Car dwellers, give me your wisdom for I shan't be a slave to mortgage and rent.

I'm a truck driver. I live in my truck. No house no apartment. I cook on the truck and shower in the truck stop. Find a gym. Find activities to get you away from the vehicle as much as possible.
Hiking, trail running and so on.

This, get a Planet Fitness membership. It's not a great gym, but cheap and has showers and even massage chairs

If i lived in the US and wasn't a home owner i would totally do this. Seems comfy. Job hop time to time just to keep things going.

It'd have to be a van though right?
>>
One thing I dont understand about car living is how those niggas manage heating and ventilation. With the engine and hvac off it gets hard to breathe in the car after a coupe hours due to the lack of oxygen, even quicker when its hot. How do you let fresh air in without opening the windows for some hobo to rob you? And then theres the issue of heating. Even during autumn the interior can get unconfortably cold in a matter of hours, let alone a whole night. Leaving the engine running for that long is obviously not a option, so how do you go around that?

You think they run the heater? Lel.
>>

Wtf its not a friggin submarine. I have slept in many a car and never once found it hard to breathe.

If anything its the condensation issue by making the car humid and face wet with your own body heat but still remaining fucking freezing.

holy shit thats a pain in the ass. is buying some sort of mini gas heater an option?
>>28710358
idk man if I sit in a car for hours I start feeling the lack of oxygen. Not really "hard to breathe" but really uncomfortable. I have a feeling Id suffocate if I sleep without letting any fresh air in for an entire night. During summer it would be hell on earth with windows constantly closed too.

If you are not yet locked into it, I recommend a van, buy one tall enough for you to stand in.

I'm also interested in car dwelling, not because I wanna dwell in it, but because I wanna fuck in it, during daytime. I've been looking at privacy screen but no luck

That still doesn't sound right. You dont have asthma do you?
>>
>>28710370
dunno what's up with your car. i've slept in mine before just to take a break from driving. it ends up being like >>28710358 - can get really cold, while also still causing the inside of the windows to fog up, so best to have blankets or something to keep you warm. crack the windows open a bit if you want to get some of the humidity/condensation out

A DC heated blanket is easy. Run it on an aux battery and charge it in the morning. AC is the hard part. Not much fits in or on a vehicle that would be more efficient than running the engine.

Or you could just never bathe, I'm sure you already have a jump start on that one

This guy made battery fan powered window and sunroof vents. His setup has a lot of cool ideas, but I don't want to modify my SUV permanently, even with plastic rain shields for the windows, so I'm making a back window screen out of a flattened $6 aluminum gutter guard from Home Depot. Once you get it cut to the right size and shape you just roll the window up onto the gutter guard / window screen to lock it into place. It's much more secure and safe than just leaving your window cracked.

I was diagnosed with asthma as a Kid but I havent really faced any of its sympthoms in a long time so I doubt that influences anything. Maybe its just my perception idk

This is basically what I did, except I used a more expensive gutter guard, and I used foil tape for the edges instead of duct tape. Flattening out the aluminum was fairly easy, I just put it on a flat surface and rolled over it with a deep socket and a lot of pressure. I'd recommend the aluminum because the vent holes are so small that it becomes rain resistant, much more so than the other choices.

Using an air quality meter will show you that the PPM in the air can triple in about half an hour.

>AC is the hard part.
It's called a Prius. It only runs the engine when it needs to and uses a fraction of the fuel a normal car would.
