I can't decide what I want to mod first on my mk7.5 GTI
Cold air intake or a weighted shift knob and short shifter
I only have the spare cash for one
>>
>>28703270
Suspension, exhaust, or tint should be the first mod besides getting some MICHELINs or VREDESTEINs
After changing all the fluids to RED LINE
Then charge coolers or intercoolers, oil cooler, blow off valve, inlets, new turbos, built engine
Then the short shifter
THEN maybe an intake
>>
>>28703222
Dashcam, most likely.
>>28703270
TIRES TIRES TIRES
Then track day with your car if you've never done one before
Then get an actual sports car - modding a basic bitch econobox/daily is ALWAYS a bad idea
>>
>>28703329
A GTI isnt an econobox..

>>28703270
It already has a good intake from the factory. You will get more joy out of a short shift.

They're usually rice as fuck too
>>
>>28703332
I mostly would want an intake for the turbo sounds and it's an easily reversible mod in case I ever need to warranty anything. I still have 10k mi of warranty left
After that's out, I want to ecu tune it
>>28703329
I already have decent tires. I've thought about getting new wheels though. Moving the current tires over to them and putting winter tires on the stock wheels
>>
>>28703350
Why would you get new wheels before suspension?
Why intake (useless) before exhaust?
Why tune before supporting mods?
>>
>>28703354
>Why would you get new wheels before suspension?
I honestly like the stock ride height. If I do anything to the suspension, I would replace the rear sway bar
>Why intake (useless) before exhaust?
Exhaust is arguably more useless. At least a cat back would be. It's just noise.
I could see an argument for a turbo back though. It's just much more expensive and I would HAVE to buy the stage 2 tune with the downpipe and probably also replace the clutch
>Why tune before supporting mods?
Stage 1 low torque requires no supporting mods. Only thing I would have to change is filling with 93 instead of 87
>>
>>28703357
I didn't mention the ride height, but sway bars are a goos upgrade too
Coilovers would just bring it more in line with how it was engineered. You know, before the beancounters put fuckin STILTS on 'em like some kind have fuckin' MONSTER TRUCK
I didn't say catback; I mean go fucking catless. Intakes are mostly useless as fuck. Mostly.

Most of that looks like paint transfer. Should come out pretty easy. If anything is gouged down to black, that's the plastic so it won't come back. But in any case a good compound should get the vast majority of that out easily.

Ffffffffffffffff I ran out of custom color matched spray paint after doing all the sanding, bondo, and sanding.
I hope the paint shop I bought the rattle can from is able to ship me another one. Think I'll get paint reactions if I have another shop mix up a can?

It means there's an old timey silver plate accordian box camera sitting on the dash slowly capturing your likeness.

Don't "license" or "register" the car. It's that simple. Unless you want state bennies for the car.

Why is there no information on my car battery that allows you to find the same to buy?
Is it because I went to the dealership?

I (reluctantly) picked up a Mini Countryman S 2012 from a family member, it has some problems so I need to get the service manual. Is there really no way to get it without subbing to the BMW tech website & saving all the pages? I can do it if I have to but I'd like an easier method if possible.

I bought a used car a few months ago and it's great mechanically
But the steering wheel is in rough shape. Scrapes, scuffs, fading, everything
Has anyone here ever applied a wrap to a steering wheel and is that an easy fix or should I look into having someone refurbish the leather or even just buy an aftermarket wheel?
>>
>>28704718
Buy a used OEM one
Car-part.com
>>
>>28704718
Depends on the car. It's usually cheapest to get a used one on ebay
>>
>>28704721
Whoa this is cool; finally can get a trunk lid to paint for my cute little BLUEEE E92 335i
>>
>>28704679
Actually, another thing related to the car. Owners manual says to use 89 at the minimum but he used 87 with no issues, should I start using 89 or save the money?

why wouldnt higher rpms cause more wear? what kind of question is this
>>
>>28705233
>will 100 000 revolutions cause more wear than 50 000?
>>
>>28705237
>>28705246
It's a dumb question but he probably doesn't need to worry that much. More wear, sure. Significantly more wear that's worth worrying about? Probably not. Anything worth worrying about is floating on oil that hopefully isn't shearing due to possibly elevated temps. Nbd.

My truck is a bit rough to accelerate when the tank is almost empty like 1/8 full. After i filled up today i noticed it ran better. I thought it was the cold but it was colder today than yesterday and it got better after the fill up. Is my fuel pump starting to go?
>>
>>28705662
Probably, but most likely because you're starving it and it's having to work harder to suck up fuel. Stop running your tank so low.
>>
>>28704655
brand?
almost all batteries are made by Johnson Controls nowadays. the part numbers might be different, but the battery is mostly the same. you should be able to easily find a replacement unless its some highly specialized car
if you went to the dealership they probably used OEM, so you’d have to look in the OEM parts portal
>>
>>28704728
cant answer your first question but many specialized turbo engines recommend 91 minimum. unless it explicitly mentions that 87 is okay in the manual i wouldn’t use it
