Um, my car ran out of battery because I didnt drive it for over a monthwhat should i do?
>>28696716drive it for over a month to run the battery back in
>>28696716Turn the battery upside down and let it sit overnight
>>28696716Drive your car more often
please, serious replies only, idk what to do
>>28696729put it in your microwave and let it run for 20 seconds, should be fully charged
>>28696716There's an old school mechanic my daddy taught me, you put petroleum jelly on your terminals and that keeps the battery from draining
>>28696716>>28696729Get some jumper cables and charge the battery
>>28696716buy trickle charger
>>28696737what kind, im dumb sorry
>>28696774The same kind your dad beat you with. Ask him.
>>28696777never had a dad, died befoer i was born
>>28696785That explains why you're such a faggot.
>>28696774Just watch a yt vid you idiot.
>>28696729if manual then push it down the hill, jump into rolling car, key to ignition, 3rd gear and drop the clutch
>>28697286he doesn't have the critical thinking skills to do a Google search. you think he's going to figure that out?
Op here, got the neighbour to give me a jump
I don't actually know what to do if this happens. The way my car is parked i can't open the hood because theres a cabinet that blocks it.
>>28697681So you're aware of the potential issue, and do nothing to solve it? Ok.
>>28697695well i could try to practice reverse parking
>>28696716You might need a new battery. Lead-acid batteries tend to lose capacity permanently if left uncharged for long.If it's been empty for a month, I'm not sure if I would trust that thing to hold charge any more.If you don't have one, go buy some cheap "smart" charger and see if it can charge it up at all. Doesn't need to be fancy, some $30 unit will probably do if you're not in a hurry. If the battery even accepts charge, let it charge to full, disconnect the charger and check again the next day.If the battery's voltage drops below spec quickly after being disconnected from the charger, you can go buy a new battery too. You can then use your new charger to maintain it every now and then so this won't happen again.
>>28697681Don't park it like that?
>>28697681Put car in neutral and push it dip shit.
>>28696716Ask the bull for a jumpstart before you start prepping him
>>28696785How did he deaded?
>>28696729Jumpstart car and drive around for awhile to recharge it, what else? Go pick up a trickle charger at harbor freight while you're at it.
>>28698381old age
>a thread died for this
>>28697701Sitting for a month should be rechargable, it'll have some loss of life depending on how old the battery is. Mine's going on 3+ years and 4 weeks of drain down would probably kill it. Less than a year old battery would/should be fine.OP you might consider going to a hardware store and picking up a DECENT car batt charger, one that has a recondition option, and run the batt through the recon cycle when you have a day or two where you dont need to do anything.
