why the fuck would I wax my car? it's not 2005. Ceramic is better in every way.
>>
>>28700327
Yeah but car dealing detailing companies just add the word ceramic to every product they have now.
I've seen professionally done ceramic jobs that look good, but those are $1,000.
>>
>>28700327
They make ceramic wax nowadays.

I mean it makes the car pop the most but it's not worth it unless you're a show car faggot. You have products like gyeon wet coat that you literally spray on for 1 second then immediately rinse off and get weeks worth of protection. Ceramic coatings that cost 1k and need curing time seem highly overrated because you still need to actually wash your car constantly. If you're doing a wash every week or 3 then why wouldn't you just use a ceramic wash. Same with ppf absolutely pointless on a car worth less than 100k usd. Imagine paying a fifth of your cars worth for a thin sheet of plastic lmao. If it's a Porsche or Ferrari with a custom paint job then sure.
>>
>>28700481
or you can get the materials for like $150 dollars and do it yourself
>>
>>28700484
Yes sure however the average Joe barely washes their car or does a good job of it when they do. While I'm here and complaining another thing that gets me is getting a paint correction immediately from the factory it's show car bullshit and people have lost their minds. Enjoy your factory fresh paint for a year before you blow money on polishing it off after it was just painted.
>>
>>28700197
my toyota is 27 years old. I'm not waxing that cunt lmao.
the patina adds charm anyway.

not my problem
>I've seen professionally done ceramic jobs that look good, but those are $1,000.
nanobond is $35 for a bottle and has shown to be great in every single head to head comparison done over several years. Take an afternoon to apply it, then refresh every couple months with turtle wax spray shit.
>>28700366
pretty much, yes.
>>28700399
>Hi grampa. Did you mean graphene?
graphene coatings are ceramic coatings with graphene oxide additives.

The GT3 RS owners that I race with, all have full ceramic work done.

I'm going full ceramic soon. I've been using basic ceramic sprays for a while and they're incredible, so I might as well go all in and do it properly.

>>28700366
Always was, at least if protection was your goal. Carnauba was typically meant for show cars and weekenders that would rarely be outside.

While the attention of all you car care nerds are ITT I have a question about how I should remedy this carbon fiber hood. I'm no body guy but I dare say it needs a new clear coat I don't wanna paint it if I can save it.

ive never worked with carbon fibre but if thats a clear coat over the resin id probably say its fucked and needs taking off and doing again, maybe the resin underneath is fine. you may as well hit it with some wet dry and try polishing it up before going crazy with it though.

Thanks bros. What are your tips about a lightly scratched touch radio screen?
>>
>>28701201
either live with them or try a very light cutting compound. It's the same as polishing anything. you're just removing a very very thin layer of material until you get the surface below where the scratch was.
>>
>>28701237
What hand tool should be used then to interact with the delicate surface?
>>
>>28701260
your finger and a microfiber cloth
mask off any buttons and shit if there are any that you could get polish into.

Of course the car is garage kept. Work on your deductive reasoning, anon. Maybe take a philosophy class or something.
