Why are roundabouts so retarded? At least the ones with 2 lanes.
Look at green, how does it know if yellow and purple are going to continue or exit the round about?

>yellow/purple should signal and green should yield
green can't see yellow/purple's right turn signal from there, it's literally not possible
>green should signal and yellow/purple should yield.
sounds retarded and I don't think anyone else does that but at least this is somewhat plausible
>green should not exit when it has purple/yellow right next to it
makes sense but does not work during rush hour or with speeding retards

now this stuff rarely happens when there's light traffic but during rush hour it's fucking scary to use those things. I envy americans for not having to deal with those.

There is a SIMPLE FUCKING RULE here: Do not enter the roundabout if there is traffic in the roundabout. Doesn't matter what lane. End of fucking story.
>>
>>28691974
Except literally nobody does this and it does not work when there's a lot of traffic like during rush hour.
Of course following this rule in a small roundabout in a suburb is easy.

Look at this video nobody waits for the roundabout to be empty before entering

It is Saturn worship. They do it on purpose and get a thrill out of the disruption it causes. Same reason Indians worship wheels.

Each car represents a planet rotating around the central northern God. You might think this far-fetched but it does sum up how Saturn-worship works and it is consistent with their requirements to causes as many problems as possible.

Where it isn't busy it isn't needed, as there could just be a crossroads and give-way signs on one side. Where it is busy enough to be needed it is prone to channel capture causing far more disruption than just having a traffic light junction.

Most roundabout problems end up being solved by adding traffic lights instead of taking away the roundabout.

All roundabout are dangerous too. The traffic flow is over-complicated and difficult for inexperienced drivers to understand. Or any driver already tired or distracted. Cars from all directions crossing each other's paths.

Most accidents happen at roundabouts.

Roundabouts really only work and there's low congestion.
With higher amounts of cars around, traffic lights are significantly more efficient.

>it's another "mutts can't understand roundabouts" thread

It's really fucking simple retard:
>left lane for turning left
>right lane for turning right
>both lanes go straight
>yield to BOTH LANES when entering the roundabout

There are no collisions with this simple rule, but for some reason you retarded mutts start inventing rules about changing lanes in the middle of the roundabout to exit because you think the outside lane has right of way and the inside lane is just there for people who want to go around and around forever or something - retarded.
>>
>>28692367
Roundabouts work fine in high traffic, it's only UNBALANCED traffic where they have a problem - like peak hour traffic where all the traffic is flowing in one direction so the cars from other directions might never get a chance for a break in traffic.
>>
>>28692458
now retard tell me what happens when you are already in the roundabout and a another retard doesn't yield (happens 90% of the time in rush hour) and are right next to you when you need to exit? as another anon said those things only work in light traffic areas but the moment they get crowded all those retarded rules fall apart quickly

also the op clearly said "i envy americans" but you are too stupid to read of course
>>
>>28692458
most double lane roundabouts where im at have the arrows marked on each lane right before entering, anyone that struggles with those has bigger issues to worry about. otherwise people usually default to what you say (inner lane can only go 2nd, 3rd exit or u-turn; outer lane can only go 1st or 2nd exit)
>>
>>28692460
>Roundabouts work fine in high traffic,
They are inferior to traffic lights at peak hours.
There's been a few studies done on it.
The data is irrefutable.

Like I said:
Single lane Roundabouts work great in low congestion areas.
Euros are delusional and wrapped up in a weird sense of pride and superiority on this subject.

If it has multiple lanes, shouldn't there also be a sign showing where you can exit from either lane, like this?
>>
Use the clock method, retard.

Left or 12 o clock (straight ahead) go left lane, going right or a turn that is at 3 o clock, go right lane.

There are exceptions but these will be shown on road markings or on signs. I wouldn't expect Americans to know how to read though so I guess the roundabout is a good way to kill a few of them off.
>>
Roundabouts are the ultimate filter for people who aren't confident about driving.

Sometimes the gap is tiny and you have to floor it to get onto the roundabout or else you'll be waiting forever, especially when it's busy. You've got to know your car, if it's slow to accelerate, you're better off waiting since cars already on the roundabout will have to brake when you enter it like an old woman who forgot her glasses.

If you drive like a fucking homo, they are a nightmare.
>>
>>28692930
Not always as I can tell from my visits in Spain.
>Many two- or three-lane roundabouts.
>First roundabout: Left lane, left or straight only. Right lane, right turn only.
>Next roundabout: Left lane, left turn only. Right lane, straight or right only.
>No signs like your pic whatsoever.
>Get oftenly honked when going straight.
>You must apply what local motorists (!!) decided, if you don't know beforehand you should never enter the streets at all.

Even better:
>All vehicles over 3.5 tonnes must stay right within towns/cities.
>Applies in roundabouts as well, because law does not allow flexibility.
>You must use the right lane when turning left with a truck because the inner lane has not enough space.
>In a collision (see roundabout #1 above), both motorists are at fault: Car driver must know a truck belongs on the right lane of a roundabout, truck driver must watch out for vehicles from all directons.
>>
>>28692474
now retard tell me what happens when you are going straight ahead at a green light and somebody smashes into the side of you because they ran a red.

That's how retarded you sound.
>>
>>28692930
That's how it should be, unfortunately retardo drivers will cut you on their first exit from the inner lane.

Them being slightly scary is what also makes them safe, but it's a double whammy when there's also extra stress from cars piling up behind you and honking as you wait for your chance to slip in. I agree they suck when traffic is heavy. I live in a place where roundabouts may have two lanes for the entrance but only one for any exits. So that means going directly over the roundabout may be very awkward and you really have to do a good shoulder check when leaving the inner lane as you may fail to yield and collide with someone taking the same route via outer lane.

Other than that roundabouts are my least hated type of intersection, very pleasant in light to moderate traffic as long as you keep your cool and understand that your transition through this intersection is meant to be slow and smooth. Yield/stop signs suck really bad where there's poor visibility due to parked cars or you have cars opposite of you that have the same yield/stop sign but the main road between both of you has multiple lanes and very few chances to join or cross this main flow, people always have to break the proper priority to make things work. And I hate traffic lights because yellow lights always require instant decision whether to stop (which can be way too abrupt unintentionally) or try to speed past them. Blinking greens at least prepare you in advance, but checking pedestrian lights going red is not reliable at all depending on how they're programmed.

making a roundabout out of an intersection
>>
>>28693009
I had a similar thing when I was in England.
In Australia, all multi-lane roundabouts have painted arrows that tell you what directions the lanes can go in.
In the UK I was driving at night, in the raid, and came up on a two lane roundabout. No markings.
So I used the logic of both lanes can go straight, left lane can also go left and right lane can go right.
I was in the right lane and went straight. What I didn't know was the exit of the roundabout was apparently one lane and a local was in the left lane and had a go at me for cutting him off.
>>
>>28693537
2 lane roundabouts are great and you're low IQ if you think otherwise.
>>
>>28693779
Roundabouts are more efficient, and safer.
>>
>>28694143
Only euros care about efficiency or safety, it is way more fun stopping at a light and racing the other cars for half a mile until the next stop. Rince and repeat. Also gives you a chance to check your phone while you're stopped, would be irresponsible to do so while driving through a roundabout.

>Op adds arrows that follows the simple rules set by the graph.
>bitches it doesn't work.
If you go straight, you go in the left lane. That means yellow will go behind green and leave the right lane free for green to exit. If yellow wanted to tale the same exit as green, they'd take different lane and it'd be fine.

If yellow doesn't yield, he's force itself in front of you in the left lane so the right is free, or driving much slower than you and taking a longer trajectory, so you can exit in front of him.

Literally the only way there could be a collision is if yellow speeds up to run straight into your car on purpose and at that point he's the guy that would run a red light and T-bone someone.

And if it's a larger roundabout, tou don't wait you exit to cross 5 lanes, you anticitpate ad get to the right lane before your exit.
>>
Sometimes I wonder how some people even managed to get a driver's license when they're filtered by fucking roundabouts of all things. In fact, I've met people that hate roundabouts in person and seen them drive and they are precisely the ones breaking the rules on roundabouts.
>>

There's a stretch of about 5 2 lane roundabouts and it was honeslty the best commute when i had work near there.
Most normies stay on the inside lane when going straight, so i could always just duck into the outside lane a pass about 4 cars consistently.

These are hated in America. We like to lock eyes with where we want to go and then point the car that way. The idea of looking where you want to go then having to look in a different direction to drive in a circle confuses and enrages us.
