Not if you plan on doing any highway miles. Fun to poke around town in, but definitely not built for highway speeds for any actual length of time.

Site/town hack. Eight by four is the size every truck used to be measured by and you can get that in a hatchback.

but they look so cool
>>
>>28690333
They cover daily tasks very well. If you plan ahead more than a week, they're too small. They're like the "last half-mile" type of vehicle that you drive around large properties or on your land where the big farm truck might not make sense.

>>

Anon, it's a city truck. Obviously it's not for pullin houses down and haulin oil rigs 6000 miles through Texas. Shit that most truck owners don't do anyway.
>>
>>28690333
They're literally work trucks, no shit they're practical.
They're built for small japanese streets and low speeds though so they're not ideal for spread out american cities and highways. If you want one to drive around town or as a farm truck, they're great.

The sambar is generally considered the best for highway use as it has the highest top speed, and the 4 banger is a little better than the triples in the other offerings. Also you get more cabin room if you're tall
The suzuki carry f6a is the same engine in cappuccinos which had a factory turbo if you want an easy bolt on turbo, but the actual location of the engine sucks compared to the acty or sambar.
Actys are good because Hondas just werk, but they're all about the same.
>>
>>28690333
Not in the developed world. They're useless on-road. Yes that includes inner city usage. Being slower than a semi tractor is not practical. Nobody thinks they're cute or quirky they just think you're a fucking asshole for using the wrong tool for the job. Even off-road on a big piece of land they still can't do what a UTV or a quad can do. They're also pointless in America because they're old as fuck by the time you can import them. Dropping $5k+ on a 25 year old truck that's a bitch to get parts for is not practical.
>>
>>28690796
Not to mention a lot of states won't let you register them
>>
>>28690796
>They're useless on-road. Yes that includes inner city usage.
Retard
>Nobody thinks they're cute or quirky they just think you're a fucking asshole
Literally never met a single person that voices this opinion other than (you) on this shithole.
>>
>>28690939
Care to elaborate on that? The average vehicle on the roads does 0-60 in under 6 seconds... How does driving something that can't even go 60 make any sense?

>this shithole
Bingo. This place is a bunch of low test faggots who like pedo cartoons on their vehicles. Of course they like and defend these cuck toys.
>>
>>28690951
>The average vehicle on the roads does 0-60 in under 6 seconds
holy fucking retard
>>
>>28690952
I think you missed the "developed world" part of my original post. Here 50% of traffic is new pickup trucks which do 60 in under 6 seconds. The rest is all Teslas and high end crossovers/SUV's which also pull that off.
>>
>>28690962
People aren't fucking gunning it as fast as their car can physically go from every stop, anon. You could outpace city traffic in a 100hp shitbox if you felt like it.
>>
>>28690962
you're genuinely too stupid to attempt to converse with. I assume you're the same dipshit that seethes at kei trucks every single kei truck thread.

I have cars that take 10+ seconds to get to 60 and have literally no problem keeping up with traffic. I "beat" people off the line through intersections in it while just driving normally. People aren't flooring it off the line and trying to get the lowest ET to 60 at every red light. Most people barely fucking move, even if we were to pretend that your sub 6 seconds average is even remotely true (it's not)

reminder that the c5 corvette is ~5 seconds to 60 stock. and your claim is that's an average car on the road today? lmfao

Depends where you live I guess. Here people are either slow as fuck or aggressive as fuck. They're for sure going to be aggressive when they see this cuckbox. That's going to make you look slow and look like an asshole.

>>28690972
Why the fuck are you bringing up a 20 year old sports car when were talking new vehicles here? Yes there are a lot of fucking new vehicles that are faster than 20 year old "fast" cars. Do they not have technology where you spawned from? Now how the fuck do you think a 25 year old dangerously slow vehicle will perform with these new vehicles?

>>28690976
Where is that the average vehicle? Nobody buys those in North America. Again... Lets review the "developed world" part.
>>
>>28690970
>You could outpace city traffic in a 100hp shitbox if you felt like it.
I outpaced traffic in my exactly 101whp miata literally every single day when I had it.
I can even outpace traffic in my 65hp mk1 golf and my 63hp samurai.
literally any car that can reach speed limit will keep up with average traffic without any problem. but anon read a brochure for his 4 foot bed f150 and thinks 5.4 seconds to 60 is what he gets from leisurely driving.

no, it really doesn't. there's no where on earth that average traffic is flooring it every stop. you're full of shit.
>Where is that the average vehicle? Nobody buys those in North America.
no one buys cuckovers in the us anymore? sure fooled me when I saw 800 of them today. literally saw 3 corolla crosses like an hour ago on my drive home.
let me guess, no one's buying rav4s either?
a c5 may be 25 years old, but it's still a 3100lb 350hp car. that's going to be faster than a vast majority of cars on the road today.
>>
>>28690990
>>
>>28690996
YOu're still not getting it. Do you not understand how a vehicle that does 0-60 in the 5-9 second range will still be fast as fuck at 50% throttle compared to something that does 0-50 in 20+ seconds at full power?

People gobble cuckovers up but they're going for higher end hybrids like the RAV4 plug in or your stereotypical basic bitch German cuckover like the Q5, X5, etc.

>3 cars under 6 seconds, one by .1 second for a higher trip, one is a tesla that drive slower than the average prius from 20 years ago, and one is the highest trim v6 trd camry, while the actual hybrid shitheap people buy takes 7 seconds

7-9 is your actual average, with 6 being "quick" traffic.
and again, none of this fucking matters because no one is driving as fast as their car can possibly go at every stop. average is probably more like 10-15 seconds.
I outpace people at stop lights in my 63 hp, 19 second to 60 samurai, which is to my knowledge the only usdm street legal kei car.
>>
They are fine for a small property or if you live in Asia. I wouldn't drive one in the USA or Australia. I have a kc Suzuki carry that I just use as a beater when I make under 20 minute trips.
>>
>>28690990
>Depends where you live I guess.
No, anon, it does not depend where you live. No one is ripping 5 second 0-60s at every stop light.
What I think is happening here, is that you don't own or drive a car, and so you have no concept of how fast a 5/6 second 0-60 really is.
>>
>>28691027
>drive kei truck on us roads
>brittany filming a tiktok doesn't see her light is red
>plows into your truck
>you die
yeah nah fuck driving basically anything in the US. we need to revoke 80% of licenses.
>>
>>28691042
I don't know where you retards live that people are flooring it from stoplight to stoplight and tiktokers are crashing into your cars every day, but driving in my area seems a lot less chaotic.
>>
>>28691009
>>28691041
Man you guys are really struggling with this really simple concept. Cope by posting slow crossovers all you want but that doesn't change the fact that a kei truck will still be holding back a 400hp truck or a 300hp minivan or even slower vehicles at 20% throttle.
>>
>>28691044
I saw a 6 car pileup today and saw someone rearend a car at ~40 without even attempting to slow down. people suck at driving. I actually support the average grocery getting being self driving because they'd probably be less likely to kill me in their 9000lb ev cuckover.
there literally is not a single day that goes by that I don't see at least half a dozen people I would consider bad drivers.
>>
>>28691046
Again, anon, you can outpace traffic in the slowest rickety fucking shitbox imaginable because people don't actually drive all that fast.
>>
>>28691046
you're making up a scenario that doesn't reflect reality based on specs your read online. this isn't even typical /o/ benchracing, this is just bench casual driving
if you're going to speed of traffic you aren't holding anyone up. The 400hp truck driver isn't trying to break a land speed record on 45mph city streets. kei trucks are fine for what they were intended for, which is why they continue to be produced and used every day in japan.
I saw literally hundreds in the 2 weeks I was there and never once saw someone blaring on their horn for them to get out of the way.
>>
>>28691047
And yet somehow all these retards manage to crash into each other and never me. Makes you think.
>>
>>28691054
>it could never happen to me
you can avoid most accidents with good situational awareness and defensive driving, but sometimes you just get unlucky. I've made it 13 years without a single accident, but I try not to get careless since I know its entirely possible.
a friend of mine got tboned by a highschool girl because, and I quote, "I was texting, I always hit this light green so I didn't even look up"
>>
>>28691061
See, if there were a car about to blow through an intersection I would simply not pull out in front of it.
>>
>>28691062
I don't know exactly what happened, but according to him
>driving up to red light
>light turns green ~5 seconds before he gets to it
>drive through light
>teenager driving on side street (so low visibility with fences/houses/trees in the way) plows into him

I knew another guy who got hit head on by a driver who got on the freeway the wrong direction because he was about 50 shots deep
so yeah, it sounds nice that you could never be the victim of a retard, but retards are everywhere.
>>
>>28691074
>retards are everywhere
I'm well aware, it's why I compulsively look for them every time I go anywhere.
>>
>>28691087
keep up the good work friend, I pray for both of us to never encounter one

Some other anon mentioned it but the problem with these things in the US is that used side by sides are cheaper and more practical in their size category.

not even remotely true lol
farmers love these things because they're just better street legal* side by sides.
>>
Christ if this thread shows the mind of the average pickup owner then America is fucked.
>>
>>28690749
As a Texan I can confirm, most truck buyers are faggots who never use their truck bed. I haul more shit in my Porsche than most people do in their Fords and Chevys.
