Engines are smaller and less powerful and standard equipment is worse.Cars like the Mustang or Charger are white trash daily drivers in the US. You can own one without any special effort. That's not the case in countries where you have to pay $5 in taxes on every gallon of fuel and you need to pay road tax based on engine size and power. The closest equivalent to a trailer trash Mustang you're going to find is an E46 320d with a smokey chiptune making 160 HP.
