How you holding up?

Spotted recently in a Toyota owners social media group.
>>
>>28737136
That's what pavement princesses get which are 99% of truck owners.
>>
>buh muh toyoda reliability!!1!
lmao weebs on suicide watch
>>
>>28737253
the J vin Toyotas are fine (for now), not that many of those exist anymore.
>>
Why is a customer """waiting""" in the service bay
>>
>>28737289
he's obviously outside of it considering you can see the frame of the glass wall he's looking through.
>>
>>28737257
this lil nigga still thinks it's 1992 or something.
>The 2026 Toyota 4Runner is built in Tahara, Japan. This assembly plant is located in Aichi Prefecture
>All 4Runners come with a 278-hp turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder
even consoomer reports can't put a good spin on this level of garbage and all these nips are just resting on their faded glory like GM in 1974.
>>
>>28737308
That's a piece of shit engine but I doubt that they manufactured it wrong. (which is what happened with the NA plants)

New Toyotas are always unreliable.
You're just too young to remember older platforms and drivetrains whe they were first introduced.
>>
Not even Toyocunt is reliabru anymore.

It is truly time to destroy all humans.
>>
>>28737308
>smaller than my 15 year old Mazda's engine
grim
>>
>>28737352
The new RAV4 wasn't unreliable. The only issue my 2019 new model year RAV4 had was the gas tank only filling up to 7/8ths. AFAIK they installed a new gas tank the next year.
>>
>>28737389
That's not a new platform.
I'm talking about brand new drivetrains.
New engines they've never made before.
Not a RAV4 that's just a derivative of old engines.
>>
>>28737389
>>"""New""" RAV-4
>derivative of same engine
>only new features were interior/transmission/differential ratio
This nigga is like 19 years old and doesn't remember
>Gen 3 Supra (US ONLY) being shit
>All MR2's being unreliable AND hard to work on (got worse with each generation!)
>2nd gen Celica having the single most cramped engine bay ever, worst thing to work on
>3rd gen Celica having a glass transmission
>T-100 having the worst frames imaginable
>Toyota 5-speed automatic trannies having issues for the first few years of production
>Toyota 2.4L inline fours in 3rd gen tacoma's were shit due to being so underpowered that everyone beat the shit out of them unintentionally
>Every gen of Tacoma's having horrible frame rot, even after the massive recall, they continued making shit frames

I love Toyota btw, I just hate the faggots who glaze them as the BE ALL END ALL car company. It's biting them in the ass now, unlike every other car company, Toyota is refusing to drop prices on many of their vehicles from the COVID era bullshit despite the drop in sales (even though they're still #1 they're slipping fast)
>>
>>28737308
>The same anemic (but bombproof) V6 we've used for two decades needs an update
>Oh how about a turbo 4
Kill me please
Chevy also had a gem of a V6 in the Colorado and they made the same fuck up.
>>
>>28737396
>That's not a new platform.
It was
>I'm talking about brand new drivetrains.
It was
>New engines they've never made before.
Toyota has had a twin turbo V6 since 2017 at least
>>
>>28737463

The ironing
>the faggots who glaze
Zoomer speak LMAO go hug your dad OH WAIT you never knew him
>>
>>28738215
I don't get it, why do boomers keep buying turbos? There are still options without them, and they aren't even driving fast
>>
>>28738215
Colorado had an I5.
>>
>>28738215
transmissions on the colorados were hot steaming shit.
>>
>>28738215
They'd already moved away from it in the Tacoma, the 2GR had a ton of issues when they stuck it in the 3rd gen. Sadly the Taco and 4Runner are both stuck with an even worse engine now.

>>28738234
They do work well when they're actually good, noticeably better than the overstressed car V6s a lot of midsize trucks and SUVs have gotten stuck with. Unfortunately not many of them are good, the Ford is the only one I can really think of but that's attached to a notoriously bad transmission.
>>
So I've been following this story. And Toyota claims the issue is "machining dust". And other anons said that's bullshit, and the engines were designed wrong. Someone said they chose a bearing that was too small to save money or maybe it helps with fuel economy too. What's the story here?

Is the engine manufactured in the USA then brought to Japan for final assembly, or both countries manufacture that same engine?
>>
>>28738240
Oh I know, I own one, the 8speed is garbage and it's going to cost me. I'm talking bout the motor though.
>>
>>28738236
'15-'22 had a V6

>2.4L engine in a big ass SUV
Jfc, I have a 3200lb Honda and I feel bad for this 2.4l engine, it doesn't even have a Beijing blower on there and I have mechanical sympathy for it.

"Debris" is an excuse to blame bad design, like GM and Hyundai said on their respective recalls.
>>
>>28737136
V8 Tundra's prices are going through the roof. Fucking stupid ass Toyota.
>>
>>28737463
>2.4L inline fours in 3rd gen tacoma's were shit
I killed 2, first one threw a rod out the side of the block on the highway, warranty covered it, but they tried to argue with me on the second one so I sold that piece of shit.
>>
>>28738252
They're all made in the USA, entirely. They're shipped fully dressed to Japan to be stuck into some Lexus models. Your shitty AI chatbot is not a trustworthy source of information.
>>
>>28745910
Well thank god AI is wrong because all engines being assembled in USA explains everything

Alabama boys, your response?

>Toyota Reliability
lmfao
>>
>>28737257
Lmao no they aren't. The Japanese built full size Land Cruisers have the same fucking dogshit V6 turbo engines as the Tundra and Sequioa that are grenading themselves. It's not gaijin parts breaking either. It's a poorly designed IHI turbocharger system designed and built in Japan. The Armada/Patrol are now the more reliable of the Jap body on frame vehicles.
>>
>>28739207
Toyota gives you free oil changes for the first few years at a lot of their dealers.
>>
>>28746414
It's no wonder those motherfuckers are extending oil change intervals to 10,000 miles, it's to save them money, and Toyota doesn't give two shits f a fuck about their cars past their fast owner, the 36,000 mile lease, or whatever the fuck their factory warranty is, of course it's reliable and good, it's only when the car has 150,000 miles and it's burning a dumb amount of oil does the lack of oil changes get you.
>>
>>28746418
These V35A engines are literally grenading themselves at under 20,000 miles
>>
>>28746447
Good god, I don't even like Yotas but if people weren't baby booming about 2GR/1GR trucks before, they really have reason to now.
>>
>>28746459
hoard up all the GR engines you can cuz they're gonna be wanted in the future. or maybe they'll be the future sbc or something.
