Are all of these things snake oil? My car is 23 years old and has 256k miles on it so it makes me wonder how much crud is inside my engine and fuel lines

I run the techron injector cleaner every couple of tanks
There was definitely a difference after the first use so i keep using it
>>
Chevron Techron is good stuff apparently. Do your own research though. Decide for yourself.
>>
Carburetor cleaner made by Liqui Moly definitely made a difference when I used it once.

i had read this worked to fix a bad sending unit but it didn't do shit for me

There's been people that tested these fuel injection additives. Then by testing the fuel injector flow rates.
The additives basically do jack shit.
We're talking 1 or 2 percent flowing improvements.

Well if you remove the injectors and have a shop professionally clean them we're talking you know 15 to 20% flow gains.
>>
>>28707890
Maybe you have a bad sending unit.

Send yourself out of this thread and don’t reply to me again

Isn't there a Project Farm video on this?
>>
these are all bullshit and could be substituted by adding atf to your crank case oil or into your fuel as they're all just mystery weight oil with detergent in them.
>>
>>28708318
It's just a higher concentration of PEA or PIBA. Gas has detergents in it already but there's thousands of threads full of boomers swearing by this shit anyway. These are the types of people who would put a pair of sneakers in their trunk if they thought it would get them an extra 1 hp
>>
>>28707912
What do they do? Just ultrasonic clean them?
>>

Waste of money

Sea Foam is good to run in the crank before an oil change to clean things out.
It also works in the tank.
I ran Techron through my Bandit 1200's 4 carbs and noticed a difference. It's sensitive to any differences between carbs because it's one carb per cylinder.
>>
>>28707820
I tried the fuel additives and they didn't do shit.
Just clean the injectors directly with a carb cleaner spray can, works way better.
>>
techron got rid of my lean codes, so there's that.

That, and you'd think they would also change the rubber rings and the small filter inside the injector.
>>
>>28708464
Basically a flow bench test and ultrasonic tank while the injectors are being cycled.

For less than $5,000 bucks you can actually set up a professional grade kit.
But it seems like that market is oversaturated.

How much of a difference does it honestly make though? And what matters more, age or mileage?

I've seen some injectors at 100,000 mi improve Flow by like 15%.
Fixed weird spray patterns as well.

But then I've seen 300,000mi injectors from Toyotas that functioned perfectly as is.

>>28707820
They contain detergents, which helps clean out gumming. However this is only ever required if your noise maker's been sitting dormant for a while. Normal working engines don't need this at all. It's overkill for the most part.

>he doesn't blow loads into her tank every night

Are you even a car guy?

Project farm did a couple videos on these kind of things
>>
All that crud has become part of the engine holding all the bearings and other shit together.

Well, if their classic boomermobile breaks down and they're forced to walk, a quality set of shoes can make the most of the 0.24 hp they can output.

I usually don't have any left when I'm done with my sheep.
