Mountain roads arn't a substitute for going to the track. You Fags are worse than the cone dodging crowd.Driving a back road at 75% pace is simply not the same as pushing 100% at a track at triple digit speeds.
If I crash at a track I have to deal with a totaled car not covered by insurance damage to the track, damage to my ego, and a tow. If I crash on the mountain, I die and it's not my problem
>>28704130>75% paceNothing wrong with keeping it safe
>>28704130tracks are inconvenient for me as I would have to trailer my car 400-600 miles away to experiance it whereas the road is everywhere and I can drive along it as far as I want to whenever I want to.plus some tracks really do just fucking suck ass, some of the ones that I have seen have 0 elevation changes or worse they're just drag strips with wide return roads and they use that for the long straight.>>28704132I don't pay fucking insurance to drive on the road.
>>28704156I'm a law abiding cuck, if you have even a single day lapse in insurance you get fines here. All registered cars must have insurance or you need to return the plates. Which is why so many people drive with no plates now.
>>28704162idk i just have antique tags on every single car I own and I never have to re-register or visit the courthouse.I'm in a insurance required state but police never ask about insurance paperwork in all the times I have been pulled over.
>>28704130Mountains will always be MORE fun than the track due to the enviornment and changing conditions instead of a sterilized controlled enviornment where the only fast people are the ones who repeat the same thing the most.>>28704143Not only that, but you have enhanced longevity for your machine due to less stress.
>>28704130Back roads are free, back roads lead to more back roads. I can drive for hours on some great back road in upstate NY.
if I'm racing someone on a track or on a straight highway, assuming all else is equal, I win because I'm a better tunerif I'm racing someone on a winding road, assuming all else is equal, I win because I'm a better driverboth take skill, but I'm a way better driver than I am a tuner
>>28704130I was watching some champ series endurance racing and lemons stuff recently, and that seems like a great way to get a TON of seat time in. It looks like it throws you into the race thing. It's got strategy, wheel to wheel and door to door action, breaking and fixing things. And you can drive cool shit that you wouldn't normally see on a road course.
>>28704130Yes but I'm enjoying a beautiful autumn day, and I wouldn't be at a track.
>>28704130okay.
>>28704130driving a back road at 100% pace at triple digit speeds is also simply not the same as pushing 100% at a track at triple digit speeds.
>>28704130I REFYOOZ to be a track cuckI only drive mongten rhoadsI don't even care about going fass, I go super slow in str888s and then intentionally try to swing my ass out in cornersMy idea of fun is sideways g forces and a loud brapping asshaust. Nothing else matters
>>28704130Agreed but paying to use a track is also gay. Hows about people just drive their fucking car and be happy with that?
>>28704130I drive twisty back roads to my local race track.Checkmate gay boy.
>muh track
>>28704130We get it bro - you got MOGGED on the touge by some Chad in a Townace and now you're butthurt and coping.
>>28704389Kind of off topic, but do other people not want to push hard on back roads when ppl try to follow you?I had some dude in a GR86 crash because he tried to follow me.I feel semi responsible for it.I knew a stock 86 on Michelin 4s tires couldn't keep up with me.
>>28704434it's entirely up to them to decide whether they want to drive beyond their skill level. i once had a minor bit of oversteer trying to chase a bunch of cars as well and that's when i decided i should dial it back because i need to get home alive
>>28704434Don't blame yourself for the faults of others. You could have gone back to see if he's alright but you're not responsible for how other people drive their cars.Speaking of touge experiences, once kept up with an '08 Civic Type R on the narrow b roads in my 1.2 8v Clio. At one point we zoomed past some guy coming in the opposite direction with like 10cm of space. Unfortunately he didn't take the route I was going and I didn't want to be that guy who chased him home lol.
>>28704434Yeah I was following my friend once and could see him pushing beyond his skill level so I backed off.If they're following you it's different though - you can't worry about the car behind you, unless you're the one who talked them into driving the road and you're showing it to them or something.
>>28704130Kek the audisteering queer is back to cope and seethe that his luxury sedan is just as good as a 911!
>>28704196There really are some excellent driving roads up there and the 55mph speed limit on low traffic roads is very sane.
So glad to have access to the Nürburgring.>its just the best>a mountain road turned into a race trackBonus; all other roads are similar and free
>hit a single barrier >get wallet raped
>>28704196Based.>>28704677NTA but also an upstater and there's two things to keep in mind:1.) You can't go 55 on a lot of those roads anyway without being at real risk of hurting yourself. There are some real twisty sections up in the Catskills Taconics and Adirondacks, you'll hurt yourself. NY is a really old state full of really old roads and towns and some of the shit that they paved is just downright unsafe and would never fly today; my personal favorite is a hairpin turn on one of my favorite roads that goes right into a stone bridge and if you miscalculate you will go right through/over it into a lake. 55 MPH speed limit.2.) Everybody fucking speeds up here anyway. Commuters speed, semis speed, the cops speed even. You're really only fucked if you're pushing like 90. I've leapt out of my skin so many times when speeding on a backroad and realizing a cop is coming only for them to rush past me just as fast as I'm going.
>>28704130you sound madwho gapped you on the touge
>>28704761I honestly really wish rally driving was a big thing in the states because there are so many road courses you can make up here that would look sick as hell.
>>28704130I can tell you're a bus rider because you assume people drive twsties because they're trying to time attack uphillThis is what happens when you're a bus rider and you watch too many youtube videos.
>>28704769Or hillclimb events
>>28704781lots of those in VT if you live around there
>>28704787I live quite a ways from there, unfortunately.
>>28704677Similar roads in my state are 35 or 45 if not lower.
Am I stupid? Why hasn't anyone bought a piece of unused turnpike road that has become derelict due to a highway bypassing it and turned it into a touge track? They have these circuits in Japan, why cant we have it too?
>>28704769I wonder how many souls of innocent rwd coupes this turn reaps every year.
>>28704130Let's go. You and me on the Kancamagus in New Hampshire. You'll poop your pants cuz your lame ass Camaro cans handle turns.
>>28704130>he doesn't do track days AND comfy mountain road drivesMust suck being poor and living in the big shitty.
>>28704130There are no tracks around here you austenitic newfag.
>>28704930>austenitic
>>28704130that's how to break your car if it's not a racecardid you ever try to use a dinky household broom for an industrial job?
>>28704130I prefer driving back road at 75% than track at 100%.The track still has a bumpy surface, traffic, and gets repetitive very quickly
>>28704449>>28704486>>28704675My problem is:If I'm pushing, and I know I can push harder than the person behind me; I'm basically baiting them.If I'm baiting them to drive beyond their skill level, I feel responsible if they crash.>>28704731The BurgerKing is cool, but then you have to suffer in Germany.
>>28705305sounds more like their problem lol
>>28704130jokes on you, i drive 10/10ths on the streethope your dumbass blind grandma stays out of my fucking way
>>28704130>he isn't double laneing and going 11/10Look at this pussy
>lived in flat hell midwest all my life>drove to northern north carolina for best friend's wedding last month>had the most fun driving I've ever had in my life >went through some of the most beautiful scenery ever>autumn in full swing so everything is 10x more beautifulI need to go back bros. I wish it wasn't a 14 hour drive to get there otherwise I'd go more often
>>28704769Wow I've actually been to this road. That curve on my motorcycle is scary as fuck
>>28704130Most tracks lack the elevation changes of the touge. They're both good, but it's like comparing rally to F1 and saying only F1 is "real racing".
>>28705614The Appalachians and their foothills have god like driving. All the normies and plebs get filtered by the boring slow interstates and assume the whole area is like that.
>>28704130You're right, it's better
Op is a fag he gates track goers the same
>>28704130The best thing about some back roads is having one all to yourself. It depends on the road in particular, but there's an enjoyably weird one that's attached to my town I never have a bad time driving on. Traffic almost nonexistent, negligible chance of cops, totally unsuitable for big rig routes, and pavement just uneven enough to put off anyone who isn't in a big sedan with a tire and suspension setup that irons it all out rather pleasantly. I suppose the views aren't the stuff of glossy magazines and so-forth, but nothing about them bores me, ever.
>>28704595Post sport chrono or get out
>>28706237*And all of this despite how level the terrain and straight the route is for most of it. Wouldn't go there by day or night, however, without GPS navigation, since a few of the turns are abrupt right angles, and poorly indicated by signs or landmarks.
>>28705614Based. Picrel - most fun ive had driving was on 28 in western NC
>>28706012even the interstates were amazing compared to what I'm used to.
>>28706318>most fun ive had driving was on 28 in western NCflyovers are so cutethat road wouldn't even be memorable on the west coast
>>28706329post a road with that many twisties.

>nfw he literally replied to himselfThis is just sad man
>>28706417>I DONT WANT THE SPORT SETTINGS IN MY CAR BRO I WSNT THE SLOW VERSION ITS ACTISLLY BETTER OH O AM LAFFIN. I bet you think your car didn’t understeer like a pig with your soft damped wife spec suspension settings you can’t turn off. LEL OH EL
>>28706639>the sport settings>MUH TRACK TIMER, LAUNCH CONTROL LIGHT (the car still launches without sport chrono) and G METERDude you're never going to win this argument but you keep trying to induce buyer's remorse. Seriously pathetic, what are you, some vodkanigger who hasn't had his number called yet to join the meat grinder?Just what kind of creature keeps up this charade for over a year?
>>28706642>SPORT+ PASM>sport+ throttle map>sport+ traction control >active engine mountsWho buys a sports car without the sport features and then tries to flex with it? You’re an idiot.
>>28706655By building a car with all that as a default
>>28706655Just go and repost your chatgpt write up giving a description on all that bullshit. I've broken down how none of it matters and the active engine mounts are a sucker tax but you're such a huge, deaf faggot it's like screaming at a wall. You act like without this one add on the car is gimped and runs on 2 cylinders because you're a massive fucking idiot. I test drove over a dozen 2 door Porsches with and without sport chrono before determining the feature is a fucking touchier throttle map with an ugly watch in the middle of the dash. The car vibrated less at idle (gay and soulless NVH reduction) because of the active engine mounts. I bought my car after doing a ton of research which included all that seat time. You're a zoomer faggot obsessed with ticking every box in the Porsche builder. We are not the same (you'll never own one of these cars LAWL).
>>28706992Your turkish taxi doesn't come with Porsche Active Suspension Management
>>28704130yes but it's true both ways. Also, track day is a LARP, cone fagging is an actual competitive motor sport. You have nothing to brag about on the track when there is no checkered flag out.
>>28707022#3 smiling down on this based as shit lmao
>>28704130Tracks are a dying breed. We used to have two in our area, a dirt track and a huge superspeedway once used for NASCAR races. The dirt track got shut down because despite being in a rural area it was sued for noise violations, it was overturned in court because the original complainant moved out, but despite an attempted reopening it shut down again soon after. The superspeedway was slated to become a new master-planned community and was to have a big "going away" party but that got cancelled when it became a graveyard for flooded out cars from Houston, then never reopened.
>>28704389>"35 km/hr">American-style yellow diamond signsSounds like Canada.
>>28706655Lol, the absolute state of auto-only ricers
>>28707755>sign on left side of roadgooby pls
I kindof want to take my car to a dirt-drags, I've got a set of mud tires and the diffs welded, I think I could possibly be competetive with it.what's the process of signing up
>>28706884Like bmw Ferrari Audi Mercedes Cadillac
>>28706978>i-i test drove all of them and decided the slow version without the option to go fast was better! Brother, if you are an ignorant retard why would you think your opinion on which one was better was worth using as the basis of a huge purchase? >doesn’t understand the packages >doesn’t understand sports cars >doesn’t understand race cars >doesnt understand 911s >doesn’t understand NARPs>doesn’t understand track driving
>>28708745>doesn’t understand the packagesLol the irony, you've been trying to convince me and everyone else my car doesn't have PASM and that it's got an open differential. Shut the fuck up already. Find someone else's leg to dry hump you obsessed little faggot.
>>28708748You have PASM but you don’t have the sport+ setting lmao. You can’t even use the one disc dlc. ‘I didn’t want the option to go fast in my car I determined it with seat time it was actually better to not have the choice’what a dumb fucking idiot. You even bought used. The option is completely free you just pick a car with the chrono. Brother just admit you didn’t know what you were doing and you wanted a badge. It’s ok to be new at cars.
>>28709075>still no proof other than his chatgpt write up>still no quantifiable data and what difference that makes in laptimes (assuming it exists)>keeps yapping like a seething zoomer about min/max to the 30 year old boomer that test drove to death Porsches and now owns a 911>still wrong about my car being open diff - now too proud to admit itYou lostWhere's your 911 again? You seem real fucking obsessed with the badge you projecting faggot.
