I don't know who wrote this picture, but they are stupid. The problem is thag the Germans thought the Chinese would always be reliable buyers instead of them just stealing their designs and tech (along with South Korea). Now they are fucked because German luxury is easy copied by the Chinese to the point where fucking Buick is seen as more luxury to the Chinese
>>
Nobody outside America buys American cars yet Ford and GM are not bleeding money. Vag sells in all markets, including the more free American market, on top of having government stake in the company. And they’re dying.

How is the titan of Europe getting btfo this hard.
>>
>>28693695
Also just in general, VW was the first to run into the EV issue of people not wanting just a worse tesla with a name brand. The VW Buzz is the second icon of the failed EV push (the icon being the dodge charger Daytona) as they just shat something out and charged a premium thinking sales would follow.
>>
>>28693706
They also fucked up hard trying to reinvent their cars's UX with that touch-driven software platform nobody wanted, except maybe retarded suits. Even their bosses and designers have admitted they went too far---people wanted a practical, modern car, and what they got was some sort of glossy plastic space ship on four wheels where you have to hold your hand steady with the other hand so you can adjust the volume without accidentally setting it and the AC temp to 0% or 100% because your finger slipped on the (non-backlit) touch slider area.
There were tons of bugs at first, too, among them actual "car unusable because dashboard is bricked" bugs.

Some of their EVs are selling ok-ish now in some countries where they don't trust the Chinese and don't want Teslas for various reasons, but I don't think their margins are very high, not with their crazy expenses.
>>
>>28693686
China won. Better cars for a fraction of the price.
The market has spoken.
>>
>>28693740
Unless it is tesla, companies lose money on every EV sold, even the Chinese which are heavily subsidized are losing money on every EV

Trust me, they're all losing money
>>

They knew they would get only 10 years of growth from China. They didn’t really plan so well for it ending, nor China going all in on vehicles.

>>28693705
They spent billions on EVs and can’t make a good one that isn’t a decade behind Tesla and the Taycan is a disaster sales and warranty wise.

they only scammed governments demanding unreasonable emissions levels. customers got quality cars. reminder most other car companies got busted cheating the diesel emissions too, they just didn't get the press coverage. there's a reason why the EU abandoned the diesel shilling they had been pushing since the 90s and switched to EVs.
>>
>>28694473
>demanding unreasonable emissions levels. customers got quality cars.
Quality cars that worsened air quality for everyone around and caused cancer? Yeah what a great pitch you got there buddy lmao. How much is the German government paying you?

I'm pretty certain a shitton of sales are fleets of various official vehicles. VW has always relied on those to prop itself up.
>>
>>28694791
Oh boy, you're going to be amazed when air quality is mostly localized to regions and not globally impacted! Not that you care since you're clearly a disingenuous poster trying to downplay actual harm from VW to pretend it's a good guy. You really are a paid shill I guess!

yes, early 00s VAG were quality cars
>b-b-but muh EMISSIONS!!!!!
even with the cheating they still put out less emissions than a car built to Euro 3 standards. Would you say Europe in 1998 was a polluted hellhole?

So you virtue signalling faggots couldn't care less about pollution or "climate change" so long as another country suffers from it? Leftoids are the worse human beings on the planets.
>>
>>28693686
Shouldn't have sucked all that Jewish cum and pushed every single ESG initiative available

Also should have told the German government to have some balls and keep the nukes running... They literally decommissioned functioning mid life cycle nukes for the green agenda

I also understand that they have union problems, vw workers are like their own upper middle class. Why do auto makers always have their workers unionise and start taking the piss with benefits so far beyond the rest of the employment market?
>>
>>28695819
What happened on Tiananmen square 3-4 June 1989?
>>
>>28695843
>vw workers are like their own upper middle class
At some point, they had better pay and benefits than medical doctors in many nearby countries.
VW somehow managed to avoid shutting down every production line in Germany after painful negotiations with the unions, but I'm still not sure if the company could be viable without all those German federal subsidies and tax incentives.

I'm not sure what they were thinking, trying to become some kind of premium German Engineered(tm) brand of boring commuter cars, asking for premium prices while barely keeping up with random chinashit and Stellantis slop in terms of engineering or design.

VW sells more EVs in Europe than Tesla currently. That really isn't their problem here.
>>
>>28694973
> Would you say Europe in 1998 was a polluted hellhole?
Dangereously polluted, yes.
>>
>>28695975
ah, yes
6 months of non-stop msm hate campaigns against tesla and musk
and vw, the world's 2nd biggest auto mfg, has managed to inch ahead of tesla (startup, only really mainstream for 10 years) by 20% or so
for half a year
during which, the model y, tesla's best selling car, was awaiting refresh and nobody was buying it
im sure everything is fine, VW is totally not in its death spiral
>>
>>28695993
>this car manufacturer that sells 10 million cars a year is in its death spiral
>not the car manufacturer that was just cut off from subsidies in its home country
>>
>>28695978
Wasn't that mostly because of burning coal for power in central and eastern Europe? The Germans were pretty fucking naive switching to Russian gas the way they did, but at least they're not fucking up the air with that much coal soot any more.
Hell, given the amount of coal you have to burn to get any usable power, and the stuff being rather good at absorbing all kinds of shit like radioactive heavy metals, coal power may have released more of them into the atmosphere than nuclear plants ever did (including the ones that blew up).
>>
>>28695847

>Also should have told the German government to have some balls and keep the nukes running... They literally decommissioned functioning mid life cycle nukes for the green agenda
Imagine actually believing this. The German government has zero independence. it is an American-occupied satrapy ruled directly from Washington on any serious issue.

The shift away from nuclear had nothing to do with the "green agenda" no matter what was said in public. It had everything to do with making Germany more dependent on energy imports, specifically American natural gas.
>>
>>28696022
The original decision to decomission them came from Gazprom Gerry, and it was eventually enacted by Stasi Angie.
Both of them on the FSB payroll in one form or another.
>>
>>28695978
im sure there is no connection to heavy industry and energyproduction whatsoever
