How much additional performance on the top end can I expect from the current crop of 450 twins over the KLR/DR/xr650l? As in, how much more acceleration can I expect in 4th/5th over 80mph from the 450s?

If dropping a gear at 80mph and wringing out the throttle doesn't let me get around a semi significantly quicker than the singles, then the extra weight for the small twins isn't worth it, and I'll have to suck it up and look at a mid-size twin instead.
