>Hurr nobody wants big touchscreens in modern cars
Reminder that the people who say this never buy new cars to begin with

90% of comments you see under car videos are poorfags who can’t even afford a 10 year old honda
>>
No *person* wants a touchscreen on their console. NPCs, brown people, and women absolutely love them though.
>>
>>28691343
>only 99% of the planet wants this
Hmm
>>
>>28691332
I bought a new car, and don't want a screen. Unfortunately the car I wanted wasn't available without one, if it was I would have bought it instead.
>>
>>28691332
Screens are too small.

>90% of comments you see under car videos are poorfags who can’t even afford a 10 year old honda
Nope, those are people frustrated with how cheap and tacky everything is for the premium that they demand, don't tell me you think a cheap screen that looks like shit, probably cost the company next to nothing, is better than actual buttons? Go join the crew of mystery meat and stupid women that desire flash and zero substance.
>>
>>28691369
So you are sheep with no free will?
>>
>>28691332
Literally not true. most poorfags I see are making payments on new cars they can't afford.
>>
>>28691369
how about just don't buy a new car your fucking idiot.
Engine tech has only gotten worse and you could replace an engine (which will last longer than a modern engine) in pic rel 10x over for the price of a new car.
>>
>>28691332
It is true though. Most people want the central column out of the way and they want normal dials and controls. I don't need or want something between an ipad and a full on TV in the car.

My recent Toyota has one and I leave it turned off 98% of the time as it is a distraction and fills the car with unwanted light at night.

All of these things are complete shit.

Nor fo I wamt a squar3 steerimg wheel. Lol. Stupif cartoon feature.
>>
>>28691395
Kek what the fuck do you mean?

>>28691410
I own just as many old cars as I do new, I just like to drive man. A lot of improvements have been made in cars over the last couple of decades. It's interesting to compare and contrast. For a daily driver I'd prefer (and already own) an older American car like you posted. But for weekend drivers it's fun to try new stuff out
>>
>>28691457
Maybe I'm just an autistic retard, but after driving my 80/90s shitboxes I can't stand driving new cars just for the visibility alone.
I recently drove my friend's Mazda 3 and it was like trying to look out of a cheese grater. Same with the new Elantra's and the the new F150s feel like a Maisto RC car. Not in speed or handling, but in the fact that everything feels so light and fragile. Closing the door on a new F150 feels like closing the door on a barbie toy.
>>
>>28691461
Nah I know exactly what you mean. I feel a lot safer driving my 70s Ford than anything modern just because I can actually see around me. That's why most of my new cars have been convertible, easy way around all the giant pillars and such. As for the cheapness, just depends on the cars. Some of the new stuff is built pretty decent, and some is just a pile of cheap plastic (Nissan). One of the reasons test driving is always necessary

The worst will be in the future trying to replace all these screens. Old double din units were standard and you could buy pop out screens and what have you.

Having driven a new M2 the screen had glare and while I like having a screen for Android auto I hate these modern interiors. Just give me a 2005 Audi s4 that was perfect.
>>
>>28691332
There's nothing wrong with touch screens.
There is a lot wrong with those touch screens being non modular, bound to car specific hardware and brand specific software (which is always shit)
>>
>>28691393
Apart from volume and steering wheel controls. Touch screens are better.
>>
>>28691489
Hey retard, ive literally never had a screen randomly die on me. The screens will outlive the cars. It's a non-issue. Stop being so fucking retarded.
>>
>too poor for buttons
lamo do brokeies really?
>>
>>28691489
a polite, easy to ignore screen down on the center console like that is FINE.
Having them stick up over the dash, or at eye line that just makes me never want to buy a new car, ever. they are tacky and ugly as all fucking hell.
>>
>>28691563
God you're a fucking idiot. Would you still use a cassette tape on an old car or have you put in a Bluetooth compatible system? Not only do these screens glare but they will be a pain in the ass when new tech comes out that renders them basically inoperable and instead of an hour job throwing in a single din for Bluetooth you have to remodel an entire dash. Screens do die over time or get shitty especially these touchscreens that need to cope with direct sunlight and baking when parked out in sun or frozen in the snow. They are also fuck ugly and thank God for Android auto saving us from carmakers infotainment
>>
I dont mind a tablet for infotainment in the honda or mazda way but replacing the entire cluster with another tablet is gaudy af
>>
>>28691332
>no physical climate controls
>glossy black plastic
>no physical door lock
>screens slapped on to dash with no integration

This is a KIA interior.

Theres nothing more pleb-tier, low class and cheap than giant touchscreens in cars

Who the fuck cares if it's outdated, I lease my npc commuter shitbox for 4 years wash rinse and repeat. Nobody cares about your poorfag opinions.

Riding as a passenger in anything newer than 2020 (or even earlier) feels claustrophobic as fuck. Really uncomfortable.

I don't want a big touchscreen to replace physical controls for often used functions. I want to be able to adjust my climate control without looking down at a screen. I don't want to use a capacitive touch slider with zero haptic feedback. I don't want to have to navigate into the gear selector submenu to shift into reverse.

doesn't change anything I said

imagine being the brown subhuman retard thinking a touch screen is "advanced" tech in 2025, its pedestrian slop for the unwashed masses
>>
>>28692173
Now show the picture with the screen hidden, because Rolls knew their customers wouldn't want to see it constantly
>>
>>28692191
Son, that's a Rolls-Royce.
>>
this car costs $3000
>>
>>28691563
No one cares about your big gay anecdote. I've test driven a 2006 Lexus IS350 with a dead screen so the air con was stuck on auto and fan speed couldn't be controlled.
>>
>>28691345
If that's how many we have to genocide, so be it
>>
>>28692446
hey i remember you mentioning that. when i had 19s on my camry i hit a pothole on two separate occasions so hard that the screen rebooted itself lmfao.

We like cars here
>>

I've driven shit like this, at night it's annoying as he'll because I can't see out my windows.
>>
>>28692514
I test drove a 2011 LS460 and the screen rebooted during the test drive. I didn't buy the car. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
>>
>>28692582
that's too bad, did you consider the newer gen of ls?
its too bad they abandoned it and never updated the interior
>>
>>28692583
I did test drive a 2018 LS500 and I liked it, even though I missed the sound of that sexy V8. It's a very nice car on the inside but I just worry about that twin turbo V6 shitting the bed and leaving me with a fat bill.
