My car which cost $4k three years ago and which I recently replaced the windshield on for $1.5 broke down a few days ago. Can't even drive it. The workshop says it's the clutch and costs $3k to fix. I guess there's nothing else to do but scrap it, right?

Maybe I'll have it towed to a ghetto workshop I know nearby, and if they can do it cheaply fine I'll do it, if they also charge a high price then I'll scrap it. I was kind of pissed at them because they changed a bearing just a few weeks before the car started showing problems, so I thought it was because of that, and then the way they acted when I asked about that, but this other workshop says it's not related to the bearing, so I guess I'll just forgive their reaction.

After the windshield is replaced they have to recalibrate the cars sensors and shit to make sure the safety features like collision avoidance don’t malfunction since there are sensors behind the windshield. That’s what drives up the cost. Safe lite would’ve done it for like $400 with some Chinese glass but my deductible was $500 so might as well pay the extra $100 to have it done right with good materials.
