Post the filthy, icy shitbox that's keeping you warm through the holiday season.
>>28743669you niggas will call anything a shitbox
Love it, only car I've ever had where my feet aren't frozen into solid blocks 5 minutes into the commute.
>>28743690Hot hatches are the nicest shitboxes you can get. FWD, transverse, inline engine. This one is even a base model.>>28743692Very nice. Mine takes a little longer than I'd like for the heat to start blowing hot, but once it does it's very comfy.
>>28743695That's why I bought it to be honest, sold my jap truck and got myself a mobile crematorium.I've never had a car as warm as this thing, I love it.I've been thinking about getting one of those fancy transfer cases where you can switch the power to the front wheels off so I can drift it during the winter.Despite being constant AWD, it's actually a bit tricky to drive during the winter and it has a tendency to slide around a lot and lose control surprisingly easily. I suspect it's due to the high center of gravity and short wheel base.
>>28743709Looks really light too, bet it feels really skittery. Have you tried chains or studded tires at all?
>>28743710I throw studded tires under it every winter as winter tires used to be mandatory here up until recently.
>>28743723I wonder if chains or tires with some more tread depth would do any better, my thinking it that it just doesn't have enough bite on the snow with how small and light it is.
>>28743669My family bought a brand new C30 in 2007, for not much more back then you could've had a ropey Countach. How times have changed.
>>28743909It's a great little car, sits somewhere between a Golf GTI and an A3, but mine's an 08 so she's a little long in the tooth in some respects. Drivetrain is still rock solid though. Paid around $5500 for it, but I probably could've haggled it down a little more if I knew what I know now.
>>28743910What engine does your have? My parents had their first one for at least 12 years before someone rear ended it and wrote it off, I think it'd done about 200k miles by then. They bought another one as a run around because they liked it so much.
>>28744178They only came with T5s in the states. It's the B5254T7, one of the blocks that's bored out too much and needs shimmed/sleeved before it can make real power too.
It's okay I guess
>>28743669There are at least 3 of us on /o/
>>28743669>>28745205Why did Volvo ditch this god-like model?
>>28745205Yeah, think there's a green one out there too, right?>>28745242Time comes for us all in the end.
>>28745242because it's ugly, slow and gay
>>28745242>>28745297and a ford
>>28745297post a better looking hatchback from the same era
>>287452422 door hatchback is a dead market segment
>>28745137>EquinoxOh nonononono
>>28745205>>28743669I used to own a T5 as well until 2017 (pic related w/ 30mm Eibach lowering springs, sorry not dirty). I really liked the engine. However due to the bad weight distribution I got really low mileage on the front tires.
>>28745488that little 2 liter somehow makes way more horsepower than either of my V8 barges so at least it's quick
>>28745920Nice color, reminds me of the metallic red Mazda uses.I think the stock camber on these cars is pretty aggressive, so you're basically always riding on the inside lip of the tires unless you drive the absolute piss out of it. That and it's a semi-powerful fwd car, they tend to wear that way anyways.
