With Indian dying a second (third or fourth actually?) death soon, what dead brand should be revived to take on the bar and shield again?
I vote Excelsior-Henderson. Come out with a Rocket 3 style bike (but with 4 cylinders) and a smaller bike called the Super X mostly made overseas and assembled in America to make it seem like you're trying to be an American brand and call it a day.
>>
>>28720251
>karts to groms would be able to attend.
You know there are tracks like that, right? I can't speak for your area, but in mine a local go-kart track has open days once or twice a month where people bring mini-motos, scoots, and Supermotos to rip around on.

>>
>>28720292
>more chinkshit
Didn't specify where you could make the smaller one, but china could be an option. Just need that intro bike that all the American brands lack. You'd make the Henderson flagship model here (well, at least 50% of it) or else people wouldn't buy it. Americans aren't British, they at least want to believe some of the bike they bought was made in the land of the free.

Bros, Is Yamaha ok?
My local dealer has $8k MT-09s and $3500 MT-03s on sale rn. Over 3 of each too. They also aren't fucking around. When I sent in an email request for shits and giggles they just sent me the OTD and asked for my number for negotiations. They aren't doing the normal dealer Tijuana Jerk sesh. Seems they actually desperately want to sell.

Is team blue hurting?

It's mid-November and they're trying to clear out this years leftovers.
>>
>>28720349
Of course, but I haven't seen almost $3k off the price ever. Not when they were trying to clear out 2024 or 2023 models. It just reeks of desperation.

Have 3 bikes, only ride 1.
Noone else I know rides dirt anymore, XR400 has had 2 rides in the last 3 years. Still starts up 2nd kick though. Looks like tidy ones are worth like 3-4k here in NZ and only going up.
ZXR250A doesn't get ridden anymore, registration costs like $500/yr and it's not worth much, maybe 1k but I'd never buy another 250 screamer again because of how rare they are now.

Wat do, bros.

Tenny is more desirable than Tracer lol. They could tech maxx by giving it IMU, nicer brakes, nicer electronic suspension, tubless rims. Android Auto and so on. Just copy what BMW is doing. Also, at the same time, try to reduce the weight of T7, I don't believe this is the best Yamaha can do with this bike.

So what are the best ADV tires that will do well enough on gravely mountain passes and dusty desert roads, but also hold up well enough and not be a pain on the highway for 1000s of miles before we get to the mountains?
My cheap 80/20 Kendas won't do. Should I get 50/50, 40/60, 10/90?
I've been looking at popular 40/60 tires like Shinko 804s and Continental TKC80s, but are those the best?

I'm on a KLR and my friend is on a V-Strom 650, and we plan to do moderate trails. Hopefully that helps with recommendations.

Take it slow through corners until you get used to the extra weight. Also roll on the throttle gently, there is of course a lot more weight than you're used to sitting pretty far back

Carb settings need adjusted? I cleaned the carb out thinking that may be the issue, some shit in the bowl but nothing too crazy, i haven't looked into the airbox yet to see if its clogged

I cant notice this dip in power in the lower gears , once you get to 4th and crack the throttle open you can feel this dip in power only at WOT

Running slightly rich? I havent adjusted this carb in nearly 2 years at this point and ive been commuting mostly every day

My local dealer hasn’t sold any DRZ4SM’s since launch, they’ve had them marked down $2000 for the past 2 months and still not gone.
If they’re still around in January do you figure it possible I could get them to knock off another $1000?

Yeah bro, I just bought a power restricted GSXR1000. See, its a2 compliant. Its the weight and the price that's the issue retard. What is the cost of a new SV650 vs the cost of a CB300R or a G310R? How much does a CB300R weigh vs a SV650, I'm a suzki shill but why is it difficult to see that there is a hole in their lineup?
>>
>>28721074
DRZ4SM makes no sense because they changed things that weren't issues and didn't fix the ONE SINGLE ISSUE.
No 6th gear.
>>
>>28721074
>If they’re still around in January do you figure it possible I could get them to knock off another $1000?
This is happening all over the country, it turns out adding EFI and jacking the price up $3000 from the previous DRZ400 was not the best business decision to make when it doesn't even add a sixth gear and the EFI makes it where you can't do any of the tuner mods that DRZs are known for.

They're marked off here to be as cheap as the remaining 2023 DRZs sitting on the floor and still aren't moving, the DR650s are flying out the door right next to them. You may get them to give you one by January.

If the problem is price and weight, then you could say price and weight, but you mentioned the power.

Btw the CB300R is not sold here, so it's a comparison to CB650R which is exactly 3000€ more expensive than Suzuki. It just depends on the country you live in. Bet jeets can even get 250cc or something which we will never see.

A new D390 is like 3k to 4k USD, same for a Himmy or an INT650. We suffer when we try to buy a bike not made in India. Meteor 350 is a bit more than 2k USD new. G310R is also quite cheap.

The ones in my area are down to $7500. I've considered it, but after fees+taxes it's still close to $10k for a 400cc thumper. You can get a KLX 300SM free and clear for the sticker price of the DRZ-4SM.
If they drop to under $8k OTD I might actually go get one. I also really like that Blue color and they have 3 of them.
>>28721085
>fix the ONE SINGLE ISSUE.
>No 6th gear.
I disagree. I don't really see the lack of a 6th gear as an issue or even something I'd notice. I got to try them out twice at different demo events. At both we got to get out on the interstate and it did fine, nor was that buzzy at 85mph for a couple mile stretch. If you track it or are sumoing around town you'd probably never use the 6th gear anyway. If you're getting a sumo when you might need to tour, you're getting the wrong bike. That's why the only issue is the price. It needs to be "second bike" priced.
>>
>>28721485
Can you connect one of them with other brands of comms?
>>
>>28721495
You "can't" connect it to other brands, but other brands may be able to connect with it, some premium brands advertise to connect with "anything". I can confirm that Cardo can connect with it, but it must be done from the cardo intercom, I put it into paring and my friend use his phone to somehow connect it with mine.

>I don't really see the lack of a 6th gear as an issue or even something I'd notice.
Come on, man. I have a 650, and even I'd prefer to have an overdrive gear just to drop the RPMs for the highway. I get why they haven't changed it on existing models, but they could have widened the gearbox on the 4s and still have had just as chunky of gears.

This shit was less of an issue in the 90s when the speed limit was 55mph, but it's 70mph in most places now.
>>
>>28721486
On the supermoto version, the lack of 6th isn't as big of an issue just because the street tires let it hit those speeds at the same RPM. It's actually fantastic how good the DRZ is as a platform.

I just wish Suzuki didn't think 'GONNA JACK UP THE PRICE HAHA SUCKERS'. That's really the greatest killer for me. I see Tenere 700s, VStrom 800s, and Transalps go for 10K around here on occasion, so why the fuck would I ever get a 400cc thumper at 10K? Suzuki just seems like they didn't do any market research and were hoping they sell out around Europe to make up for any differences in sales the extra 3K markup costs them.

Or maybe the goal all along was to mark it down to DRZ400 levels and just claim they're on permanent discount.
>>
>>28721607
>why the fuck would I ever get a 400cc thumper at 10K
Unless you're in a certain 5-10% of riders, if you consider the 700cc touring bikes and the DR-Z to be the same market, you don't need the DR-Z. I'm not trying to be a cunt, just some enlightenment from seeing what people get up to on dual sports with good suspensions. Suzuki is trying to place their 400 in a middle ground between the entry level 250/300s and the balls-to-the0-wall 450s.

That's a stretch, who would ever do that? One is a single-cylinder that weighs slightly more than a dirt bike and has the power of one as well, and the others are parallel twins that weigh upwards of 400 lbs. Even the most entry level first-time bike owner can look at the slim and tall profile of one, then look at the shorter and fatter profile of the other, and tell there is something very different about these bikes.

Motorcycling is never dying in Asia. It may eventually succumb to cheap chinese scooters, but there will always be people on two wheels simply because it makes no sense to own a car when a $2000 chink scooter is an entire years pay at the foxconn slave factory.

Motorcycling in America will eventually get fucked by regulations kind of like how motorcycling in Europe is going to hard-stop vanish by 2030 because of Euro 6. It'll eventually all be souped-up Ebikes and electric motorcycles that require a 10 hour charge if you wish to go longer than 2 consecutive hours.

They're stiff as hell so walking with them is really awkward, but again they're pretty decent motorcycle boots due to their stiffness. I'd reckon they don't let your ankle twist too much in a fall due to their design.

It took me a second but I realized the left one is also a Like 150. It's a great scoot, isn't it?

When it was running it was a fantastic scoot but the engine kept stalling while I was riding. One time I was on the freeway with a truck behind me and the engine died so the bike slowed down to a stop with no brake lights so I nearly died trying to get off the freeway with a lot of traffic around me. It happened to me about four times a week so I took the bike back to the dealer to get it looked at under warranty and they gave me an identical loan bike and that bike's engine kept stalling on me too. So I got my money back and bought a PCX.
>>
>>28722161
That's concerning. The only time I had something like that was when the battery came loose. Did you find out the issue?
>>
where's the airbags, don't tell me you ride without one
>>
>>28722171
They looked at three different areas of the bike but couldn't find the issue and listed it on the warranty document as a "faulty tip sensor", which cuts the engine when the bike tips over. they replaced that part and the bike still kept stalling so the actual issue is still a mystery.

Out of production as of 2025. They still have them in dealerships, but its removal creates a gap.

Nein shorts and t-shirt.

DR4 in current day config that you can just go and pick up at dealership costs as much as gtx8s, it's also still only 5 gear. Unless you really want the offroad capability(I don't know about that much so can't compare) it's a hard sell when you can get KTM Duke 390 for instance(circa 30% cheaper).
Suzuki has a hole in their lineup and that's not dome kind of schizo theory it's just what it is.

My unofficial riding shoes have accidentally become Van's slip-ons (they're just comfy and easy to wear).
Otherwise, I just wear a t-shirt, jeans, some thrasin supply gloves, and my Lithium MIPs helmet.
I have a proper jacket and riding pants, but I don't like wearing the pants, and I mostly just wear the jacket when it's cold.
I preach ATGATT, but I don't practice it.

i think they just have a tough time with hands specifically
a lot of their works are tagged "rough draw"
i really like it though because i'm not paying attention to the hands that often

Why would anyone enjoy riding such a dirty bike, you're a fucking hillbilly pervert, stop abusing it

My quick googling said it could have been a clogged fuel filter. Which is inside the gas tank so maybe it was easy to miss.

What's the Suzuki Jimmny of motorcycles?
