those little circular washers that go on banjo fittings right? Should be able to get pic related (wrong size, they should have 3/16" on the same rack though) in a little plastic packet from a rack somewhere in Supercheap or Repco.

No, he quite literally means a "copper flare gasket". He's trying to fix a fucked up brake line flare.

I liked the look of the BA, BF and FG, FG-X falcons, simpler and cleaner lines than the AU before.
Being old and crap, I very nearly pulled the trigger on a G6E Turbo when they were new, but it was a little more debt than I wanted and possibly just not stupid enough for my retarded tastes

what does that mean?
>>
>>28691298
making low quality barebones ipad interiors and low longevity an acceptable standard and pushing emissions bs further in the wrong direction
>>
>>28691327
that's not exclusive to EVs; almost all modern cars are like that
>>
>>28691337
I believe he's trying to blame that entirely on EVs
>>
>>28691338
what really irks me is that EVs have excellent potential for their use case but the issue is that car manufacturers don't even know what that is, even though it's as clear as day. we're in the beginning/adoption stage of a new technology and naturally the results are often sloppy or misguided. i just want a somewhat lightweight and simple rear wheel drive EV with a moderately small battery that DOESN'T have an always-online connection to the internet. it shouldn't be this difficult to make an EV miata but we have to give it time... even if it will (most likely) result in sports EVs that are made exclusively for the wealthy upper class
>>
every time i go down the street i see a new ching chong car brand
how fucking many of these fucking things are there
>>
>>28691400
As many as there needs to be
Domestic manufacturing is dead and Japanese/euro cars are too expensive for most people
>>
>>28691405
How poor are we as a country now when most people can no longer afford Japanese cars, ironically the "more affordable" alternative historically? It's pretty stark when you see all the Yanks on /o/ posting their Challengers, M2s, Mustangs, and Corvettes. There was a brief period in time when Australia was just as wealthy if not better off than the USA.
>>
>>28691418
it's not that they can't afford japanese cars, it's that chinese cars are much cheaper for a similar level of quality
it's like when lexus brought out the LS400 - it wasn't as nice as an S-class but it was 90% of the way there but for 50% of the price and for a lot of people that's good enough
>>
>>28691425
>it's that chinese cars are much cheaper for a similar level of quality
They only have the illusion of being similar levels of quality though IMO. The interiors *look* similar to a more premium vehicle but they're always made of cheap and nasty plastics, seats are uncomfortable, and all the contact surfaces wear badly and look flogged after 50,000km.

That's not even mentioning the mechanical side of things which are very clearly nowhere near as good as even a low end Japanese vehicle. How many of those horrible little MG hatchbacks have you heard with a broken exhaust? I feel like every second one I hear has a busted weld somewhere.
