Americans are banned from buying cars directly from car manufacturers, they can only buy cars from useless car dealerships, who do nothing but inflate the price of cars and offer predatory 20% interest car loans.

Explain tessie wessies then

Yeah but at least dealers generally are easier to be held accountable because they don't have billions of dollars to put towards lawyers.

American car dealerships are rich, how do you think they got laws cementing their unnecessary place in the car market? They bribed American politicians, and they'll spend billions of dollars more to bride politicians against revoking the laws which make their exploitative business model possible.

It's a relic of a time where the government actually cared about working-age Americans getting jobs and paying taxes. A shitty relic, unfortunately.
I couldn't care less about the Tesla part of this, but I agree dealerships make things worse.

Wait, really? Lol.
>>
>you like this car? Sorry sir but a new market adjustment just came in about the same time you did. Have you thought about taking out one of our finance plans?

After WW2 ended, Patton started writing letters home stating that we fought the wrong war and that we should have allied with Germany and that jews were the basest, most vile people he had ever encountered.
He died suddenly when a truck pulled out right in front of him from between some derelict cars and the man who orchestrated it went on to become our 34th President.

strangely enough, you can buy directly from Nissan. only nissan, afaik

they exist for the same reason Budweiser can't own their own bars. Becuase back when that was legal, the breweries (car manufacturers) would put a bar (dealership) on every street corner and crowd out the competition, allowing them to jack up prices in the area to whatever they wanted and people had to pay because there was no alternative.

>useless car dealerships, who do nothing but inflate the price of cars and offer predatory 20% interest car loans.
If you're walking in with cash or check, they treat you much differently. Unless you're at a scummy bhph that's just trying to get everyone on (((their lender))).
Personally, my hot take is that I'd open up auto auctions fully to the public, fuck dealer licenses. Ranjesh and Jorge all get to jump titles and use their friend's dealer license as loopholes to buy all the cheap shitboxes that they barely peel the stickers off before flipping - cut that out and your average poorfag American might actually be able to buy a 10 year old Corolla for $2500 again, and therefore be less swayed to take out an 8 year loan for some car they can't afford.

>inflate the price of cars
I KNOW WHAT I GOT is a joke about craigslist and marketplace for a reason
>predatory 20% interest car loans
pay your bills, anon, jesus christ

This is bullshit. He didn't die suddenly, he was in the hospital for days after the "accident," by some accounts seemed like his condition was improving, and then died. No autopsy was authorized or performed.

Car dealerships are almost like movie theaters now, they're relics of a time when communication infrastructure was much more primitive.
I think they've outlived their usefulness to the auto industry and will start fading out in favor of direct sales just like movie studios release direct to their own streaming platforms.
