What's stopping me from buying one of these electric turbos, turning it into a gas turbine, and using that to charge my EV? Apart from crippling retardation?

Tesla's semi which is advertised as having silly fast acceleration for a class 8 truck does 0-60 in 20 seconds, so slower than the turbine in an Abrams.

Unless you're getting free fuel, the odds of you beating the price of municipal power with your own generator (standard or turbine) are slim.
